I am disappointed in the police. It is the police that have training that left children and teachers to die. Give me a good reason that they did NOT attempt to save those children and teachers. I am feeling angry, sad, and betrayed by our law enforcement. They had guns, shields, gas, and more. They did not enter that room for over 70 minutes. They left little girls and boys to die. Is there any reason that is ok?

Every single one of those cops should be held accountable put on trial and in jail. As they are all equally as responsible. Instead of doing their jobs they stand there doing absolutely nothing as these beautiful innocent children and their teachers were killed. These cowards did nothing. Claiming they couldn’t bc “the shooter had an AR” They had one job and they failed those innocent children and those teachers

I’m watching it right now and can’t stop crying. I’m SO sorry I also lost a child but not as senselessly as these these families did. Regardless, the US needs to learn from other modern countries that have figured out how to reduce gun deaths. We are in last place WORLDWIDE when it comes to saving lives through better firearm regulation.

It's insanity. The GOP ❤️ NRA 💰, children and civilians are sitting ducks🥀We need to ban assault rifles, buy them back, send them to Ukraine. America has become it's own worst enemy.💔 Sorry about the loss of your child, I believe in an after life, and believe you'll be reunited, and that their energy surrounds you.

We've always had lots of guns in the USA. We've had lots of semi-automatic guns for over a century. Something changed, and it isn't the guns. What changed is that we no longer keep those who are so mentally unbalanced as to be a danger in psychiatric hospitals for the safety of school kids and society in general. The warning signs were there with not only Parkland, Highland Park, Uvalde but Sutherland Springs, the Omaha Mall, the Florida video game contest and so many others besides.
And you brought up other modern nations. The reaction of Australia to Port Arthur is an example often brought up, but the Port Arthur perpetrator had a history of unbalanced, reckless, sadistic, violent, dangerous behaviors going back to childhood. And so did the Parkland shooter. The warning signs were ALL there yet the officials in Parkland and Broward County did nothing about it. They attempted to sweep it under the rug, and 17 kids lost their lives over it.
Similarly, in Uvalde they ignored the signs AND when the shooting started the police stood around doing nothing for an extended period AND stopped those who wanted to put a stop to it. In the end, an off duty officer did put a stop to it with a shot gun he borrowed from his barber. He showed up in town not knowing what was going on but when he did he stopped it.

@@Anon54387What changed is that we glorify these killers by constantly talking about these shooters. They become nationally notorious immediately. These are people who see an easy way to become famous, and we give it to them. We don't see this in countries with similar gun laws like Canada, and they don't jail people for having mental problems who haven't committed any crime. Pre-crime is a stupid idea and will be used to hurt people who haven't done anything and made the mistake of speaking their mind.

But I'm also tired of the excuses, and the lack of support within our communities. We have had plenty of warning signs of a potential active shooter, and we continue to ignore them. The news media has provided us with countless information on all the school shooting in history and children have practiced numerous active shooter scenarios and drills. Yet we still ignored the call, Instead youtube viewers/citizens offer angry/sad face emojis and hallmark words like... "we will never forget" my heart "bleeds for you" "Uvalde Strong" "we remember" and my favorite... " We support you" All words that have no meaning. Especially to 19 children.

They were to busy being cowards to actually act. Sadly they did not. On top of this no answers for the parents. However after the 77min when the gunman was finally killed they all padded themselves for a job well done. Good job guys.
