Hi great video! I had a question, is there a way to give an object different materials on different faces? Or do I need to make the object into seperate faces before importing it into Twinmotion?
I always have to assign different materials on the objects BEFORE they are imported into twinmotion. You CAN edit the material scale, rotation, offset, etc. As far as I know there is no way to directly edit UVs inside of Twinmotion. If there is I would love to know how.
Hi there! Thank you for watching :) In the modelling software you are using, you have to separate the faces to apply different materials to different faces. In Twinmotion it currently only works by object. I've had this a few times where I will have to jump back into blender, separate faces, apply different materials to those faces then reimport my fbx model into Twinmotion. I hope this helps!!
There isn't an ability to do so at the moment. Within Unreal Engine they have modelling tools where you can select faces and apply materials to those faces so maybe this is something that they could eventually incorporate into Twinmotion? Maybe, depends on what mood you're going for.. could be early morning overcast. This tutorial was also a general path tracing tutorial not getting too involved in the lighting or HDRI settings 😁thank you for your comment!
