This breaks my heart to listen to. Lamar kept telling the other guys that Elvis was going to die but they thought Elvis was to strong to die. I think it really hurt Elvis because he could always gain weight, then lose it. He could take his meds and then lay them down for a period of time and get himself together. I understand that a twisted colon is very painful and he often told Charlie Hodge that he hurt all over. It was from his colon and flood retention putting pressure on his organs. Fluid build can also put pressure on a persons heart. My heart doctor told me that. As Elvis's mega colon got worse and he couldn't lose weight and couldn't figure out why I think that he kinda gave up. Somehow I honestly believe that Elvis felt that he wasn't going to be here much longer so he thought I might as well enjoy the foods I like and I might as well numb myself with meds and stop as much pain as I can. Elvis had a large payroll and had to keep touring to maintain his expenses. Still it is so sad that we lost him at only 42. God Bless Him.

When you are taking sleepings pills for almost 20 years and you are eating fast food is sure that you will get colon problems. He should have stop taking the drugs earlier. He did the oposite. Unfortunately the drugs do not solve any problems.

Truly a romantic American tragedy story, its a shame in so many ways. I relate to Elvis in a lot of ways, raised by somewhat righteous parents who really never taught their child what he was in for in The World because they didn't even know themselves. He was raised too good to be as evil as he needed to be in that world of Hollywood show-business, money and social-climbing women, he just didn't know how to navigate it all properly and I'm sure many other people, myself included, would've had a hard time with it all as well. Elvis needed a team of professionals and I cant believe for the life of me how he didn't have lawyers, accountants and real management and security, wow its just unbelievable that he lasted as long as he did under those conditions. His Father was a total idiot for letting things go on the way he did, I get the impression that having been dirt poor created a situation of him just not trusting anyone with their money, i get it, but its also stupid!!!😢
