the awkward moment when a evil satanic band makes the most romantic, beautiful and sad song of the year.
Beautiful song.. Nothing evil about it
@The Legend Himself but they kinda satanic, in a theatrical way
Breaks my fucking heart every time. Tobias is brilliant. Don’t care.
Hey man Satan deserves Love too
not evil just satanic💘🤠
Tobias Forge wrote this song about his big brother Sebastian who died in 2010 on the same day Ghost released their first two songs.
This is my theory also. But it's not fact?
Lmao this was already made lul
DaP84 he is just dumb
@@MisaelWolf Calm down ffs..
After hearing an interview recently about this, if it's about anything else I'd be surprised. Poor lamb
I always interpreted that Tobias Forge wrote this song as a tribute to his brother who passed away very young, right before Ghost became popular. Prequelle came out when I lost a family member, and this song always makes me cry. Thanks for reacting!
This is a beautiful song. I've broken down to it before. Prequelle's such a beautiful album. Tobias has said that he considers it a "positive record about death". It deals with mortality very intimately and encourages you to enjoy and treasure your life. It's personally my favorite album from Ghost and probably their least blasphemous. I don't know why that part is a factor for me because I'm an atheist and haven't minded their Satanic content in the previous albums but the theme of death just seems to hit home more for me.
Take my like.
@@sicboi80 thank you
You described it perfectly its such a beautiful song that really evokes feelings of emotion and what feeling of your own you can put into the song
@@redhotchilifan98 Thanks :) yeah I love the song. The line "This is the moment of just letting go" really speaks to me
@@neonspec I gotchu boo
Btw, I still don't agree/don't get what Sori's saying when she says that Ghost songs all sound the same. Nothing could be further from the truth imo. Tobias has tons of diversity. I request both Mummy Dust and Ghuleh/Zombie Queen. 2 great Ghost songs that you've yet to do. If you think those songs are anything like each other, you're on drugs hehe :P
Ghuleh/Zombie Queen, that song made that whole album (Infestissumam) go from mediocre to good in my opinion. I would love to see their reaction when the second part of the song starts.
@@nicklassjodin1974 I love Infestissumam. It's probably my least favorite of the 4 albums so far and took a while to grow on me but I love it now. Ghuleh/Zombie Queen is definitely one of the best on there :D . Also love Year Zero, Body and Blood and Monstrance Clock.
Exactly, one of the best things about Ghost is that their songs are so diverse. You can't possibly listen to this and Square Hammer and say that they all sound the same...
Zombie queen is a bit of an outlier in their discography. They don't really have any other song like it. I wish they would expiriment with some more progressive sounding songs like that one but for the most part they just don't. Avalanche is the only other song that I can think of that sounds vastly different
God forbid ghost sounds like ghost haha
This album and song in particular have been helping me get through a tough time. I had to put my dog down Oct 15th and this song reminds me of her. God, I miss her so much!!
Sorry for your lost
Aw, man.... My dog died last night. Literally about 18 hrs ago. I'm hurting quite badly after losing my best friend for 11 years.
I've heard this song many many times before, and it never really touched me. This time, I cried like a baby.
I hope you''re keeping up.
I'm sorry for both of you! Our dog died after a complication of a surgery in June and I heard this song the day after and it made me cry. I love ghost, I hope they're around for a long time.
Thank you, fellas!
So can relate, my dog is dying and it's breaking my heart....so sorry for your loss
I think this was an enjoyable repetitive song because it's one of those that keeps building up bigger and bigger. The longer it goes, the more huge the chorus becomes. So even if the lyrics are repetitive, the instrumentals build and develop throughout.
Speaking of sad, romantic, and beautiful songs by Ghost; the darkness at the heart of my love off their new album is something I'd love to see a reaction to. It's a gorgeous song
Did I see Sori tearing up a bit there??
I think I saw a little sparkle in her eyes...
She often cries, these times. Don't forget she's pregnant...
@@Mythago1971 Also, it's a soft, passionate, song about death. It's pretty easy to get swept up into the idea, and it's a sad, but very true idea, with universal connectivity in its message. I started to get a bit misty because it made me think of my deceased father.
@@liliIiliIilil You're probably right. I'm french and don't understand everything I hear, and even if I do, words won't touch my heart the same way they touch yours.
