I usually don't like leaving two comments, but it's worth mentioning that Fallout Tabletop is on sale on Humble Bundle for the next 7 days as of writing this comment. It includes the rules for both Wasteland Warfare and the Wasteland Warfare RPG. And Modiphius (who published those) have also recently released their Fallout Tabletop Role Playing Game though that's not part of the Bundle.
oooh Nice! thanks for this intel
For anyone wanting or trying to bring friends into the hobby, I've been far more successful with Wasteland Warfare than I was with Kill Team, War Cry and Bighammer. The smaller teams and more "accessible" lore and setting makes it a lot easier to hook them in. Then once you've got them sucked into the board game scene, you start dumping the big games on them and get them rightly addicted.
just you wait, the amazon 40k show will get them all hooked
I cannot stress enough how amazing it is that you show all the little mistakes and just role with it. It helps me being more brave when it comes to just going with it and trying stuff out with confidence. Thank you Peachy. Also loving Juggz! Rogue peaches for the win :)
You are so welcome! im very much in the camp of showing the warts n all side of painting....and if it gives you confidence....all the better. cheers
I see Peachy. I like. I see Fallout. I like. Win, win!
And thankfully....
Peachy! Peach never changes!
hahahaha ROFL!!!!!
"water, council pop, aqua, life juice" xD Great video again!
Peachy, love it. The guide, the music... Love it. ❤
Awesome!!!! Thanks 😍😍😍
The vallejo rust pigment powder set is banger. Rust comes out looking very real
Something I've been doing with my iron warriors, is brushing water into the recesses, loading my brush up with an orange, and letting the water soak away some of the paint through Capillary action. So in effect a highly pigmented wash/shade. Adds some more colour punch and is alot more targeted.
I wish there was a way to reliably varnish dirty down's rust but it doesn't really seam all that compatible with it. Especially not without risking it frosting.
Sneaking in a full how to paint BoS tutorial. Legend
Hahaha! I was hoping someone would notice lol
Quick and Easy!!!
Those looks awesome. I really like the Dirty Down Rust one the most. I've always been too scared to try it, but after this video I am brave enough to give it a try. Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you for watching, it is rust talent in a bottle, just needs a bloody good stir and shake before use…..it’s the only product I really make an effort to shake now lol
Hint for dirty down rust, use that hair dryer to heat up the bottle. Use a mixing ball. Even stir it up with a Popsicle stick. Then start applying. Before it is dry start feathering with water.
Fallout is fantastic I remember seeing it in the back of old Prima Guide book for Baldur's Gate 2. I saw the Power Armour (T-51b) which I obliviously thought was the Vault Suit (the blurb actually made it sound like the Vault Suit was Power Armour thanks to Fallout 2 saying something like "Don the Vault Suit and save your people." Honestly I have always wanted to paint Space Marines like the Power Armour from Fallout but the amount of Silver Marines throw me everytime.
Here I am, re-doing some old O&G sculpts for my O&G old world army. Can't really decide to commit to what base, have a preference but doubting which sand/deserty look to give. *see a new peachy tips episode", watch it.. Aaaaaaaand I see your maximus base and now I know what to do for my bases. I really love your content. Very rarely I don't pick out a (few) tips or tricks from your clips. Just want you to know how much fun and inspiration you give ^^ Now excuse me while I am off to get me some Sandy desert and Rust tone ;)
Hahaha! Amazing , we’ll I’m glad to have helped in your basing dilemma 😍🙏😍
And thanks for watching too 😘
Great video! When using enamel washes, like Streaking Grime, I always find that I get a better effect by letting the enamels fully dry before going in with the Q-Tip/cotton bud. It leaves more of the grime in the nooks & crannies, and gives it a more worn look in my opinion.
Great advice, thank you 🫶
So here I am staring at a set of unpainted Raiders, considering how to approach then and along comes Peachy with a handy rust tutorial.
It's kismet.
Mind you, I don't actually have any of the products mentioned, but your casual confidence and 'roll with it' attitude helps me to commit to just seeing how I go with Typhus Corrosion and Agrax Earthshade and not worrying too much.
