- This video is about Gee Bee QED. Besides being a great story of the building of an airplane, it is an even better story of how friends get together to help each other.
When people come together for a common purpose, the sky is not the limit. Lyle... thank you for bringing me along!
My Dad, George S. Armistead, was a test piolet in the 30's and 40's. He flew a GEEBEE Q.E.D. in the 1938 national air race! He lost oil pressure and was un-able to finish the race. The original Q.E.D. he flew is in a one plane museum in Soelidad, Mexico. I have little memory of him, he died in Pacific Palisades, Ca. in 1954. BUT! I have a scale model Q.E.D. GeeBee RC that I have hanging in my living room, in Big Bear Lake, Ca. Thanks for your replica of a famous race plane, George K. Armistead
You guys have done the Granville Brothers Proud! Great Plane!
Beautiful aircraft Well Done!
Magnifique..Extraordinaire splendide machine.......felicitation !!
Beautiful! It breaks my heart to hear that Jim won't be there to see it fly.
What an awesome beast of an airplane!
Never heard of this particular model. I do like the shape and lines of it. The 3 blade prop seems to add a bit to the styling although, I'm sure it's purpose was to absorb as much of that 1400 Hp.as possible. The other GeeBees' with 2 blades always looked as if they barely had enough propeller extending beyond the cowling to provide any thrust. Must have been enough though...they did pretty well in the racing. This is one beautiful airplane! I'll be waiting to see it fly!
Those people live in airplane heaven.
Džíbíčko velikosti Thunderbolta! To vidím poprvé !
Fantastic!
Awesome project and people. Thanks for your effort for sure. Simply can't understand the 6 thumbs down on this video. This is an all thumbs up (except he did not get to live to see it fly) video.
Thak you for not adding Andrews Sisters music..... This is great!
