The info in tweet was totally correct; Yes Junk Synchron was still a popular card in the TCG, but Junk Dopple piles were strictly weaker versions of the synchro decks popular at that time, as the best thing you could be doing by a mile was playing Tengu Plant. I had a buddy who due to budget was forced to run the Junk Dopple pile and let me tell you, the tweet was right; it wasn't it.

    Dragonmaid was tier 1 in the OCG in Tri Brigade, Prank Kids and VW format. Those decks die to 1 Tidying bounce lmfao, not to mention maxx C. Maid also plays pretty well into Maxx C. Coming to the TCG, 1 Tidying couldn’t do sht and no Maxx C so the deck flopped.
    Code Talker control with Heatsoul was also pretty fun. You draw every turn into handtrap with Heatsoul and sit back with Cynet Conflict, then proceed to OTK your opp whenever you want later. I’d much prefer this than Mathmech.
    Spright plays better into Maxx C since none of the Spright starts a chain, and Gigantic just scream “no Nib or Gamma”. If you Maxx C, you might risk losing a card for nothing since they can simply stop at any time they want. Now that MD is here TCG players understand Maxx C a bit, but coming to side deck you’d rather sit back with some handtraps, let your opp -1 from throwing Maxx C into a normal summoned Swap Frog, than letting them get to their side cards.

    • @xCorvus7x
      @xCorvus7x 5 месяцев назад

      If Maxx C on the Swap Frog keeps you from playing out your Spright combo, don't you just get steamrolled by your opponent, who then gets to play as if _they_ went first (except for getting a Battle phase)?
      Your handtraps might keep them from OTKing but you likely end in a losing position, don't you?

    the reason i think r-ace isn't top there in tcg is because other top deck is still strong at full power (kashtira, spright, runick) not really because of maxx c, current popular R-ace build doesn't respect maxx-c either as now auroradon is the popular build
    also fpr comparison it's kinda hard to tell as i think ROTK take data from bunch of locals, while tcg usually only see tops from big tournament

      Keep in mind that almost all responses to the tweet are very specific to US TCG community, where cards release later than they should CONSTANTLY, and by the time we get many decks, a different deck has already taken its place, with THE best example being dragonmaid flopping because we had dragonlink. Additionally, many decks just get skipped over because we’re just not interested in them. we were well aware of tear’s strength so spright just straight up was skipped. And as usual, having your deck only be good bc of a card that we know is gonna get banned eventually makes us less willing to spend on it.

  • @AhmedAyman-ro5ht
    @AhmedAyman-ro5ht Год назад +2

    The reason some Spright Versions were played much more in the OCG was largely part of the fact they tried to compensate for the lose of Toadally but they never went to the runick version (You could say for Maxx C), but most notably Tri-Brigade did succeed there for the period it was playable and still is actually rogue-Ish.... the reason it never took off was beacsue The Ishizus, the moment they went back to their Tear boner Tri-Brigade just couldn't go 2nd as their entire play is shut down by them.. later down the line Blue was limited and Elf was banned which basically didn't help the deck.
    It is extremely good in MD right now for example and I would argue underrated, also one reason is maybe beacuse that it is complicated. They don't just summon and go like Toad Spright. But you do see it often in ladder...

      Maxx "C" is good against everything except floowanderezee and stun specifically. Even if you only draw two against labrynth for example, that's just like pot of greed. Also the reason it should be banned is that is so good you have to run it and therefore also have to run the outs to it, in pretty much every deck. That's just not fun.

