Got an Aerins 28 years ago--damn thing won't wear out! I love this Honda--if I had one, I'd start it up, and go in the house and check it every ten minutes.
I retired my 30 year old Honda HS 80 last year and bought the new 13 horse version - what a beast. In 30 years the old one never gave me any grief just normal maintainance - but the auger and propeller where worn out. When I purchased the HS- 80, my neighbours gave me the crap about that little hp engine compared to theyr 13 horse or more Ariens, Stiga and whatever Brigs & Stratton powered blower that comes to mind. That little 8 horse Honda outperformed them all. They where constantly having issues whilst the Honda performed flawelessly. So - when retiring the old, a new era have begun. I’m still on the trone - now with the new Honda 13 horse.
Yeah even the mechanical transmissions were pretty good, so long as you changed gears before engaging clutch. I thought Briggs powered blowers was pretty good, until I owned one (mind you, my first, and it was pre-used), doesnt throw the snow as far as I'd like, and oil seal failed. My brother got a used 6 series Honda with hydrostatic drive and boy do I want one. I have a tractor for the main driveway, so the smaller blower is just for walkways, have changed the seal, I'll get a few more years out of it, then replace it with a 6-series Honda as well.
That is impressive. Those track driven snowblowers have much better traction, and breakthrough capability than wheeled ones do. Plus they are way more directionally stable. Thing I'm most impressed about is the lack of clogging when the snow is over the top of the auger housing.
Yes, since purchasing a snowblower, I actually seem to be sleeping better at night .. I believe it has a comforting effect, on me just knowing it's there all fueled up and ready to go. thanks .. great video.
I love my Honda snowblower!! I live in upper peninsula Michigan almost as far as you can go we get an incredible amount of snow every year and these machines are simply unstoppable and highly dependable 😎
I have a 38 year old Honda HS 50 Snow Blower that still starts on the second pull even after sitting for a whole year. The only thing I have had to do is replace a belt, shear bolt and a leaking float valve. Then there is my 18 year old Honda HS928TAS that I use only whenever we get over a foot of snow. Although it has electric start, these 73 year old arms can still get it started with 2 pulls. I have close to 30 pieces of equipment and quality is always at the top of my list. Honda's can't be beat.
same here ,log splitter over 20 years old GX 160 was using this -4F morning starts no problem power washer bought in 2001 GX 390 i put lots hours runs beautiful quality means a lot to me
it's worth paying double the average high powered snow blower cost because you get 2x the quality and 2x the work out of it. what a great sales presentation
Looks like he's using a zip tie to hold the drive handle down, which then holds the auger handle down too. This is possible because the hydrostatic drive can shift from forward to reverse without releasing the drive.
own an HS80 that was made in 1990, the thing just doesn't break. rips through 2 feet of snow easily and still goes strong. take care of yours and it will serve you for decades friend.
Такої зими - снігу я не бачив років принаймні 10, через зміну клімату на поліссі, чудова техніка та Сергій в якості кермувальника, супер канал, цікаві моменти з життя родини.
Fellow owner of the same HSS928ATD evident in the video. Pro Tip: Install some drift cutters on that machine. There's the OEM option, but the Husqvarna-branded cutters, which are adjustable, are also a confirmed fit.
I used this after the huge snow storm in the San Bernadino mountains (BLIZZARD) and this thing was a champ! It broke up ice and 2" of snow/slush with ease. Saved hours of manual labor (and my back!) Highly recommend!
I watched this to get properly motivated to repair this very machine. The one I have is a bit older but it appears similar to this as they are both the hs928. The video was nice and I’m getting excited to use this as I bought it already in need of repair. I have never run the machine but look forward to that.
When dealing with nor-easter that's going to dump that volume of snow we deal with it in stages even if we have to go out at night ,our 10+ year old Honda HS928 a tracked machine like yours but with a lot less bells and whistles can still tackle the job and does not burn a drop of oil while doing so given the number of hours on it quite impressive and yes they do make some very unusual machines like the Honda Hybrid 1390
I have the Hss 1332 atd and I love it, I'm in the capitol area too. On a side note the prices have increased by just over $1000, I'm glad i got mine when they were cheaper
Yes please change the engine oil after using it in such heavy snow... there are no air filters in snowblower engines so it probably sucked in quite a bit of snow through the air intake. I have an older hs80 from the mid 1980’s and it’s still running like new but I do change the engine oil every 4 hour of use.
Nice video man. I had to deal with the same amount of snow, but only had my small 24" Troy Built snow blower. It wasn't as graceful as yours made it through the snow, but it still got the job done. Even the chute on mine was below snow level a lot of the time and the end of the driveway was more of a struggle forward and back several times to make it.👍
That thing is a beast. You can hear that powerful impeller whirring. Toro and Ariens are fierce competitors. But Honda got the HST spot on. Except for the price 😮😞
Ariens AX engines are chinese motors owned by LCT true. toro no bro. i make a living using Honda small engines. also i have seen tough Yamaha when i was a boy, the rest are made in china.
Look at all the people complaining about not letting all the snow fall before moving it. You people don’t have jobs? Not everyone has all the time in the world to wait around and watch the snow fall.
So true, I have to go to work no matter what, and then when the day is done, come home and take care of my own snow removal it is so tiring and exhausting, that’s why I have two simplicity pro snowblower’s and thinking about getting the Honda 13/32
I just got this model! Are the tracks suppose to lock on one side so you can spin on a dime when you depress the lever? I figured there was an adjustment somewhere as my last track drive blower was able to do that…..
My brand new HHS 928 was just delivered three days ago. I'd prefer that it doesn't snow this winter here in Brockville Ontario Canada and would rather winter in Floridas but I'm not holding my breath
Have worked a blower for years, with six feet of snow being its greatest challenge. Two things: the auger should be greased at least once every season. There is a receptacle for the grease in the center of the shaft. Very important. Secondly I have found that if I keep the blower spout pointed lower than higher the machine doesn't have to work so hard to blow the snow away from you. Have fun!
that was nice advice but there is no center shaft on the augers on Hondas. The auger connects to a short shaft coming out of drive box and stays connected against bucket on outside. Honda doesn't do that other design
Couple of observations: that’s a lot of snow, and HONDA snow blowers are incredible ....... next: did anybody else notice this fella is snow blowing three feet of snow, without gloves and having having a good time? You know what his guy is tough as nails!! Where are you friend? That’s a lot of snow!!!
This machine is an absolute beast. Only upgrades I would like to see is a larger track foot print and a 3-stage....perhaps to the likes of the Cub Cadet Trac.
@@tjlovesrachel thank you for saying that. Only no-noting fools buy into that cub cadet crap. They also eat through shear pins and auger gear boxes. Honda's, Toros, Simplicity, Yamaha, Ariens, would never even try that stupid gimmick, and those machines are ten times the machine versus that cub cadet gahhhbage
Cub Cadets are MTD dog shit and that third stage is a gimmick. If it was worth a damn, you’d see the best of the best copying that design…but ya don’t.
Does this have the updated chute design to prevent clogging? I’m looking at buying this years HSS928...There was soooo much snow in your video it was hard to tell... LOL
Cost me about $2800 5 years ago. My 16 year old Honda 928WAS I got for $1700; $500 cheaper then local shops and no one had it at that time as it was all sold out in MA. Found one in NH and transported back that 16 years ago.
This Honda 928 is unbelievable; left hand "clutch" propels and right "clutch" enable augur. One hand on the drive clutch and the augur will remain enabled until you release the drive clutch.
@RYAN You are correct! At the 2:41 mark ... he is just moving the forward and backward drive stick. The left handle showed the "not engaged" drive handle "trigger". I don't see any ties like velcro ties engaging the trigger on the left handle. Maybe a feature I don't know about on the Honda?
All wheel blowers tend to do this. Blowers with track do have their pivot point far more in the back and don't climb up that quickly. But on uneven ground the blower is more lickly to get caught on the ground. To avoid this a continous height adjustment is necessary (Honda blowers with tracks do have this feature except for the smallest HSS655).