That’s the best way to approach, just have some fun
Completely off topic but I love the word kismet and honestly can't remember the last time I've seen anyone use it 👍
Someone on RUclips that made a mistake, showed it, and then took a positive outlook on the mistake?? Heresy! Madness!
Awesome video though. Loved the side by side comparison of the options.
Hahaha! Tbh I make a lot of mistakes, or happy little accidents 🤣
Thanks Mr. P awsome video as usual
Love you Peachy 😘
😘😘😘
This video is pure gold Mr Peach, albeit rusty gold. I love it.
Hahaha! Rusty gold sounds like a metallic peach paint for my ‘new range’ lol
Nice! The last method looks really simple and satisfying to do.
Tbh it was hard picking a favouritebut the streaking Grime did feel like a super quick hack
Love the fallout content! Would love to see some more!
Ooooh, Fallout! Peachy ridin' the trends, yeah! Jokes aside, great video as usual! 👍
Thanks peach! A master-class on dirty down. Now i know where i went wrong haha
I'd suggest AK's Rust Streaks over Streaking Grime for rust effects.
Another tip? Watered down Ryza Rust is a thing. In fact, dry paints make excellent washes as their pigment count is very high.
Another great Video Peachy, thank you for the time and effort put in! The internet misses your banter, do you have any plans for casual chat episodes? I feel like a hang out and paint type format would be just perfect 👌
Yeah that’s a cool shout, I have some more talky head vids planned, but myself, Louise and Rob the honest wargamer have a podcast out now called JUGGZ the podcast……the name was Louise’s idea btw 😂
@@PeachyTips ok, I’m immediately off to find that…! Why am I not surprised that the name was her idea 😂 she’s mad in the best possible way. But then, you all are. Much love to you all, thanks for keeping us all sane!
@@PeachyTipsyou guys went along with the name. You can’t blame Louise. 😂
I love the dirty down effects, they are like magic in a bottle. My only issue with them is they always look so realistic the rest of the paint job looks weird 😅 it’s definitely amazing, but absolutely works better with more realistic style painting than say comic book style.
Thats a fair, i suppose if those things don't bother you, its definitely a speedy way to get a cool effect...but totally see your point.
Loving the show. Might finally look into Wasteland Warfare.
Love the council pop reference
😆👍 love me some council pop
A rusty peach…….hmmmmmmmm I know there’s a joke there somewhere 😂😂😂😂😂 amazing vid mate
Brilliant as ever Peachy!
Great work!
Great video! The Red Shield on the arm means the Wearer holds the rank of knight. Higher ranks have different / additional markings
Thanks for the info! 🙌
Cool effects and good work there old Chap 😊
Fallout minis are great. Hope to see more
Peachy for Overseer!
hahaha! unfortunately I'm from Vault 33....apparently i need to come from 31 for that privilege
Ave. True to Caesar.
I am so dang happy that you did fallout mini's i'm on my fourth team, been testing different methods with each one.
Honestly fallout is one of those games where the "Peachy Dragoons" fit very well.
Hell you can have them be a bunch of pre war British ghouls on a quest to make the perfect brew of tea. Or a wandering band of nuka cola addicts who became bald due to to much radiation from the soda they crave.
Hahaha! I might actually find a way to make this happen lol
@PeachyTips do it!!
There's a company from Texas. I believe that makes pre painted vault terrain, they have post apocalyptic palace guard models that would fit super well lol.
@PeachyTips if you do it, I'll definitely make a set the way you do it.
Please do more Fallout minis! It’s my favorite mini game and would love to see more love for it!
well i do have a load of Raiders and some Gunners to work through.......
Midwinter showed his 2 year old tank with the Dirty Down. While the product is good, it is meant for props and such that need to good only for a while. It goes bad with time.
Awesome, as always, Peachy.
I've had Wasteland Warfare for so long, i had no clue they were making minis from the show for it. (Havent really kept up with that game since crisis protocol, frosthaven, shatterpoint)
Tbf there’s a lot of great games out there it’s hard to keep track, I’m just discovering the delights of Frostgrave and Stargrave…..all because so many folks recommended it
I love rust, I love Fallout 11/10. I've just painted up The Pack:)
Same…..go rust or bust 😂👍
I see that Blacktalons box at the back, gold armour tutorial next?
