Never heard it called Keymaster, I've always called that Midguard ruclips.net/video/i879exkuWUY/видео.html No matter what it's called though it works great! I love collar sleeve and I love same side xguard so it's the perfect combo
I'm trying the key master hook, but my opponent makes me look like what I'm doing is stupid, that I'm giving him the ankle lock. Why is it that whenever I try a new technique, people look to me as if I'm doing nonsense ? If I do Marcelo Garcia elbow push, people will say that I'm shrimping the wrong side and giving my back
Every time I watch a video of yours my game gets better. I’ve been using these positions without really understanding them. You do a great job summing things up. Thanks Jon!
Hey Jon, amazing tutorial as always. Do you have any recommendations on instructionals I could get to really do a deep dive into the Keymaster position? As I see this could be a really good part of my game. Have been playing around with it for a while and I would really like to get a firm understanding of the position. Cheers!
This is very similar to the nogi K guard Lachlan was using last ADCC. How this works in gi was exactly what I was looking for! Thanks.
If you revist this, could you show the Triangle entries as their non-obvious - at least to this shitty blue belt.
Watch Tommy Langaker if you want to see how powerful this position is. He is amazing at using collar sleeve and keymaster to submit guys.

Thank you Jon, these moves are helpful to me because these are positions I find myself in each training session!

Nice! You have some of the best instruction on the net. Would you mind describing the "heel"detail of your ankle lock?
is this dangerous for the knee (LCL on keymaster hook)? Is there still risk even if you are very skilled at the position?
The Key Master Hook looks a bit dangerous to the knees. What are things to keep in mind regarding safety with this move?
thanks 1st ^^
Nice!! Thanks!

The 3 ankle locks at 4:01 is it legal for white belts?

The matrix is awesome. Never thought to do that from x. You ever get kneebar countered?
Love the 3 options and clarity of explanation about when to go for each option - thanks Jon!
