I'm 7 days in, this was a big help! I've been doing blended soups as you said, I've found melting some soft cheese like Stilton through the soup is more satiating. Yeah the weight loss with probably continue until the diet is over. Afterwards you’ll be able to gain it back slowly. Just make sure you keep taking care of your lifestyle

I’m a 37 yr old and I just had this surgery on 7/18. I barely have an appetite so the 2 week liquid diet may not be too bad. I’m still sore especially in my shoulders and upper chest area. Hopefully this is a one and done thing. I could barely eat prior to the surgery without being in pain due to more than half of my stomach being pushed into my chest. Good luck to anyone else thinking about doing this procedure.
@Yuli Hello, well honestly the going out was the easy part for me. I didn’t go out until now, like recently. And I’m not real drinker so the first frozen margarita I seen it was hard for me. Hi Carlos and all, I am candidate for the Hiatal Hernia repair and doing my due diligence before making that decision. My procedure is the Nissan Fundoplication which I told the doctor I don’t want to do any mesh or implanted devices, which was for. Have some questions: 1) Are you still taking anti-acid medication? One of the main reasons I want to consider the surgery is to get off Omeprazole as I’ve had Drs tell me to get off the Omeprazole as its not great for you and has potential for early dementia, true or not. 2) I read where you can no longer burp and will have have bad stomach cramps/bloating going forward. 3) Given your recovery, what time frame should someone expect to back to work? 4) Would you do it again or anything you would do different? 3) Is it painful to swallow after surgery like having a sore throat. Not new to surgeries but like to be prepared and armed as no surprises
1) I got back on them because I went on vacation and I didn't want my acid to be a major issue. 2) I was not able to burp with my Nissen 3) Doctor said after 2 weeks you should be fine if not less time depending on how you feel and what kind of job you have. 4) I wouldn't get the Nissen. I wouldn't get the mesh either. Probably would have gone with a less invasive procedure first. 5) I wouldn't call it panful but more discomfort since your LES is inflamed after surgery.
There is a diet called the elemental diet, also there is a product called Elemental Heal which may work really good for post op. You get all your vitamins and protein is predicated making it easy on the gut. Also. You could drink enough calories to where you don't loose weight.

That’s so unfortunate. It’s already hard enough to get sick years after post op and you’re only 12 days out… I’m really sorry you’re going through that!
Hello Carlos thanks for sharing your experience i had my surgery on Monday and im on the liquid diet now. Can you give me suggestions on how and what you specifically had to eat on the liquid diet days?
I am scheduled to have this surgery in the next few weeks I have read some articles that mentioned some patients experience changes in the amount of food they were able to eat after a month of the surgery I suppose since part of your stomach is wrapped it could be but wondering if you had this experience. I have read about losing some weight because of the strict diet right after the surgery but wondering if I would be able to eat normal again or have to prepare myself to eat like a bird . Which it won’t matter if I have good health just trying to be prepared. Also did you have any other side effects like unable to belch or vomit? Thanks for the insight.
I personally felt like I got full faster but that was mainly because of the gas and bloating produced from the surgery. I did lose weight because of the liquid diet but ended up gaining it back. I was not able to vomit and the gas was so bad. It is still bad to this day!
I personally believe it can be normal but that’s just my opinion. Check with your surgeon and let him know about your symptoms. This is a big surgery so it takes sometime to heal.
I have cystic fibrosis and acid reflux could be deadly for me (getting in my lungs and all). I had this operation years ago. Had the doctor's freaking out caz I ate a sandwich right after I woke up from surgery 😂😂😂. They asked me if it got stuck and I was like yeah I could feel it piling up in my throat but I just filled my mouth up with water, swallow it all and flushed it through. I'm probably a rare case of being able to do that but yeah lol. It wasn't really even my fault either nobody told me I was supposed to be on liquid diet or anything they continued my regular diet of "whatever he asks for he gets" and everything. I've never had a problem with it. Water trick always works. Edit: the sandwich was turkey lettuce tomato onion bacon on a bun. Pretty much all the stuff your not supposed to have!
You finessed the system lol! I’m glad it was a god experience for you. That liquid diet hits different. I got a sandwich after my LINX and the doctor told the nurses I was supposed to be on a liquid diet for a couple of days

