  • A flyover at 300ft (90m) of th Village of Eastry in Kent.
Eastry is a Civil parish around 2.5miles Southweast of sandwich.
The name Eastry is derived from the Old English East-rige, meaning "Eastern Province"
The village lies on the Roman road north from Dover to Richborough Castle
Eastrys parish church is Grade I listed and houses a brass standard bushel measure given in 1792.
The East Kent Light Railway once ran through Eastry which then had 2 passenger stations. The Line opened to freight in 1911 and passengers in 1916
The railway was completely closed in 1951 and virtually no trace of it remains today.