Sori is very empathic. And sh's pregnant. Today I watched another video. She cried. :)
I thought she was going to cry hahaha
I think when he says this is the moment of just letting go, is implied to both people here. It's the moment of letting go for the person dying, but also the person experiencing the loss. She said if you had life eternal. Which you do not, you will die, why say my name forever? why long for me forever? It will keep you from enjoying the rest of your life.
*There comes a point when you need to let go and move on with your life, because there comes a point when you need to let go and move on from your life.*
He, the metaphor of death and the evil one, sings to his lover who has just died of the plague. He has a final dance with her now lifeless body out of mindless despair for his lost love...but her soul is now immortal and saved. As he wonders if beyond the grave she can sense his longing, which seems endless and provides him a small taste of eternity, she answers from her blessed place, "only if you had eternal life"/if you too were saved. There's also a sense of him being eternal like death personified, and desiring to continually haunt her...saying her name, longing for her, touching her soul: these aren't necessarily positive. She is now beyond death, and so she is beyond his grasp.
Every time I hear this song it reminds me of my dad who passed away 10 months ago. I never got a chance to say good bye as he passed on my way to see him. He was funny as hell and someone I could always turn to. I hope I get to see him again.
this song reminds me of my dad too. He passed away in 2017, in his birthday. We were planning to go to see him, he was at the hospital, when my younger sister called us to say he passed away.
Songs doesn't have to be extremely complex. Sometimes it's better to just keep it simple. :)
Less is more.
Now if you go back and listen to Faith, you will hear the organ at the end and it is foreshadowing this song (playing the melody from "this is the moment of just letting go"). Love this album.
listening to the album for the second or third time, when i heard the end of Faith and heard that melody, the lyrics *immediately* came to mind haha
This small detail is so underrated in the whole concept of this album. One of the most amazing moments in a Ghost's album.
Heard that today 😎
Did we just witness the moment when Vin realised there sometimes are metaphors in poetry and everything isn't meant to be taken literally?
Wow that was beautiful. Tobias's voice was lovely in this one.
I envy how Sori has this emotional connection to always every song she hears
Ghost -. monstrance clock ❤️❤️
Live from Hellfest!
ruclips.net/video/CULRete_Hok/видео.html
Yes... Monstrance Clock!
Fo’ sho
Do the entire album allready! This album is a concept album about the black plague, well sort of a concept album. If you do every song will make more sense.
Exactly.
Somehow I didn’t notice that. I’m doing a presentation on Plague tomorrow in my emerging disease class
Yup definitely this album is to be played all the way through.
Ghost - Witch Image!
A real masterpiece... (like a Prequelle at all)
this song gives me goose bumbs , its about the split second of death , not dying , not dead , but that moment of just letting go .
I was pleasantly surprised by your take on this song. I haven't watched many of your videos, but I love this song. I watched Ghost in concert a few months ago, and I was ugly crying during this song. Those of us who find ourselves outside the Christian culture feel we have only these earthly moments with those we love, and the loss stings deeply. This song captures that for me. Thanks for not knee-jerking against the messenger, Ghost.
I think the reason this didnt "feel" as repetitive is that it had more of a dynamic build to it. The lyrics repeated but the energy of the song built to a crescendo. Good pick. I knew Sori was gonna like this one.
Thank you both for listening and reviewing Life Eternal. Ghost is a great many things to a lot of people. They are definitely more than just singing about “evil.”
Gotta listen to Helvestesfonster going into Life Eternal. They go hand in hand. Looking forward to seeing these guys in Vegas next Saturday.
Ghost witch image.
My daughter just saw Ghost 3 nights in a row. I can't believe she didn't take me. Especially since I took her to see Steel Panther just a year ago.
A lot of their songs are simple like Life Eternal. But they're also beautifully written songs. Sometimes you just have to just sit back and enjoy them for what they are.
Dennis Cooke Ghost & Steel Panther!? You both have an interesting & excellent taste in music
@@JMEAUS22 we've been listening to Steel Panther for years. Think she was a freshman in high school when she heard me listening to them and became a fan. She got me listening to Ghost a few years ago. I love that she has my taste in music. Otherwise she'd be listening to fucking boy bands like her mother. Lol
The Steel Panther show was punishment enough
@@blakebillman300 I loved their show. To each their own.
