man, you ever had someone argue with someone else, but doing it in response to you instead of that someone else? like you'll be over here saying something about waffles, and they'll come at you about pancakes.
i pretty much only come across it when people are unreasonably tied to an opinion and zealously attack anyone who disagrees, even slightly. hck, i have hairtrigger lawyers come at me for *agreeing completely* with the videos i comment on because i allegedly didn't even watch it or understand the arguments in it. reading- and listening comprehension is really an underrated skill.

24:34 Comics have been in decline in quality for a few years, and it's frustrated multiple fan bases who grew up with them. The louder the fans complained, the worse the books grew. To add insult to injury, the fans are constantly blamed for the failures of the comics no one wants to read. If you want a reactionary online mob, that's how you grow one. DC and Marvel seem to count on this anger to make sales, which will only enrich youtube channels that rage bait views.
Now, when a new book comes out that isn't in lock step with DC or Marvel, criticism is the equivalent of chumming for sharks. The only place I go for any kind of comic review is here, where the critique is on the story and art instead of everything else that gets attached to it.