@Carlos Granados doctor said it went well. I feel OK bit uncomfortable. It feels like fluid takes a while to go all the way down but I've had worse. Thanks for asking
@@David-bc5xu it’s probably the inflammation from the surgery as well, I hope you have a speedy recovery. Get lots of rest!
Finally coming off my liquid diet for 6 weeks lost a lot of weight first at 213 ,202, 198. 180
6 weeks? That’s such a long time! I hope yin are able to eat everything at this point!
@@CarlosGranados1 it's kinda hard still making me feel full
Not to be nosy but how much did the lynx cost you it's expensive here in California?
In total about 12k +. I paid out of pocket because I didn’t have insurance for that particular surgeon at that time.
I’m 12 days post op and I have no appetite. My husband contracted RSV which now I have. I cough constantly and I swear I’ve bruised a rib doing so. I don’t even notice anything related to surgery because I’ve been so incredibly sick ended up in ED 8 days post op. I’m taking cough syrup and Mucinex. I get maybe 300/500 calories a day. It’s been a horrible combination.
I ate a lot of jello, apple sauce, I blended soups from panera and liquified them, fried beans because that is big in our culture, etc.
But don't the panera soups have a lot of ingredients I thought we need to stay light for 2 weeks
Thanks for the reply but I love the panera soups but aren't they too heavy for our liquid diet?
@@ginab.5904 they do but I got the broccoli soup and when you blended it everything is liquified. So you don’t have to chew anything.
@@ginab.5904 they were not heavy for me. That kept me from losing so much more weight.
Hi do you still do deep breathing exercises? My doc has suggested to do that for life long
I always do breathing exercises! It helps me release my diaphragm.
Can someone give me full diet plan as I have fundoplication surgery two week ago
I’m not sure if there is any specific diet plan. The doctor always provides instructions though.
Did you removed your linx and redo the nissen again ??
I got the nissen taken down and had the linx implant.
I went through fundoplication surgery 3 days ago ...i m taking liquid diet but I m having dysphagia .is it normal or is it problem please reply sir 🙏🙏
I personally believe it can be normal but that’s just my opinion. Check with your surgeon and let him know about your symptoms. This is a big surgery so it takes sometime to heal.
Hi sanjeev ji ab kaise ho
Hi Carlos
Thanks for great information.
I have a question, when can I air travel after the fundoplication surgery?
What do you mean air travel? Like gas or burping?
@@CarlosGranados1 how long do I need to wait for flight travel to another country after the surgery?
@@Completelysuper I’m not sure if there are any rules towards traveling after surgery. I’m assuming after you start feeling better and you’re healing.
@@CarlosGranados1 thank you Carlos
did you take ppi in the recovering period?
My surgeon told me I could take PPI’s for a month or so if it was necessary.
@@CarlosGranados1 oh I forgot to mention. I also had a g-tune put in at the same time. The most doctors told me was we can use your G tube to get rid of excess gas, you don't have to worry about that. But no word of a liquid diet etc. Thought that was strange
That's interesting. I am not sure if I had a G tube myself.
How long does fundoplication last
That is something I don't know. A lot of people have different stories.
How long you can eat normally the choking part is scary
i started implementing solid foods after the two weeks

Hello. I have also done this surgery. Two weeks now. When will the symptoms like Heart burn goes away. I m still having it post surgery. Thanks
I am not sure I can answer that. I will say just give it time since you are fresh out of surgery.
How do you feel now? Are the symptoms gone?
Hello there Carlos, I wish I had seen your video 8 months ago or so. I had mild acid reflux and dr. Talked me into tif procedure which failed in 3 month(one stitch came off?!? And I don’t wanna go through anymore pain procedure )
Now I actually have more symptoms of acid reflux then before surgery 24/7.
Dr. Want me to go through Nissen fundoplication. Which I declined it. I have a question… will I feel feeling acid reflux forever until I do another surgery or is there any hope to feel better. I had more gerd now I have massive health issues. I’m so frustrated.
I’m sorry to hear that. Same happen to me with my surgeries. I am not sure how to answer that because we are all different. If I were you I would get second and third opinions and keep doing as many testings as you can so ever tu ally you can narrow down how to handle your issues.
Thank you. And hope you feel better. I’m praying hard, harder then ever before. Plz keep me in your prayers as I do for you. 1peter 5:9-10. I’m taking word of God as my daily pills 💊.

I just got this surgery on Wednesday May 22nd and I’m already feeling lost with what to eat. I want to do this right so that I can eventually be able to eat normally when the time comes. Can you recommend me some food for the first week and then I ask you every week until the 6 weeks are up? Think it’d be better to text you on instagram or something?
