There will be very few Aircraft in its class. LCA will be able to take on a lot bigger planes then itself at once. However due to cheaper cost of home production and continuous indignation efforts with TOT will be further reduced cost. Moreover not to forget it serves as a stepping stone for India's next MCA. MCA will be based on LCA and would be developed at a lightning speed where everything will be picked from LCA and refined further for a bigger and more powerful platform.
No LCA is a collaborative venture and still in process of giving out the final product. Due to changing strategic conditions (Specially Pakistan and China trouble) our Air Force had to change their expectation from the fighter. India was also sanctioned not to be supplied Arms and equipment help by US and its Allies. Considering all that, the current version of LCA is OK as a experiment and when the Mark II and later versions of the Aircraft will be rolled out with all the problems addressed

Do you even know what a 1st generation aircraft is? It is the Me-262 equivalent aircraft. JF-17 might be in active service, but it only has some seriously pethatic avionics suite, while the LCA is one generation ahead.

Wrong. China never said the JF17 would be introduced to it's own air force. The JF17 programme is to build a Pakistan-needed aircraft and solely to this goal. JF17 is fully operational and China is flying J10 as it's own light-weight fighter.

Many experts believe that JF-17/FC-1 is more in a competition with MiG-29 only it being a single engine & since IAF the only threat to Pakistan/PAF has large number of MiG-29s the JF-17 would fit right in the PAF. JF-17s can provide a greater defence against them aswell as take on MiG21, MiG-27, Jaguars etc (excluding Su-30MKI & may be Mirage2000H aswell).

There's no need to use the word "vs". JF-17 will f*ck LCA like crushing a little piece of muffin. JF-17 is a "ready to fight" combat aircraft. It's not the best one, but it's using matured technologies and everything is well integrated. And LCA? it's been 27 years, and it just got a IOC-1 certificate. And even HAL admited that this IOC-1 certificate is not complete.

@sunnyboyyee There is no comparison between LCA and JF-17. JF-17 Is fully operational and LCA is almost a Failed project. Many experts believe that JF-17/FC-1 is more in a competition with MiG-29 only it being a single engine & since IAF the only threat to Pakistan/PAF has large number of MiG-29s the JF-17 would fit right in the PAF. JF-17s can provide a greater defence against them aswell as take on MiG21, MiG-27, Jaguars etc (excluding Su-30MKI & may be Mirage2000H aswell).

As of right now Tejas is inferior to JF-17.The underbelly weight of Tejas limits its speed and ordnance carrying capacity.Small nose intakes limit its high speed manoeuvrability.Hal is trying to fix.JF 17 has a higher air to air and air to ground capability.Above all JF-17 is a fully operational fighter whereas LCA is still underdevelopment.Though it has inducted for face saving of india but IAF has admitted that it could be good trainer but not good fighter due to its v.limited capabilities.

JF 17 has a higher air to ground capability but they come pretty close in BVR combat, may be even Tejas might be superior to JF-17because of its powerful radar and the fact that India has more options for BVR missile than China.
both are nice looking aircraft. i really truly wished we wouldnt fight and do things toghether. speak the same language, do same traditions and make mockery of our selves by fighting. good aircraft LCA and JF17. fly together, not fight.
TD 1 and 2 , PV 1-5 , LSP 1-4 , 5-8 under construction will be ready by this year end. and about foreign help which part of ,let alone inch of j 17 is made in pakistan.. enlighten me..
and ya indians can fly planes and are really good at it.. thats why we have the 4th largest airforce in the world...

Its multirole fighter with all AG and AA capabilities....delta wing provides more agility and maneuverabilty ...
I think JF-17 should b compared with F-16, LCA is not of that standard.

Indians have tried to make LCA and are facing many problems.
Pakistanis are getting JF 17 from china - which btw Chinese Airf Force rejected earlier and at present under evaluation with upgraded features. This fighter also has a russian engine.
So net is India has tried and facing problem.
Pakistan is getting a rejected chinese design.
Yet look at them!!

JF-17, I reiterate is a sub-par fighter to fill numbers for a rapidly deteriorating PAF.
LCA Mk-2 in development would be a game changer, IAF has already ordered 40 Mk-1s.

@skhan1992 ,visit site of PAC Kamra of Pakistan.EVERY system of jf-17 is Chinese or Russian or Western. NOTHING is Pakistani.BTW the avionics of JF were delinked from its airframe development to enable its early induction.JF-17 is still wandering on its avionics .The F-404 of LCA and Russian engine in JF-17 have similar thrust figures, BUT LCA being lighter has better TWR and the LCA actually gives us our own capabilities. Pak has little apart from JF-17.No wonder it has to treat it as a god!!

There's no need to use the word "vs". JF-17 will f*ck LCA like crushing a little piece of muffin. JF-17 is a "ready to fight" combat aircraft. It's not the best one, but it's using matured technologies and everything is well integrated. And LCA? it's been 27 years, and it just got a IOC-1 certificate. And even HAL admited that this IOC-1 certificate is not complete.