Well, I do have a plan for gold armour, but I’ll save the black talons for another vid. Well spotted though
Another great video to bask in His peachy glory! Unfortunately nothing in this video is available at a reasonable price where I live (the paints nor minis lol), hope to get some of those minis one day. I've been using typhus corrosion citadel paint for this kind of thing though it's not quite the same, but looks good enough hidden in little drain pipes and in machinery nooks and crannies I suppose.
Uh no! That sucks, well your solution sounds pretty decent though, and thanks for the message 😍🙏😍
Crawl out through the fallout baby! I used dirty down for the first time this month on an ork truckk.
In places it looks amazing but i feel like it's quite hard to control? Particularly over things that aren't panels.
Happy little mistake……. Peachy has crossed the rubicon and transformed into bob ross 👍💯😂
😂😂😂
Love the game... I'm looking forward to seeing your take on Gunners.
That's awesome you are painting Fallout minis! I really like them and the tabletop game looks really good too!
Yeah I have a fair few to build and paint, so I expect I’ll have more fallout content down the line 👍👍👍
Great video. I need to get some of those Fallout miniatures. Have you tried Flory Models weathering washes. I’ve used them on military models both the standard and thick. They are water based and can be reactivated by water but give similar results to streaking grime without the need for thinners.
Last time I encountered the republic of Dave he was off to old olney to start again….
Fantastic... These BoS dudes look awesome...
Thank you for sharing - we want more Fallout content ❤🎉
Well, “I’m not going to get into the fallout game” isn’t being helped by this video
Love how all these turned out
Heyo, new subscriber, loving ya stuff, Here from Juggz :D
😘😘😘 aww thanks
Great video - please more Fallout content ❤❤❤
Love these minis, got the minis from the TV show on the way so may have a crack at dirty down (I'd love to give streaking grime a go but I'm not going near AK).
Unrelated to the video itself, where is the music from, I'd love to use it for some ttrpg actual plays.
I was always more of a Skyrim guy growing up, but MAN have I been hyped on Fallout lately. I also love that Modiphius was ready with the tie-in miniatures. Feels like sometimes we have to wait YEARS before pop culture characters find their way to the tabletop *ahem* Star Wars Legion *ahem*
Hahaha! yeah im a big Skyrim/Elder Scrolls guy, i suppose im more a Fantasy lover over Sci Fi...but that's just cos i like swords....and Star Wars has frickin LASER SWORDS!!!! but yeah i will look at doing some more Legion stuff
Man I really need to get some Dirty Down Rust...
The red shield on the arm is the rank insignia!
Aha! Amazing thanks bud, now I know 🙌🙌🙌
Glad to see you East Midlanders also call it council pop too 💪 (West Midlander speaking)
Hahaha! Love me some council pop
I legit just Started playing Fallout 4.. a few days ago... it will be my first real play through of a fallout game.
Nice! I love the games, 4 has to be my favourite, especially the settlement building aspect…..I spend waaaay to long building the defences lol
@@PeachyTips I have dabbled a bit... I DEFINITELY don't need to spend more time in a video game 😂😅😆😵💫
Great video. I wonder if you could speedpaint an army of necrons, iron warriors or even skeletons with this technique? 🤔
I reckon you definitely could
Thanks Peachy, I have 6 T-60s on my painting table as we speak :-D
Oh nice! I really want some enclave to paint up
@@PeachyTips man I do too. Quite hard to get some of the models now. The little short you did on dark armour would probably work for enclave too.
Oooh yes, nice 👌
The fourth method is using that paint with actual metal in it that you are supposed to use alcohol to thin, as water literally causes the paint to go rusty (this is an actual thing). Add water. Bob’s your uncle. Never tried it, but science says it would work.
Great video! Have you tried army painters new dark rust and fresh rust effects paints? I would be interested to see how they compare.
Ooh I’ll look into those 👍👍👍
I do love the dirty down effect but it can be a real pain to get right some times
Today I learned that it pays to read the paint names which pop up when these are applied, even if it's only water...😄
Loving the videos dude! Could you show us your take on some ww2 stuff? I really like your method and explanations!
I do have plans for some WW2 stuff 😍👍
@@PeachyTips amazing dude, can't wait!
