Stone Sledge Is OWNING | Layer Cake Challenge | 7 Days To Die Version 1.0 Gameplay

- Welcome to my let's play series for 7 Days To Die Version 1.0 - The Layer Cake Challenge, in this series we will be showing gameplay of the new update. In this episode we we get a lot of questing done despite Rekt sending me really far out of town on seemingly every quest - the Stone Sledgehammer is feeling great!
Layer Cake Challenge Rules:
You must go through each biome in order and take on the horde in each biome as follows:
Days 1-7: Forest Biome
Days 8-14: Burnt Forest
Days 14-21: Desert Biome
Days 22-28: Snow Biome
Days 29-35 Wasteland Biome
Grace period until 17:00 the day after the horde to go between 2 biomes if you need to make multiple trips to move bases.
The challenge is Permadeath
Play on whatever settings you're comfortable with, the only real big one is the horde needs to be every 7 days.
You can't go between biomes at all, if you get given a quest in a different biome - tough, you can't do it. The only time you can travel back and forth is until 17:00 on the day after the horde to move between bases.
Some modlets are fine, as long as they don't massively impact game balance.
Settings -
* Warrior Difficulty
* Zombies Run during the day & sprint at night
* Loot respawn off
* 64 Max Alive Horde Nights

Great episode. They should make a moving van that you can rent from one trader and return to another trader with large storage. Moving every 7 Days is going to make it hard. Lots of decisions as you move along in the series. Looking forward to seeing how it goes. Thank You.

Seeing you use the sledge is refreshing, it's been a lot of baton lately. Iron sledge is dookie.
I always enjoy a sledge run!
I'm currently doing a no trader play and I'm doing knuckles for the first time. I always feel like I'm rushing when quests are involved and with the traders even though the quest rewards aren't that great you can always buy anything you need. Without traders I'm looting every building in town then moving on to the next one. I'm on day 13 and I'm barely in to iron tools and tier 2 armors which is a nice change of pace to how it normally goes.
Yeah no trader runs are great fun, I did a snow biome only brawler build no Trader run in A21 and had a blast.
I am at a point that I can actually choose... starting day two in the morning, and currently using the wood club. Hmmm... maybe I'll craft a sledge just to try it out.
Let me know if you give it a go! The more you perk in the easier it gets with stamina control etc

huh, never tried the sledge always felt it was too slow but you certainly make it look effective. Working on our first v1 I went stun batons...cheers comments for algorithm
Just gotta get the timing right... Don't just keep on slamming it.. make every slam count.. I love the sledgehammer.. pair it with a shotgun and you'll be clearing the higher tier pois very easily... What I love about the sledge is that you can punt the enemies to the other side of the room...
Thank you! To be honest every single melee option in the game is very effective when you're perked into it. Sledge is maybe a bit harder to get the hang of but once you do its great fun.
@@The-Two-Five yep really fun.. my favorite enemies to hit with a sledge are the vultures.. they fly really far away...
If you had waited till midnight to grab the quest loot it would have counted for quest progression.

Easy lol. Any major gameplay differences between the pc and console you have noticed?
It's the same game basically. Just some stutters on console that they'll hopefully iron out, plus no random gen and no mods, but from a base game vanilla experience its the exact same, so that's pretty cool.
since i made it to tier 6 jobs every traders jobs are like 2 or 3 km away....
Always a pain when that happens!
@twofive, if i cant finish the 10 quests in my present biome in the 7 days allowed, what happens? Have i failed or can i continue in that biome? Dont forget ive only got about 1300 hrs in the game. Thx in advance
Nothing stopping you heading out towards the new biome and finding the city via exploring! You could also try the challenge on longer day settings. But ultimately its a sandbox game and you can play it however you want in a way that you enjoy :)
I need to give the sledge a go I've used it here and there but never as my main melee weapon for long usually as a starter since it's better then the stone axe for breaking into places for a bit of cheese ..i'm liking this layer cake challenge I'm about 4 hours away form the 2nd horde night then it's on to the desert I can see a large city not to far from the edge maybe i'll go there BUT Bob is kind of far away from it so my plan is to build a small platform just over the border stash my loot there since my burnt biome base isn't too far from the desert then i'll check bob out first see what he has close by hit the drop that landed there and a treasure map location then decide where to set up camp and move my loot there on my own time. should be okay moving I have a mini bike instead of a bike and I have a low level drone so just a few extra pockets this time...I'm glad you did this challenge I wouldn't have known about it other wise and I'm really liking it
Fully perked in the sledge is so much fun, just need to keep an eye on stamina and work on the timing of it (and be prepared for the iron and steel to be much slower than the stone) Ooooh heading to the Desert, nice! Let's hope for a big city with a crack-a-book for you!
