theirs a lot to focus on in this video from the Superb Nathan p5 horn to the lime green double stack never seen before and the contrast of the train company paint scheme against the double stacks. Lover your vids so here's a thumbs up!
nice video of a rare find railroad do they interchange with the Beauport and Morefield in Beauport(B&M)is more obscure then the A&R...and how many locos are on the A&R as last note in trains was 3 or 4 but that article was years ago
American Fuel Harvester? What's in the containers? And where is this train going? That's not exactly heavily used mainline track; this is some rejuvenated branch line? And a GP20 or 9 or whatever. Interesting combo.
Boxes almost never have graf on them because their dwell time in classification yards is effectively zero. In fact, I cant remember the last time I've seen a teu with any writing on it.
First they take away my Cabooses now Conductors ride in a truck......What's next Engineer will control train from Remote Desktop? I shudder to think......Oh I know it will be Robots n Sky net taking our Trains over..... Thanks for sharing nice Video....Out in West I'm still trying to get used to Precision Railroading. .....Lol......
With PTC, and the integrated "Energy Management" on EMD and older GE locomotives, and GE's "Trip Optimizer" system on all ES and up models, which are integrated to work with PTC, sadly about 75% of trains i run are basically on cruise control. Its horrible. GE boasts in a video on their channel how "every engineer runs different, well trip optimizer will run every train the same". The idiots at GE dont understand that every train runs differently. But, trip optimizer does just that. It pulls down hill, and brakes uphill, in an effort to coast over every top at crawling speeds... I have yet to understand how coming out of a bottom at track speed, and going into braking uphill, killing all my momentum, most times so much that it has to pull like a mfer to get over a top, saves fuel... I dont get it. If i come out of a bottom at full speed, just continue to not give throttle input until needed. There are Locations on the NC line out near Durham and Cary, that every train ive ran regardless of length, or tonnage, T/O does the exact same thing at every location. It doesnt pay attention and does not feel in the seat of the pants the track/train dynamics, it just goes off of a pre programmed algorithm. Its making engineers lots and lots of overtime though, because it runs very slow. It adds about 2 hours to my run time between greensboro and selma. Its only about 2.5 hrs manually. Between getting the train out of greensboro, waiting for all the amtraks along the way, working durham, and watching T/O run like an idiot, every trip is 12 hours both ways Back to the subject.. 1 job, an engineer and a conductor, a shortline, i dont think its so bad because there are still 2 men on the crew, and they are relatively close to each other all day. But a long barrel through freight on a class 1 would eliminate scores of conductor jobs because NS is already talking about having roaving COs where 1 conductor would be responsible for assisting any train within his assignments limits, basically a Utility Conductor. It would be crappy riding by myself from Charlotte to Roanoke, or Greensboro to Selma. But.. All of the systems and technology in the first rant are what is driving the push for one man crews on class 1 railroads
@@alexmodern6667 watch the video of RIO TINTO in Australia, they have unmanned trains, using a GE feature called "Autohaul" and is currently being tested at the AAR facility out west in the US. Its a sad time for all of us class 1 railroaders
