Goal of Hindus is MOKSHA meaning liberation from cycle of birth and death and/or a conscious rebirth ( one where you remember, why you came, and what your purpose is)
@@AD-cz8xe All knows that there are infinite buddhas. The buddha of present manvantara cycle is Gautam Buddha and previous one was Kasapa Buddha ( Kashyap Buddha ) Next one will be Maitreya Buddha . For eg - Read about 14 manus or 14 nabhi Raja. Gautama buddha is regarded as Lord Vishnu's manifestation because vedic texts says a god is the one who knows about birth of universe and the end of everyone. One who is out of the birth and death cycle. In buddhist Jataka texts ( jataka were the texts written when buddha was alive or mainly after the death of buddha) the words of the texts are the stories told by buddha and are totally true . In dashratha Jataka. Buddha identified himself as Rama Panditā a bodhisattva ( Panditā literally means the one who is the ocean of knowledge by this works (Karma) not by his birth ) The story of rama pandita is 99.999 per cent same as Ramayana. Bodhisattva is the one who ought to become a buddha but he was not able to become. Every buddha in his early stage is a bodhisattva. To become a buddha one has to leave Grahastya ( Materialistic world ) to enter in Tyajya ( World of Sacrifice , Tapa , Dhayana , Sadana) The one who performs these is called Sramana. Jainism and buddhism are Sramna and belief that one should leave the world of Materialistic things in his/her early age only. But in vedic beliefs one should have family, friends he/she should live in society but should remain away from materialistic things. Do sacrifice time to time ( Sacrifice never means to kill animals but to remain away from materialistic things ) Vedas says to do Darshana. Dhyana is also equally important here . In Vedas also when the person completes his/her duties it is allowed to become Sramana. All the rishis / Munis /Monks in vedism are sramana . This stage in life is called Sanyasa ( Retirement ) and People do Vanvasa ( Living in Woods ) and do dhyana . Means totally abandon Materialistic things , family too. Lord Rama did Vanvasa but it was not a total Sanyasa that's why he is bodhisattv he was not a buddha . That 's make a difference . Siddhartha Gautam was born in Shakya clan a branch Of Suryavansha clan of Lord Ram . Thre is many much similiarities that are there.

