  • I get out the Honda HSS 928 ATD to take on this winter's largest snowfall so far! The high winds created a 5 foot drift by my garage doors! Will this Honda snow blower handle this kind of snow? You'll have to watch to find out!
    This is my 3rd channel, focused on small engines. Therefore, I have other Honda HSS928 videos on my main channel if you want to see more. I may or may not move them over here. You can see them here: / @wisconsinolivernut
    I will also be bringing you more content on this channel, it will be solely focused on anything small engine. More content coming, but it's also my 3rd channel so I'll release vids when I can.
    Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe!

    I have the 1332 tracked Honda. These blowers are the best hands down. One tip is when you start it put the throttle on full. It should start up faster for you. Enjoy!!!!!!!

    • @wisconsinsmallenginenut
      @wisconsinsmallenginenut  Год назад +2

      Yep you’re right! Sometimes I forget to do that. You’d think high revving upon startup would be harmful as the oil hasn’t been moved around yet. But there’s a lot of small engines where the choke and throttle are on the same lever. Up above full throttle. They start wide open so it must have been researched by them to be ok

    I'm really surprised at how poor the Hondra tracks had on the ground. Compared to other trac models like the Ariens, Torro and Cub Cadet models, this didn't seem to "cut through like hot butter" like other reviews. Noticed lots of slipping and "pushing" by the operator. Honda is SUPER top heavy. A heftier trac system would make this an elite machine.

    • @wisconsinsmallenginenut
      @wisconsinsmallenginenut  6 месяцев назад +4

      Well, I wanna be as transparent as possible, but you can’t tell in videos what the conditions are like. If I’m trying to cut through hard pack from tire tracks, you wouldn’t probably see it in the video. Or how cold it is. When it gets colder after a heavy, wet snow, it’s harder to get through. Real fluffy snow is easy. But whatever the case, the tracks on any pull much better than the wheels

    • @RJP001
      @RJP001 6 месяцев назад +1

      Same with my HS928 which is 20 years old and track mounted. It tracks the ground quite well and when I'm in way too deep snow above ground level, it still tracks well until I hit better traction ground surface. Track mount works many times better in our snow than tire mount. @@wisconsinsmallenginenut

      Nope it’s been great! This is my 3rd RUclips channel. I have a firearms one and my main one is with Oliver tractors. So I have some small engine stuff on my main (Wisconsin Oliver Nut) but I will be putting all small engine stuff here, from now on. I have quite a few Honda things. Got some of the riders with the timing belt like the 3813 and 4514. Nice mowers. I wished I had been doing RUclips at the time I fixed those. The classic mouse nest made the timing belt skip cogs. Oh well, I can always find some more to fix

    Considering the cost and reputation of Honda snowblowers, you are not doing anything unexpected of your snowblower IMHO. I live in WV and bought a 1332ATD at the beginning of winter. We had less than an inch twice. Did not need to use it this year. Told my wife it was insurance. If I had not bought it, we would have had 2 feet, LOL.

    I have the 928 tracked also I bought it on the day after a 2013 blizzard. But since I purchased a bobcat with an enclosed cab and heat I've kind of been a wuss and have only used that even if it's only two or three inches. It's more fun honestly. But I love that 928 it could pretty much throw the snow about 90 ft I swear. We just haven't had much need for it since I bought it for the most part except for maybe a few times and by then I'd already had the bobcat.

    I had a 928 track machine. Hated it so I sold it.. Terrible to operate but my biggest gripe was that it was terribly underpowered.. way too slow for my liking. Maybe the 13 is better.. A 28 or 30" Ariens SHO will easily outperform the 928 in speed and volume. For about half the money !! It's unarguable,, I've run both.
