I absolutely feel you, man. 7 years ago, I dropped out of college for the same reasons. I'd skip classes, leave assignments and studying at the last minute and sit and game. I dunno why. It made me feel not sad I guess. But later on in life, I realised how much of a better position I would've been with a college degree. Right now, I'm slowly climbing a corporate ladder but I still can't marry or raise a kid with my income. I wish you all the best.
If it makes you feel better, I’m a college graduate, and 6 years after I graduated, I’m still struggling with my life, only surviving from a low-paying part-time job, and basically had to fail a lot of my passions. I only have less than 2 months worth of saving in my account. ❤
Coming from my experience last year, due to the lockdown I found myself in similar position to yours as well. Every day I almost wanted to prod myself to work, to not disappoint my teachers and parents who've done so much for me. Even now I fear falling into that state again, but my advice would be to take things slow. Change comes often in short steps. Take every step of sucess and use that to push yourself further. My last advice would be to ask help from the people closest to you. There are a lot of things you can't see and another pair of eyes may help. Now I know my advice isn't universally applicable; we are all different people and lead different lives, so the last thing I want to say is thank you for your great work. It may seem like your stuck, but the fact that you've recognized your faults and want to fix them is progress right? I hope everything goes well for you and again, thank you for sharing.

We are all grateful for all your hard work translating our Shuba-girl. Every time you post a video of this serie, I know that whatever happened during my day, in the end it would be a good day. Keep up the excellent work! Your videos make hundreds of us happy, that's no small feat :)
For your description: I usually try to check your videos as soon as you upload them, since subaru is somewhat a JP oshi. I didn't check these ones asap because I was on a "break" from RUclips. Last week, my watch time was 42 hrs. I told that to a friend and she was aghast. I also pledged to show her that I could reduce it to *zero* for the next week. I failed it in the worst possible way. I switched to an alt account and continued the long ass watch time with that one, so that my hours weren't logged onto my main and I could *show her the proof of my willpower*. What a joke. I don't want to achieve anything by admitting this, except maybe tell you that we kinda share this burden, and you don't have to hate yourself for it. On a more positive and perhaps helpful note- I am doing relatively well in Engineering school only because I *realize* certain things: the fact that I'm the one who needs to support both myself and my parents after graduation, that I have to become an upstanding, useful person, that I'm already 21 and its time to get serious.... I want to give my best everyday too. I have been failing at it for the past year, but I still have to do it, and I know that, maybe we won't be able to change overnight, but change is hard, not impossible. A mental trick I've learned that works in these cases is this- when you're faced with a huge task like this, don't start hating yourself for failing even before you begin the task; instead, think of yourself as someone who is above the average person who would bend their knee to it, think of yourself as a better person, and try to uphold yourself to that standard. Most importantly, don't stop believing in yourself. You can do it. I can do it too. Best wishes. Edit: Also, the desire to change is the first step, but consistent effort to change is the second, but *more important* step.