Ungrateful child!
Steel Panther are awesome live 🤘🏼
Ghost - Ghuleh/Zombie Queen.
Yes, but the acoustic version.
Ohh. The acoustic version!
Cool😎🤘
Yess the acustic version please!
Would you like to join my ghost Facebook group facebook.com/groups/503561830394719/?ref=share
They close the first act of the new tour with this tune...and it's tremendously powerful live! Lots of people have pointed out that the album Prequelle is about the Black Plague...thematically, this song ends the album with the longing for a lost love. Another great review!
You're reactions during the song actually made me cry a little bit.. Love it!
I cried when I heard this for the first time :)
This is the Band i am most excited about and am looking forward to seeing the show at Barclay's on December 15th
This is always a treat to hear your responses. Brings a smile and a laugh!
This was the first wholesome Ghost reaction I've seen from you; really painted you in a different light, your relationship is beautiful❤
(Also I love this song for how emotional it is)
I've been hoping you guys were gonna react to this one at some point i'm so happyyyy ❤
Watching you two relate is honestly couple goals, youre so adorable and wholesome. Godspeed fam 🙏
Stand by Him-Ghost!
Probably this is my favorite song by Ghost, really wanna hear what they think about it
My dad's favorite Ghost song, it's his go to when he's introducing someone to the band.
4:37
Sori looks like she's about to cry. 😢😢
The organ is just awesome cant help to sing along to it.
OMG what an amazing song.........beautiful! This is the first song that touched me, i never felt this before.
This is such a beautiful and romantic song! There should be slot of first dances using this! 💖
I've been waiting for this review! 🖤
Beautiful song, always play in on repeat
This is a great song- we need more ghost reactions!!
Many Ghost songs can be appreciated at most any level and each one is different. This one is about loss of a loved one, but also death by the plague, and also the end of a relationship. In this case the personal meaning (loss), death (album concept), and a situational meaning (the break up and betrayal by his bandmates).
'See the Light' has some amazing lyrics about dealing with negativity
It a simple beautiful song that can really hit you emotionally. I love this band!
I just love this song 💖💖💖
Great reaction video 👍💯
This song is SOOOO beautiful! I cry every time I listen to it! 💙💙💙💙
Good to see you both get teary eyed and like the song! Ghost - Ghuleh / Zombie Queen From "Infestissumam" the sophomore psalm from Ghost B.C. They go together, very unique song structure for Zombie Queen.
Well put. Good love song and review!
vinandsori. I love this song off of the album seeing ghost next Tuesday in my hometown in Sacramento can't wait 👍
I'm so glad you like this song! I think that the repetition gives a feeling of resignation that the person is gone and nothing can be done about it. It would be awesome to maybe see some more GWAR eventually
My fav song from the new ghost album tnx for doing this....
ero tensa mine too
Glad you liked 'the funerary dirge of a violinist by Carach angren ' and another great one would be 'when crows tick on windows'.
Finally ghost, I was scared that you wont do that band ever again. Thank you for the video :)
As a toddler's mother and a Ghost-lover, this video made me cry which I don't often do. You guys are the best 💕
Sorry to hear about your incident today :-/ glad all is well!
Part of liking a song (or anything else I guess) and even rating a song has to include how it resonates with you. I would say resonance, musicality, performance quality, "classicness" are all things that should go into a consideration. This song really resonates with me too. And I suspect it will resonate with almost anyone who has suffered a loss who listens to it. Great vid as always.
This is a beautiful masterpiece.
I'm glad you're ok Sori....I seen the FB pic and I was like oh no i hope she's ok. But anyways awesome video as always!
this song is so lovely! In concert live it's amazing!!
This is a heavy song for me. I absolutely love it but it can make me emotional sometimes due to the reminders it can bring up.
I just saw ghost live on Monday. They rocked! 🤘🏼
Fantastic live band
Saw them Friday. I hope they come back to my area soon.
Saw them in St.Louis. Best time of my life! Played everything you would want in a Ghost set!
I see them Friday
Love you guys! How y'all feeling today? When's the next Fireside?
Sori you nailed it. Beautiful!