Babe the crying baby can wait, Peachy's posted a new video.
😂😂😂 the baby’s crying cos they wanna watch too…..right?
@@PeachyTips actually, I think she's crying out for a video on painting 15mm epic Napoleonic troops..... Specifically the French...
Aha! Well I’d better get on that 😂
Do like the alt schemes for the power armour in the Fallout 4 game..
Could be minutemen, vaultec, nuka -cola…
Asking the other half for a cup of life juice could have interesting results… 😅
thank you! ..how would you paint scorched armor?
Questions Peachy !
With the streaking grim, while you started to apply it, did you also put thinner + Grime to "coat" it before the removal process?
Did you also , wait for the grim to dry first or did you remove it while it was still wet?
I thinned it down with thinners before the removal process, and then removed some whilst it was wet, and a bit whilst it was dry.
Sorry that that part wasn’t as clear as it could’ve been
@@PeachyTips All good mate, just double checking. I have used Streaking Grim and I added it without any thinners and let it dry then used thinners to wipe away the parts on the exposed / raised parts.
This seemed to "stain" / Darken the original paint , so maybe adding thinners while applying will help avoid staining the paint.
Aha! I see, regardless I still think I could’ve been clearer though lol. Hopefully using thinners will yield cleaver results 🤞
Good to know. Got dirty down rust and painted a few skeleton swords and ended up with shiny red swords 😂. I'll give it another go and hope I'm not too....rusty at it.
Can never get my dirty down to work, no amount of wrist breaking shaking or stirring fixes it (just a dud I guess).
I have another rust effect to you however, I used Armypainter's first Speedpaint range 'hardened leather' which is brown with a little bit of red to it, applied that over metal like a wash, repainted the metal + dry brush where it's supposed to shine and there you go. I'm sure there's a better contrast/speedpaint/express paint, but the level of opacity, more than a wash, leaves more of the effect in the recesses and around studs and the like.
Not good for in-the-hand master pieces, but perfect for assembly line orks or other armies with tons of models.
Sorry to hear about your dirty down, but sounds like that’s a great option for rust, I’ll give it a go 👍👍👍
Have you tried the Army painter rust effects yet?
Bugger! Well looks like they’ll be a part 2 then hahaha
finaly fallout!
Overall Signor Peach, how are you finding fanatic paints?
im finding them to be excellent, i like that they have a matt finish...not super matt, but not shiny either like citadel can be.....the metallics are ace...and they have a load of technical paints too. i have a big bundle of them...and im still working through the range lol
The reason people heat the dirty down bottle is to heat up and dislodge the sludge at the bottom. which makes it much more punchy. which is why your first application wasnt to your liking.
Goblin green rims only
Are the fruity thinners Peach flavour? ;)
You da real dogg peach 🍑
uve got fanatic range? Wheres that review video peachy, WHERE?
I guess I’ll do a review video then 😂
"You're not going to play in the bath." Speak for yourself Peachy
Hahaha! Well I guess I should avoid making those sweeping statements 😂😂😂
Ad Victoriam
Fantastic video! It was a bit difficult to follow whilst headbanging along to the background music \m/
Haha! sorry about that...it was a bit too metal i think....or maybe the right amount...hmmm not sure.
"Don't go mad."
i dont remember starting a republic..
Well you did, and I hear it’s the place to be 😂
Wowzers, I wonder what taxes I can collect! For my first decree, @PeachyTips needs to paint some minis at a proper scale - some 10mm forest dragon stuff would be good…. (I know you have a 3D printer now!)
Well that’s been delayed as Kirioth was ill, but yes I’ll certainly consider it
@@PeachyTips oh no, hope he gets better soon x
The “includes paid promotion” alert(?) covers the name of the paint 😅 at least on PS4’s RUclips app 🤷
Oh bugger! What was the time stamp….i can tell you the colour lol
@@PeachyTips what if I told you the whole video.. it never went away 🤷 when painting I’m usually in the kitchen for better lighting watching on my phone.. the alert doesn’t appear there 😅
Oh wow…..that’s annoying, maybe I’ll try moving the swatch about just incase this happens to a lot of folks, bloody tech