    • @e-tan3911
      @e-tan3911 Год назад +7

      Well, while Maxx "C" is a REASON for why certain decks succeeded in OCGLand vs here, there are other factors for each one that MBT fails to address in his video:
      Adventure Tenyi- As said in the video, didn't flop over here so much as we made a different variant of it.
      Adventure PK wasn't as prevalent over here because Dragon Link took over it's position as the "adventure pile deck" for us, while Dragon Link is MUCH worse performing over there. While this is in part due to Maxx C, it is also because OCG players really didn't have as much time to explore different adventure decks as we did over here in the TCG, since we knew about them several months in advance.
      Dragoon.dek- This is a VERY old list, since Dragoon for the OCG came out around the end of TOSS, while for us it came out several years later. The reason this deck flopped was mostly because, by the time we got Dragoon, generic good answers to Dragoon were much more prevalent, with answers like Zeus and Droplet being heavily played in the meta at the time. Dragoon simply did not have the ability to compete.
      Runick Synchro- Halq is banned.
      Vanquish Souls- lol even in OCGLand this deck is mid.
      Dracoslayers- completely destroys your point as they were a combo deck better in OCG vs TCG, but ehh, we were on that IshizuTear shit and basically nobody played anything else.
      Not gonna continue but you get the point.

However it does not mean R-Ace is bad deck even after support, it will be overshadowed in the TCG.

    I would have to agree with the person that said Ogier is the better combo starter for infernoble. yeah hand knowledge is cool with Connector into dolphin is neat but if Connector is ever stopped most of the time infernoble passed since the best extenders in the deck worked with Fire warriors only. I'm currently playing 3 ogier and my opponents almost never stop it and I get access to Gearfried to protect my plays so often.
    if you think Infernoble needs the hand knowledge/rip from connector you're not playing the deck right. if that was the standard then every deck would be unplayable if you couldn't handrip/look at the opponents hand.

    I wish ocg was only played in Japan. I live in the Philippines and have to use ocg cards. I can't read Japanese. it's hard to bring out my phone every time a card I don't know is used just to read the effect.

    For what its worth, I find most runick variants to me some levels of cope in the tcg.
    The only one that I felt like was actually good was the naturia runick version. Free discards, played around pretty much everything, naturia engine had a lot of options with the runick bodies and you just were able to solo matches with the naturia engine in the worst case scenario.
    Runick cards are just so bad if fountain doesn't resolve, and losing the battle phase on top of it makes clearing fields somewhat resource intensive. I'd rather just play going second spright or spright twin with like 12 defensive cards than runick spright.

    • @centurion2396
      @centurion2396 10 месяцев назад

      Runick isn't really built for breaking boards, it is more of no you don't play and i will keep you my prisoner until you deck out.
      Like yeh runick is bad at breaking board and going second if they dont resolve the field spell as much as mathmech was unplayable if your opponent has 5 negates and don't let your circular resolve.
      Most one card combo decks are reliant on that 1 card resolving or they won't play and runick is in this category, but if you let it resolve, you are in for a very bad game.
      I have seen full power D-link, swordsoul, branded and spright lose badly to runick.
      Runick isn't the best deck around tho and yes it does have many choke points unlike other decks that can afford some of their key cards negated, but still it is a decent deck overall.

    Adventure p.k was easily tier 1 in the tcg . We had anaconda and dragoon
    I think people weren't too hot on it because they were worried it was gonna get hit by the banlist which kinda killed its playability

    • @shawnjavery
      @shawnjavery Год назад

      Phantom knight was just kinda bricky and inflexible? I was playing it a bit before protos ban and swordsoul just had that as an auto win card going first. Also you had the 2 dpe bricks, the 3 adventure bricks, maybe the 2 ba bricks if you wanted cherubini to be able to get to rusty bardiche by itself.
      The deck was scary, but you just had more consistent options in the format.

    • @BradleyBarba-km9qu

      It was like a pile deck with lots of gas if not interupted

  • @baileydombroskie3046

    Adamancipators is just more consistent but weaker morphtronics. And I’m serious here. Morphtronics r adamancipator on crack. No HOPT, no locking restrictions, no brake, all gas. Only reason they never seen competitive success was bcuz it was a long time b4 we got ED monsters that the deck cud make and use to actually win with. If u let morphtronics go balls to the walls, they will make dragon link players jealous.