@@camiliasinensis2456 It depends on schools and sects, but generally gods are respected, like Brahma, Indra, Ganesh are popular in Thailand; Skanda in China; Sarasvati, Vaisravana/Kubera, Shiva/Mahakala in Tibet and Japan.
@Raven It became a religion with the passage of time. When the Buddha was originally something people were supposed to emulate / a position to achieve [to become enlightened] and was to be regarded as a Sacred / Venerated Leader, he became a "God" or deity with the passing of time. Brahma originally Bahma in Pali along with Deva / Devata referred to Celestial Beings, Gods or other deities such as Naga. The Buddha was aware that there were Gods or Deities but was interested in none of them because he found the Middle Way. Some of which are mentioned in Mangalasuttam [when a Devata came to him in Jetaman's Grove for Advise] and in Ratana Sutta [when he addressed them to bring peace]
In Hinduism, the goal is also to escape the cycle of life and death by attaining enlightment. We call it moksha. Its only that in some lives trying to get enlightment is harder so for those cases you should try to be born in a better life where its easier to get enlightment. Atleast that's what I understood of it.
Bhagavadgita 9.32 For taking refuge in Me, they also, who O Partha, may be of inauspicious birth as well as women, vaishyas and shudras - even they attain the Supreme Goal.
Yes spreading wrong information, that's what the Buddhist do. They think their so called religion is superior than Hinduism but actually it's inferior because of the Hindus great philosophy known as Advait Vedant.
@@shivamparashar4813 No, Buddhists only think of their religions as superior because they don't believe in gods or heaven. Technically they don't even consider Buddhism a religion. They only believe in disillusion and removal of attachments to eliminate dukha. And they see our devotion to religion as one form of attachment.
@WeAllLoveDrawing! Similar yes, but also different in a sense. In Hinduism, from true enlightment, people escape rebirth to unite with the energy of the universe to be made whole again which is not nothingness because this energy created the universe, the gods and the living beings. And after the universe ends, the reunited energy creates a new universe. While in Buddhism, from true enlightment, people escape rebirth into nirvana which is a void of nothingness. There is nothing here and there will be nothing here. No universes, no heavens and no gods.
Hinduism is a more complicated form of budhism and budhism is a simpler form of hinduism. Though there are many similarities and differences between them
I know the creator of this video is Buddhist or a duffer. did you ever heard the word " moksha " , before making this video ? enlightenment doesn't mean end of birth and death cycle .
Exactly - this idea that out there after death there is a magic land of plenty waiting for us is so crazy But the problem with life is that it is harsh, it is difficult, we have to work and make a living Whereas religions like christianity and islam can promise the easy life of plenty - Sugar Daddy Gods who have nothing better to do than cater to lazy moochers for eternity Sadly we fail to see that Life is a Gift from God A Gift that Reincarnation gives us over and over!
Wrong brother. Once Indian emperor Ashoka just end the vedic dharma by supporting Buddhism and India was just getting empty of Hindus than the great adi shankracharya travelled whole India on his foots debating with budhas and jains which were trying very hard to delete the Hinduism from India but shankracharya won every debate with buddist and saved Hinduism.
S once upon a time these 2 religions were taught tolerance ahimsa but between only they behave like bad peoples They killed Hindu saints try to destroy hinduism but their plan get failed
No matter if you are hindu or muslim or belong to any other religion but you are definitely not buddhist as long as you are not free from cycle of birth & death. A buddhist means someone on the path of enlightenment.
there is no prob if anyone jumps into any dharma faiths . buddhism is child of hinduism you can say like it both path were diffrent but they reach the same nirvana and moksha is just two part of a same coin in hinduism alone there are several path that western people dont know the most recent is yogic path you can't seprate it with dharma. and we dont need you to discribe what we are we know what is dharma its runs in our blood any western indologist absurd theories will reach to garb only...
Hit The Assassin ....you Buddhist always says ...Buddhism is different from hinduism but still you people use to pray god by joining hands,do meditation as like hindus that used to do hindu before Buddhism come into existence....change everythings similar to hinduism and then I believe that buddhism is totally different from hinduism. Were there no any spiritual people from your community like buddha to make your God... he was kshetriya
purna sharma,,, he was kshetriya so what ,,,, you called every one kshetriya those are from king background,,, so why dont you called muslim king akbar as kshatriya,,, actually it is shame for you buddha n hindus poeple convert into buddhism ,,,,bcoz he doesnt like your stupid culture hindusm,,, n fool proundly say he was hindu,,,
Ankam Divyendra No, it's Hinduism which is a little branch of Mahayana Buddhism, you Hindus adopted mass teachings from Buddhism, now you call them as your own just because you changed their names.
It's quite different. The Buddha learned meditation from the two gurus, but it is not their teachings that led him to enlightenment because their teachings weren't complete. That's why he left the last guru and tried on his own.
Wrong information. First Hindu religion is oldest. Buddha was Hindu Prince Siddharth Gautam. Hindu Astrologer told his father that he will become either great king of earth or great spiritual leader. We know what happened finally. Hindu's aim is to liberate from cycle of birth and death but most important aim is to know one's self. Karma concept is also same no difference. Hindu people do not condemn other religions. Also Hindu religion supports all concepts like one god, multiple gods, rituals, non-rituals, way of bhakti, way of karma or way of knowledge. It also supports tantra. So that one can chose the path he likes. In a sense Hindu religion is most open to ideas and colorful with concepts, than any other religion which only believes in one concept or either but not all. Hindu believes that it is better to pursue a path and realize God/Self than fighting over characteristics of God. That's why it is more action oriented and peaceful rather than fighting 'i'm the greatest religion' game.
@@FatJackedNerd I am sure Hinduism hasn't taught that just as jesus Christ didn't teach his followers to convert other people using those people's ignorance, desperation for money/food etc to their advantage like some of those missionaries do in India. And to be honest, follwers of the faith that made great cultures with rich mythology and historical values like Norse, Greek, Roman etc. go extinct should not even dare accuse Hinduism of anything about destroying other religions. Same applies to islam.
Hinduism as we know it is actually Animism. The Vedas are part of Indo-European Culture that spread out of what we know as Modern Day Europe. It stretched from Iceland to India. Similar Stories and practices were found to be present in that entire land mass and it was something they all had in common\

