So we can see subaru's moral standing here, she chose duty over empathy. She must have a strong sense of responsibility and duty in order to carry out these options.
It's really interesting isn't? Who would have thought our baby duck that most of time being bullied turns out to be a really responsible person. I wonder if her house being burned down is part of the reason of her strong senses of responsibility
@@f4ww4z I always hear this about her parents house burning down and that's how she became a vtuber to help her family, do you know the source for that?
yes, her decision to not fight magus in CT is also great, she was almost blinded by rage but quickly came to the conclusion that more important issues where at hand (saving chrono) other fun case is the decisions she took when the rebels make peace with the empire in FF6.
I might translate that since there's no english translated video about it... or there are? Please tell me if someone already translate that clip, because I want to try to translate it...
her decision takes too long for me and it end up with probing memory instead of negotiating information wondering why she really avoid "making someone upset" in her choices perhaps she doesnt have those emotional to think of it
Tbh Subarus playthrough of this game is the best since she actually asks lots of questions, tries to understand the characters and looks genuinely interested in this game. Compared to the other hololive members who look bored and don't even try to understand characters.
I find Subaru's motivation in this clip to be solid, I can respect that, but now I can see the difference between Japanese mindset (albeit it's only one person) and our(Russian). Being committed to a task (playing by the rules of a system) is admirable thing, but it reminds me a stereotypical Japanese person, that chooses what others will choose, and it looks so alien to me. This is part of Japanese mentality explains why (most of them) follow rules so diligently- Duty first. That's why their country is so advanced in technology, and in economics- because people act and work as part of a team (country), and why they had such violent past, because no one resisted it, because everyone acted "in atmosphere" (Germany had the same thing, by the way, Germans are known as diligent and hard workers too...). It goes with contrast with me, being opposed to this commitment- Duty sure is important, but you must think of your own well-being first- because higher-ups sure saw to it (explains things in Russia too, sadly, everyone tries to grab what they can). I seem to have gained some insight about Japanese mindset today, thank you, and I think I have some things to learn here. Anyway, thanks for the video, you did amazing job here.
welll, societal order does help the economy grow a lot, as China has in recent years. but. just following the rules without also encouraging creativity gets you only so far in the economy. they have not been that innovative in changing their society to try to support creativity, either. with technology, or otherwise. still uses 80´s tech, like faxes. everything on paper. rigid unwritten societal rules. lots of redundancy, not efficient. creativity and therefore startups not encouraged, nor economically favored. The modern economy is much based on creative problem solving and paying top dollars for it. women practically forced to stay at home after education when given birth, wasting 50% of society's mindpower. etc. A major reason why their economy and innovation stagnated. only slow and big companies with a slow and arduous process of innovation. china stole most of their innovation tech from westerners by spying. compare to a place like Sweden: liberal, creative mindset encouraged with a tolerant philosophy of different viewpoints and questioning allowed and encouraged. startups protected with a safety net in the event of failure, you can return to your old company by law, if things don't work out, and you get compensated through money, in the event of unemployment, so failure is not a big catastrophic thing, the #1 reason why people won't do startups. even with their social democracy, that taxes people high-quality public services paid from taxation like schooling and healthcare, still have a higher per capita per billionaires than the USA. same in Iceland. both have higher social mobility than even the USA. Russia.. is really too chaotic because of deep-seated corruption to really nurture much of anything. with oligarchy, isn't going to change anytime soon. an old conservative boomer kgb gangster in power for life, that is only interested in staying in power, destroying everything that thinks different.
It's amazing how you can see her japanese values here concerning the choice to probe his memory, saying it's not Connor's job to symphatize with him, but to do his task to interrogate him. I'm not saying it's bad or good, it's just interesting.
I don't think "I was just following orders" is a specifically Japanese thing. It's a zombie thing that exists in all countries. Although, it might be because she's Japanese that she only did it here but showed above average empathy everywhere else prior.
You know I was hoping to sleep soon, but here you are. Man this games so interesting. Lots of choices and routes to make, makes you wanna watch the game from different perspectives to satisfy your curiosity of the dialogue. I wonder what happens next.
Watched this whole 9 episode (so far!) series in one go after discovering it last night, thanks for your amazing effort translating all this! Subaru is just great.
Thank you man xD i really enjoy watching gameplays of Detroit, each person has his owns morals and that change compleatly the flow of the game and the endings are completly differents :D Also, i thought that you were on break xD don't push yourself and try to rest man
Honestly this is one of those cases where the game messed up. Some people love to play a character that goes by the rules, sticking to rules and reasons over emotion. The game desperately needed a Connor path where he could actually solve the deviancy incident without becoming a deviant himself. There was already enough rebel options with Markus and even Connor's deviancy path.
But that's already a path. He only really becomes a deviant if he decides not to fire at Markus, betraying his superiors and his orders. If you don't do that, then he isn't a deviant, and there is an ending down that path where his actions DO solve the deviancy incident. This can also occur if Connor dies after becoming a deviant at the hands of the other deviants, since Cyberlife will send out a new model again.
she really good and know how to play this game while giving the entertaining thoughts. she read the books, exploring to catch missable stuff, none like most of others vtuber. i hope she plays life is strange 2 as well it will be awesome. and thanks for the translation, great work as usual
I wish after she did the interrogation scene she had gone back to the main menu. Forgot the android's name but the chick on the main menu will have comments and sometimes ask you questions on your choices. And if you do something major in your playthrough she'll also have a "omg i cant believe you did that" moment
Watching the whole stream, it is clear that Duck tend to picked a choices that's more logical than emotional, especially for Connor and Markus. Which always resulted in not so great relationship between Connor and Hank :/
But that's fine, isn't it? It creates an interesting and unique play-through for her and gives her a goal to go back to if she ever wants to try the game again; it'd be boring if every youtuber played the game the exact same way even if we like seeing certain pairings or story relationships.
@@FatedMusic yeah, that's what I found the most interesting in her playthrough. I almost never saw the outcomes she did in any playthrough anyway, so it's also new for me lol
It seems like she decided to make choices that fit the characters rather than choosing actions that she wanted as a player. Like in this video, she kinda insinuates that empathy is something more restricted to Kara. It’s an interesting way of playing 🤔
I think her choices in this part are valid. She was thinking first of duty, and she was thinking of the best way to make the murderer talk. From a standpoint this might be cruel, but again, she prioritized responsibility over empathy. Besides, she's going in blind into the game, and those who have played might know of the consequences of our choices here. She doesn't. Like... take this chance to learn on people's way of thinking instead of immediately disagreeing with them? I guess? Sorry if I've said something wrong.
I was pretty surprised to see the game tell you to "raise his stress level" despite warning you that high stress would lead to self-destruction. It's probably one of those cases where going against the system would have lead to something different
I noticed that the stress bar have some kind of...suitable stress window? Maybe having stress level in that window will make him talk but exceed that window will make him self-destruct.
You have to stress him out within the window, exceed it and the Android will self destruct, and obviously undershooting it will not be enough to get information out of it.
