Thank you for the video, Shelley! It was helpful. I tried this effect last night using a sponge dauber and pigment ink pad. I'll try with acrylic and a brush in the near future.
Thank so much for this tip it will definitely help me to get the right effect I’m looking for. I do have a question though, how did you cut the acetate so nicely round. 😊
Hi! That's awesome! I know I am a year late to this party, seeing as we're not allowed out. Will it be possible for you to show us how you made the "original" , you knows the photo in the beginning? It's sooo pretty.
Hi Reema. This type of background is normally a result of focusing on something quite close to the viewer. I would say that it would not be suitable for a whole tree or mountain but perhaps a close-up of a few leaves or section of a branch. Google ‘bokeh’ and you will see many examples of this effect is used in photography.
This was so simple and easy to understand, awesome job! Thank you!
wow thank you shelley, best video i have found while searching for a good technique!!!

@@glaufigueiredo1357 lol I just cut it really carefully by hand. I suppose you might find a hole punch that would work too.

You can use whitener also
What type of whitener?
@@shelleypriorfineart Faber castle correction pen
@@shelleypriorfineart first you should colour then you squeeze the whitener in your finger put round
how do you make the templates
I used household item (bottle caps, coins etc.) to trace circles and cut them out carefully with a small utility knife.
