Love the video man, I dig the humourous elemenets! I may be the VP of a riding group, but I mostly ride solo for the reason you mentioned. Most riders take forever to do what they gotta do at a stop and they want to stop a lot. I'm like you G Kue. I like to get up and go (early), go at a good pace and not do a lot of stops. It's about riding, not about standing around a gas station.

My daughter and her husband both ride but what they call going out for a ride is heading to their favorite bar for a drink and a bite to eat then off to the the next bar. They do the same thing in the winter on the sleds. They have never done a long road trip.
I have yet to ever go ride with them because I like to ride and only ever stop for gas unless something cooler than me on my Road King catches my 👀🎉 unless my day trip is one where I intend to make stops to enjoy the beautiful views inside the parks.
G Kue make sure you plan for lots of stops when you do your going to the Sun road ride in glacier park.
That is one ride you will not regret stopping every five minutes.

Great point about the cost of a motorcycle. Even if you avoid upgrading just purchasing riding gear can add up quick. But getting out there and forgetting the worries of work and other stresses is good for the soul and makes it all worth it. Keep it rubber side down 🤞.

JUST BROKE MY LIFE TIME piggy bank and got the cash deal of my life time dream of a "NEW" Harley Davidson... 2023 soft tail Sandard, the only one me me because I refuse to finance. This is my 4th Harley in my life, but this is the first new one. I DID PURCHASE my 2023 Softail standard at Twin Cities HD, Lakeville, Minnesota, USA, Diego and all the folks there did me right on the deal. I paid extra to have drag bars put on her before she rolls out. spent a year at a few dealers and Twin Cities HD, Lakeville, Minnesota, USA are tops in my book. Still riding my 2018 Kawasaki Zed 900 naked for those zippy moments. Keep up the good work. Like your style.👍👍👍

Good pts about the custom parts. It may help sell the bike quicker but you'll never get all that money back. Better to put the original parts back on and keep your aftermarket parts for the next bike or to sell separate. 👍

Yeah, just did a 1382 mile round trip ride from southeast Pennsylvania to Myrtle Beach South Carolina and back this past weekend. Went down to see my brother and to have Amsoil Adam at Myrtle Beach Bike Week install a set of Love Jugs on my 2022 Heritage. 12 hours each way on the road. Did 5 gas stops each way. Each stop was enough to gas up, check engine oil, Mother Nature call if needed and to grab some water. Each stop no more than 20 minutes, less time if Mother Nature call not needed.
That's how it should be!

I get road commander 3 off the net both tires for 450 take to shop mount and balance for 50 per tire so around 600. My local Harley dealership charges close to 1k. I live in one of the most expensive places in the u.s.
@Sparky Spark Yup, I buy tires online. I've tried to do them myself but getting the bead to seat can be a challenge. Hit and miss.

I do my own tires and have no issues with setting the beads.
A little lube makes a big difference.
Just want to make sure and take plenty of time balancing them perfectly.

Yeah like a mini rest stop. I agree those gas stops are for hydration and stretching 2 hrs on the bike then 15 to 20 minutes helps me enjoy the riding experience. But if the conditions call for a quick stop I can do it.
I do small breaks but when we got 13-14 hrs days...we gotta make the most out of the daylight. But you are correct! Stretching and hydration is extremely important!

SPOT ON with all of these for the most part......although I have usually done pretty well when I sell my bikes....guys want them because of all the stuff I did to them and usually try to lowball me, right to the point where they say all my add ons dont increase the price and I say fine, I will take all that off and return it to stock... :D. Figure your addons are worth about 40-50% for the COST OF THE PARTS....you cant include labor....and you will usually get close to that back....if not, remove it all and sell it on the side....

The rice cooer had us rolling...We organize many group rides and definitely can relate to people taking all day at stops. BTW Kake purchased he Gold wing F6b from a Harley dealership. And yes they are a great group of people...Even though she purchased a Honda from them, they still invite us to all their events.

I would say the best thing to do is to figure out what features you want on the bike. Search for a used one and then purchase it. There are bikes that are already customized and may have most if not all of the major things you want on it. That is less money coming out of your pocket. Then you'll have more time on the road enjoying the bike versus having it in the shop being customized.

its almost worse then owning a boat always braking out another grand for something from dakatoa digital gauges, handlebars, upgrades for stage kits on engine, better seat blah blah never ending i own a trike and damn just never ending. Also so true never meet a rude rider always willing to help see someone broke down always stop always kind and helpful so much of what you said is true man ride safe
The money pit never ends lol but luckily there's great people to meet and hang with along the way...stay safe friend!
Thats why i buy used HD's that have low miles....under 10K...and as maintence and replacement parts....I buy aftermarket...(Dennis Kirk) and (Cyclegear)....Great low prices....and i do 90% of the work myself...

The dealership one goes across the board for sure. I went to 2 different Indian dealerships the first one were assholes the second ones were amazing and ended up buying my bike from them it’s really about the environment their in if it’s a smaller dealership their normally under more pressure to just sell and not care about the customer as much

I have owned Harleys my whole adult life but never purchased a new one, never have I ever spent over 7k I own an Arlen Ness show bike that I bought off of craigslist for 6k with 3300mi. I never deal with dealerships for anything, just a huge rip off. I am totally that guy who smokes on every break... I don't do hotels I pack a tent, when I'm on the road I just push in free camping.

The actual cost of buying a brand new $30,000 Harley-Davidson off the showroom floor.
1. $700 new seat ( because the factory seat sucks)
2. $1200 new handlebars ( because the factory handlebars suck)