Gautam Buddha or Siddhartha was a Hindu Prince in India. He is considered second last Avatar of Lord Vishnu. Therefore before the arrival of Buddha, 8 avatars of Buddha including Krishna & Rama had appeared before mankind. So rather Buddhism is a subset of Hinduism.
Hinduism has gods. Buddhism doesn't have gods. Hinduism has souls. Buddhism doesn't have souls in the Hindu, Islamic, or Christian sense. Hinduism has praying to deities. Buddhism doesn't have, doesn't believe in, and teaches against praying. The very cores of both religions are very different, so how can Buddhism be a branch of Hinduism? Sure they both have cycle of birth and death and how to break out of it, but the old Norse religion and Japanese Shinto both have many gods. Does that mean Shinto is a branch of Norse religion?
I am the Universe Being born into a religion doesn't make a person believe in that religion for their entire life. If you study the Buddhist teachings from their own book, not from Hindu Vedas or Brahmins, you'll find many teachings that contradict with Hindu beliefs.

All ppl arguing in the comments, they don't even know a single frikin thing about either of these religions. Just searching on google, wtf?! One person told me the goal of a hindu is to get reincarnated in a better place. Seriously?!
I realize my comment is much longer than most found on youtube. Even so, I ask that you read all of what I've written before responding. It will only take you a few minutes to read. Thank you. Please click "read more" to see my full comment. There is a LOT of argument in this comment section over whether Buddhism is a separate religion from Hinduism or part of Hinduism. I don't care either way. I've found some Buddhist teachings to be helpful, and I chant a long Hindu mantra when I feel like it, as part of my meditation practice. The mantra is a prayer of praise to Shiva, but since the mantra is in Sanskrit, and I've not memorized the English translation, I don't get hung up much on the meaning of the words. I don't claim to be either Buddhist or Hindu. I just apply what is useful for me, regardless of where it is from. I'm sure many people will not be happy with my American "spiritual but not religious" opinion. That's alright. I'm doing my best. It's all I can do. Please accept that many people, for various reasons, cannot manage to practice a religion very well, if at all, and so we apply spiritual teachings and practices from various traditions. For us, this might or might not feel unsatisfactory at times, but is better than not being spiritual at all. One last thought.. People who are religious tend to pick and choose which parts of their religious teachings to believe, and which parts of their practice to bring into their own lives. Many do this without realizing it, and are quick to judge those who are not religious. Example 1. A Protestant Christian (Southern Baptist) gave me a bad time because years earlier, I had stopped practicing Christianity. He said I really needed to go back to being a Christian to be saved, etc. A few minutes later, he was saying how awesome it was to have sex with his girlfriend, and was saying that I was crazy because I did not have a girlfriend at the time, and was not having sex. I told him how hypocritical he was. I told him Christianity teaches that single people should remain celibate until they are married. He then told me I shouldn't judge. I then pointed out that, in his criticisms of me, he'd been judgemental. He shut up after that. Example 2. I was friends with a Catholic woman for awhile. She and I were not dating. Our friendship was platonic, although I did like her for several months. She was VERY much into the religiosity of Catholicism. She attended mass at least three times a week, arrived early to light candles and say prayers, carried prayer cards with an image of a saint on one side, and a prayer to that saint on the other.. She kept trying to pressure me into becoming Catholic. I even attended mass with her twice, because I wanted to see what mass was like, and because, for the most part, I appreciated her company. But, I got tired of her telling me about Catholicism. I had a hunch she was not following Catholic rules, and so I asked her two questions: 1. Do you have sex with your boyfriend? She said yes. I told her Catholicism teaches that single people must remain celibate, and only have sex after they are married. 2. Are you pro-choice or pro-life? She said she was pro-choice. I pointed out that the Catholic Church is STRONGLY against abortion. She had no reply and stopped pressuring me to become Catholic. All religious people are at least somewhat hypocritical, even if they are trying not to be. Some really try to be faithful, and are only hypocritical because they are human. If they are not bothering other people, and are practicing their faith in a healthy, peaceful way, then I don't mind their minor hypocrisy. However, I do mind the sort of hypocrisy like that of the guy and the woman I knew.
Hinduism or Buddhism is not a religion. Hinduism and Buddhism are more open minded which is why most practitioners are morally better . Edit: The difference is ,in Christianity they provide great values as a commandment. In Hinduism and Buddhism, they provide great values as a method thats all. No commandments.
Practice whatever you like, as a hindu I listen to the Usnisa Vijaya Dharani, a Budhhist chant just because it makes me feels good, not that I agree with the Buddhist philosophy (that chant is about the Buddha lecturing a Hindu deity Indra about enlightenment, though Indra is quite hedonistic even in Hindu myths).
All the Indian religions are hard to differentiate because it varies from person to person. A person can call himself Buddhist but still pray to Gods, or a Hindu may not even believe in God, a Jain may go to temples everyday and feed cows, a sikh may do Puja in temples. There is no boundaries between them. Vedas are not even followed by 99.9% of Hindus and chances are more than 75% of Hindus don't even know name of all four Vedas. It is essentially upto an individual to choose what he/she believes and whether they choose to tag it or not. My family in Hindu officially but I don't believe in Gods and more of Nastik but believe in Karma. My grandparents follow Radha Swami Satsang. My father don't believe in Gods but he goes to Gurudwara on regular basis and donates plenty of grains there. My mother is more of ritualistic Hindu and knows more God (Clan deities, family deities, Village deities, unknown Hindu Gods, well known Hindu Gods) than any other family members. And five of us are Vegetarian. Then I've elder brother who is non-vegetarian and call himself a Hindu but don't follow any ritual except for some prayers he do on daily basis at his shop. It can be confusing for lot of people. It's lot more complicated than you may think partially because there was no concept of religion in India and putting everything within boundaries like Western religion is kind of difficult.