Love this channel, click for the Ghost music, stay for the discussion.
Witch Image next please.
I can definitely see this being played in a church and no one batting an eyelid.
I’ve been binge watching this channel
Such a fantastic album and such a beautiful song. 👏👏💙🎶🤘
I love how they discuss about the song for a several minutes.
You two almost instantly reminded me of Dina and Garrett from the NBC sitcom "Superstore".
I think several people have been telling Sori she would connect with this song for a long while - seems we were right :)
A very beautiful song and I am glad you guys agreed. 👍
I hope you guys figgure it out,May GOD BLESS Your relasionship.
Soilwork- death in general!! You guys will love it
Bathory - Oden's Ride Over Nordland/A Fine Day to Die
IMPORTANT: the former is an intro that should go with the latter and there's videos that include both of them, but please DO NOT go for the one with HQ in the title (it's only 480p), there's another one that's in 1080p!
This video: ruclips.net/video/ut7ED9s2pmM/видео.html
Please, please, please do "Miasma" by Ghost - it's from the same album as this. It's an instrumental but it's my favourite instrumental of all time
I love how the song ends. It almost sounds like a cliffhanger. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Ghost's next album/ep picks up where this song left off.
Well it didn't.
Sori on a solo career? Nice.
Good luck Sorm8. Wishing you an vinm8 all the best.
hit Sori right in the feels
Good choice. One of my favorite Ghost songs.
This is a sad song because in the grand scheme of the story the main character is immortal, sold his soul, and the price is watching everything and everyone die..hence that is the moment of just letting go. He has to hold onto the moment forever..such a grand finale of a great concept album.
I love the way you two review ghosts' songs. I would love to hear your thoughts on the ghost songs griftwood and watchers in the sky. please and thank you! If you do it.
Love Ghost! Seen them live in Green Bay WI.....great show❤️
you should've listened this song together with the Helvetesfönster ("Hell's window" an instrumental song), because on the album this and Life Eternal are the last two songs, and they flow into each other so beautifully.
This video brought you all to my attention. I’ve had a couple accounts but I’m back. Side note: I would absolutely dance at my wedding to this song. Beautiful song. Sad and gorgeous
Talk about Tobias voice really could move people. Can't wait till next album coming this winter ❤️
Love this song.. Play this at my funeral..
Please do Ghost Witch Image.
Finally love this song it’s a great song to end the album beautiful song
How beautiful. I so love this band and it's lead singer,Tobias.
Great song glad yall liked it
One of the best things about Ghost songs is you are free to interpret them anyway you want. This is a love song from Death to me... but it is also a sad love song about missing someone. Keep Rock Alive!! 🤘🏽🖤🔥🙌🏼 ℁
I love you guys, thank you for reacting to so many of these songs, I love Ghost and I love hearing peoples opinions on them. Good and bad, they aren't for everyone. I was wondering if you would listen to Witch image , Crucified, Ghuleh / Zombie Queen, and Mummy Dust by them when you guys get a chance. Thanks, lots of love.
I love this song so much
I don't like so much Ghost but this song is descent and of course, like allways I love your review and chat Vin and Sori.
Much love to you guys...
...Hail to The Village!!
I knew you 2 would like this one. Especially Sori. You guys are so romantic. 🤗✌🏻
I have to add that I think you are both awesome people. Good people. Glad to be a part of this community. 🤘🏻😎
These reactions show just how up for interpretation art is, my thoughts hearing the song was that it was the beginning of a relationship rather than the end. "Will you let me touch your soul forever", sounds to me, almost like a wedding vow. "I feel your hands are cold" representing the almost shivering nervousness of knowingly beginning a meaningful relationship. "Can you hear me say your name forever" sounds like romanticisising the idea of their names being called by their lover.
I think Sori was on the verge of tears for a moment there
Who knew Ghost could make me have such real emotion over a song. I don't want to think of not being with my wife :-(
Sometimes your wife will go ahead and make that happen for you.
Ghost are notoriously good for being able to channel emotion through their songs.
@@AngryShooter I understand that, but this one was a lot more than usual. Love it.
Used to think the same, wait 'til you get a divorce...
@@MarkFreak12 I won't "get a divorce". Sounds like something you get in a box of cereal.