In conditions like that, the hydro drive really shines. Honda really has the track drive systems down pat. Great video.
The honda is hands down a beast, Absolutely no comparison.....

Dang! Was worried about getting too old to clear my driveway until I saw this video! Amazes me how he doesn't have to be holding on to it!
Looks like he's using a zip tie to hold the drive handle down, which then holds the auger handle down too. This is possible because the hydrostatic drive can shift from forward to reverse without releasing the drive.

Nice!
this is one of the blowers i'm considering buying, that's pretty impressive to say the least...

You can't stop those Honda snowblower!
People in the next town are probably wondering why it's snowing. 🤣 Nicely done! I'm trying to get over the hump of the cost of getting one.
If you do it right… buy once cry once
Really impressive snow blower ! Love it !
That is the baddest snowblower I've ever seen 🇺🇸

When it’s snow like this in Canada I always eat so much snow ❄️ I take many bowl of it and eat it all !
Those Hondas are badass.
I have 2 928; 1st 16 years old ... changed snapped drive belt once. ... 2nd only about 5 years old... does exactly what was shown. Awesome machines.
Now that`s a snow storm dump! Honda makes good equipment. Looks like you could have used the 32" Honda
32'' too big need to be able go thru the gates blow the snow for my animals so they can have fun outside 28'' much better for my applications
I got it say Honda is the best snowblower ever
I have a toro 928 “heavy duty” that is a year old and the POS had trouble with 10” 2 weeks ago.
She is a beast dang cuts thru a ton of snow no problem

Thank you
That’s badass! I wish we got dumped with snow like that here in Utah. Can’t go wrong with Honda, I love my Honda equipment.
I have a brand new one also, used it last storm and is amazing!!!
I have an 828 track for the past 25 yrs and a 928 track for the past 3 yrs.. Nothing beats either.
Keep the drive chains and sprockets well Lubricated and put a ceramic car finish on the inner surfaces of housing and chute.... nothing sticks....

I have a honda snowblower with the wheels, mine wants to climb up the snow instead of pushing through it...
I had the same problem until I installed two 10 pounds Ariens Front Weight Kit 72406500 . Problem solved.
All wheel blowers tend to do this. Blowers with track do have their pivot point far more in the back and don't climb up that quickly. But on uneven ground the blower is more lickly to get caught on the ground. Should have done it when only half the snow was on the ground
Why do people wait til the storm is over go out half through much easier.
More fun!
Just as easy with this machine; don't need to do it twice. Smaller machines can't handle that much snow
No problem waiting as long as you have the right snowblower and are confident it will clear out the nastiest snow.
You need to sell & move out that place
Great machines but very expensive and designed for short people