Is Allah real Bro there is god. I have never read any Buddhist scriptures but I have read hindu scriptures. He is 9th avatar. Yes it is totally right that he never said he is god but because his only motive was to spread peace. Yes many Hindus were against him but that time was also wrong. But at last he is an avatar as it is said in hindu scriptures that at the end of kalyug, son of danavas[europeans] will be beliwered by the Buddha

Misinterpreted concepts. 'Many Gods' in Hinduism is just scratching the surface. Also, the Hinduism and Buddhism (and Jainism and Sikhism) as we call them are British interpretations and classifications. This dividing line never existed before that.
It is not entirely correct, seen from a too Western perspective. The goal of a Hindu is to surrender and dedicate all actions to God (Brahman, infinite, immutable, love) so that God will be the do-er and there will be no reincarnation (Bhagavad Gita 4:24). Karma is God's creative force triggered by actions and reactions for the development of us (Bhagavad Gita 8:3)
First of all Hinduism and Buddhism is not the Religions It is gaining knowledge of "Everything" Buddha doesn't created Buddhism he just taken some essential things from Hinduism. Buddhism is The Part of Hinduism wheather people accept or not but Lord Buddha said it.
Who the hell are you to decide goals of any religion. Hinduism talks about the way to moksha also. If you don't know about Hinduism don't compare it with the other. By the way Hinduism is not a religion nor was buddhism. It's people who called it so to create disputes between people.
According to Krishna the goal of Hinduism is to get liberated from Samsara by achieving Brahma Nirvana. It is mentioned in Srimad Bhagavad Gita. The creator got it wrong.

Buddha is a Hindu who find enlightenment like other saint did by following the path of yoga.hole morality of Buddhism come from Hinduism(Santana dharma). Santana dharma is a broad vast concept and it is allowed to interpret the concept for good for ultimate god. Budhisim,Jainism,sikh...... all are Santana dharma
mayur atey may b u haven't read comment properly.there is no specific way in sanatana dharma. It is a very very wide and oldest culture.also any one is allowed to interpret it according to there purpose for godness. Buddha followed the way of sanatana/hindu dharma , sanyasa(leaving all affection) and Yoga(meditation) to get enlightenment.
+Milan Dey before enlightenment buddha practice meditation as per sanatan darma but buddha doesn't get enlightenment. he used to meditation with 5 sanatani saddus (later became buddha disciples ) even though he doesn't get enlightenment ..when buddha told them we should follow middle path they refuse buddha principle but later after buddha got enlightenment .this 5 sanatani saddhus became buddha disciples this proves buddha used to practice sanatan meditation but he doesn't get enlightenment through sanatan practice...!
mayur atey wat u mean by "5 sanatani sadhu.and buddha BEFORE enlightenment practising". "Buddha is/was a sanatani " even after enlightenment he used to meditate .Like now Buddhist monk are meditating. and about "middle path" all these are in sanatana dharma."The Noble Eightfold Path" is what all saint in sanatana dharma following even before Buddha. Mayur don't be narrow in .Open u r mind.
+Milan Dey bro I am very open minded and always follow the truth.... the truth is always bitter !! buddisim was formed because there was drawbacks in Hinduism.... so they formed new principles.... buddisim is so pure religion...... that doesn't mean I hate hindusim ... but hindusim/sanatani is different from buddisim and buddisim never believe on gods but sanatani do......
As a Buddhist, something that ive always wondered about was Hinduism's focus on the caste system. As something of an outsider, it seems to be something that has been used to oppress/justify the oppression of lower caste members. Sort of a similar way the "Protestant work ethic", or the Catholic's guilt/shame focus does. Anyone mind giving me their explanation? Im curious, and dont want to write it off, or have an unfavorable view if Im understanding it incorrectly.
Yes sadly Caste system was a bad thing but it wasn't something which was originally present in Hindu texts. Caste system is no mentioned by Lord Krishna in Bhagavadgita. It's just in the later phases some people took disadvantage of People's lack of knowledge and created the Caste system. It is first mentioned in Manusmriti which is not even a Hindu Holy Book or atleast not something which Hindus place above Vedas or Bhagavadgita. I think Caste system was one of the reason why Lord Buddha decided to create Buddhism and indirectly end the injustice. Although some say that Caste system became less prevalent in the later phases as the Bhakti Movement started in South India and especially the Vijayanagara and Maratha Empires were known for equality to all.
So like every oriental religion there is a philosophical aspect and there are some outside day to day ways of lives aspects. What we see normally is the ritualistic part and common people practicing them. 90% of them have no idea about the philosophical aspect of Hinduism. The philosophy is vast, deep and diverse depending upon different schools of thought. Now as Hinduism is a very very old religion, in early years of vedic age the society was divided into four classes who was based on the work an individual performs. And it was not hereditary and interchangeable depending on the work one can perform. Over the centuries this practice became more rigid, hereditary and non flexible giving today's class system.
in buddhism, anyone can achieve nirvana, while in hinduism, the main goal is to achieve maksha (which is a similar concept as nirvana) but you have to be reincarnated into the top caste before attaining maksha. I'm not Hindu nor am I a Buddhist, so if anyone knows better feel free to tell me....I'd like to know! :)

that`s probably why many religious people don`t like the idea of atheism too. But to be honest, I don`t even wish there was a god. Because no matter which god you believe in, In my opinion, a perfect god could not let all the people in the world suffer in some way or another. Why give humans free will if there would be more suffering than happiness in the world. And why would a person like me, who doesn't believe in any god, live a life with so little worry, so much happiness and so many opportunities? That wouldn`t be fair to any religous people dying in combat, experiencing torture, living with mental or physical illnesses and so on. Even with karma, no-one does deserve such punishment.

The creator of this video has a wrong idea of Hinduism. The only difference between Hinduism and Buddhism is that Hinduism has ONE God which we call Brahman but Buddhism has no God. The rest of the words in Buddhism like Dharma, Karma and reincarnation are from Hinduism. Buddhism made the meaning different so that they remain different from Hinduism. Cosmic law is Dharma. No one can change it.
Everything you told as Buddhism's is already in Hinduism. The VED VEDANG SHIKSHA by baba Ramdev & his team will better help people understand Hinduism. Hinduism & Buddhism are not religions. They are not mutually exclusive
Hinduism :- Moksh Buddhism :- Nirvana Hinduism :- A Great Religion Buddhism :- Nothing just a simple concept which is easy to fit in every religion. Hinduism:- Created with sanatan ideology Buddhism :- Energy neither can be created nor can be destroyed. So it was always there. Lord Buddha just reintroduced it.
Most wanted 2 I am not just emphasising on Buddhism particularly. It's a straight way comparison. Both Hinduism & Buddhism do have a lot more facts and all which I know. But right here I just mentioned some of the key points only. I am not elaborating the history behind this particular religion.
samyajyoti de The reason why you Hindu jokers use this word ''Hinduism'' is because you know this philosophy is not based on one person just like Buddhism is based on Buddha only (one person). I challenge you to choose one person from Hinduism and make him stand against Buddha. We will see how great your religion is.
When Buddha was in the heaven teaching to all gods n goddess, some god came to request him to land on earth to clear the sufferings same as lord Vishnu did.
1. I think this is a very stereoty[ical way of showing Hindus when they were facing famine created by the British. It's as if I show the face of a Christian as seen during the plague outbreak in Europe. 2. Both are branches of Great Bhartiya (Indian) culture. 3. Budh had followed the Sanyasi way himself, but the Chinese made it a complete religion very later. That's different than many fake violent Buddhists wants to use it as a political anti-community agenda
People have a false conception that Buddha was hindu. There was no hinduism at that that time. There were vedic religions and other spurtuality. Bhagwad gita wasnt even written when buddha was alive.

I'm an Indian Buddhist.. Buddhism and Hinduism are totally different religion. Hinduism's philosophy is Riddle's but Buddhism's philosophy is humanitarian. Hinduism is creater of Caste system but Buddhism apposed it. Hinduism is very very bad or painful for sudras, Dalits or untouchables, and Buddhism is kind for Untouchable. Buddhism did not believe in God, Soul, Incarnation, Heaven or hell, Vedas, Geeta, and any wrong doing work of Hinduism. Hinduism did not believe in humanity, equality, science, freedom, peace etc. But Buddhism believe its all.

You are saying this because you don't understand Hinduism. There are many sects in it with a same goal of "Moksha". Buddha rejected the vedic scriptures but Buddhist's philosophy is similar to "Upnishads" and many "Upnishads" are from pre-Buddhists period.
If the Buddha had been born in Christian or muslim lands what would have been his fate? Even now in muslim lands? In some countries they arrest you just for carrying your own holy book. Non-muslims are harassed and killed for "insulting islam" - can you imagine what they would have done to the Buddha? Giardano Bruno was a Buddha in the christian lands - he was burned at the stake! Galileo would have gone the same way - he simply agreed to take back all his work! So many Buddhas were lost this way But that did not happen to the Buddha in Hindu India - please show some respect
Buddhist were persecuted by Hindus in pre-modern India. Buddhism which was a dominant religion of India at one time became a tiny minority in its birthplace. Even today, various Hindutva organizations are forcefully converting people to Hinduism or using anti-conversion law to stop preaching of other religions.

Sikhism, jainism, tribal religions! Once buddhism was dominant Now isnt it an atheist-majority country? Christians are more in number? Where is your hate towards them?
Buddhism is just a copy of vedanta... Aslo they copied all meditation ..and many more.. They always say about caste system but caste is given by karma not by birth.. Sry for my bad english
Buddha was a samana, not Hindu, this word was coined by the Persians to insult the followers of Vedic people. Buddha found the enlightenment through his own insight, his enlightenment influenced Vedic religion. Bhagvad Gita and Patanjali Yoga Sutras are one branch of Theravada Buddhism, and Advaita Vedanta is one branch of Mahayana Buddhism.
Truth Seeker "Hindus didn't kill the Buddha, but countless attempts were made to kill him, and they surely opposed his teachings, people who actually gave a practical trial to his teachings found that whatever he is teaching makes sense which cannot be related to the Hindu mythology." What the hell are you talking about ? The First few Emperors who accepted Buddhism were indeed Hindus !!! Hindus view Buddha as the 9th Avatar of Vishnu, A Very Significant God. I think you have no clue at this point and your post is simple tryig to divide Hindus and Buddhist for the sake of it !!!
Just another Atheist This 9th avatar theory was made 1500 years ago in Puranas, and you forgot one more thing to say, those Brahmans who declared Buddha as an avatar of Vishnu also said ''Never accept his teachings'' but consider him as an avatar of Vishnu. lol
jyothirmyee sravya There are actually 3 kinds of Buddhists exists, agnostic, theist and atheist, originally Buddha was an atheist, but all these agnostic and theist buddhists were untouched with the Buddha's concept of ''no god' which can be found in Tipitaka.'
Dear Fantasy , buddism is a fraction of hinduism.. To complete learn sanatan dharma u may have to take birth a thousand time... Even lord buddha struggled to learn an aspect of it and became buddha...
Mr. p's curious mind To say Buddhism is a fraction of Hinduism is to assume that they have the same core teachings. Catholicism, Protestantism, Orthodox, all the believe in the same god and have the same concepts of soul and salvation. The core teachings of Buddhism and Hinduism are very different. Even the goals of both religions are different. Nirvana and moksha seem familiar and almost identical, but the concepts are very different. You can study them in detail if you haven't and if you're interested.
Kawhi Mvp Buddhism and Hinduism clearly have different views on the ultimate truth so I wouldn't say it's a part of Hinduism. A more accurate explanation would be that the Buddha disagreed with Hinduism on some aspects and provided his own explanations for them. Buddhism ditches all the rituals and gods in Hinduism and focuses on meditation and morality. Like America separated themselves from England and it still retains many similarities to England, but it's no longer part of England and has its own takes on government and politics.
Could I get some clarification on the hindu saying you don't need to preach because you either are a hindu or you aren't? Is it a reincarnation thing? Like it's worth living a life without being hindu and being hindu? Or is it something else?

Jainism and buddhism are Sramna and belief that one should leave the world of Materialistic things in his/her early age only.
But in vedic beliefs one should have family, friends he/she should live in society but should remain away from materialistic things. Do sacrifice time to time ( Sacrifice never means to kill animals but to remain away from materialistic things ) Vedas says to do Darshana. Dhyana is also equally important here .

Bhagavadgita 9.32
For taking refuge in Me, they also, who O Partha, may be of inauspicious birth as well as women, vaishyas and shudras - even they attain the Supreme Goal.

I had a hunch she was not following Catholic rules, and so I asked her two questions:

It's lot more complicated than you may think partially because there was no concept of religion in India and putting everything within boundaries like Western religion is kind of difficult.

that principle and teaching was found all over the Indo-European Continent. From Iceland to India.
Don't say even Hinduism or part of Hinduism since Hinduism and Buddhism are the branches of the Sanatana Dharma.
Who the hell are you to decide goals of any religion. Hinduism talks about the way to moksha also. If you don't know about Hinduism don't compare it with the other. By the way Hinduism is not a religion nor was buddhism. It's people who called it so to create disputes between people.

Buddha followed the way of sanatana/hindu dharma , sanyasa(leaving all affection) and Yoga(meditation) to get enlightenment.

Hahahahahahahahahaha u don't know anything about hinduism

Buddhism always seemed so unappealing to me, I want to believe in a God and in a soul, Buddhism seems not nihilistic but just cold and true, I dont want to face the truth right now lol
that`s probably why many religious people don`t like the idea of atheism too.
The inevitable are always close, no matter how far away they seem.
Be brave my friend, you’ll be strong enough someday to face the cold hard truth ❤️

Truth Seeker "Hindus didn't kill the Buddha, but countless attempts were made to kill him, and they surely opposed his teachings, people who actually gave a practical trial to his teachings found that whatever he is teaching makes sense which cannot be related to the Hindu mythology."
What the hell are you talking about ? The First few Emperors who accepted Buddhism were indeed Hindus !!! Hindus view Buddha as the 9th Avatar of Vishnu, A Very Significant God. I think you have no clue at this point and your post is simple tryig to divide Hindus and Buddhist for the sake of it !!!

This 9th avatar theory was made 1500 years ago in Puranas, and you forgot one more thing to say, those Brahmans who declared Buddha as an avatar of Vishnu also said ''Never accept his teachings'' but consider him as an avatar of Vishnu. lol

Even the goals of both religions are different. Nirvana and moksha seem familiar and almost identical, but the concepts are very different. You can study them in detail if you haven't and if you're interested.
NoWhereEveryWhere but hinduism has 6 philosophies if which charvaka is one, buddhism is 99% same to charvaka. Buddhism is part of hinduism.
Kawhi Mvp One believes in gods but the other doesn't. That's a big difference.
