One year during its infancy, there were upwards of 2000 riders. The weekend weather was a washout and the trails were ridden heavily and there was a good bit of damage. This caused DirtRag to limit the attendance, until the magazine went under and the event was rebranded, though never ever quite the same. If anyone can remember Mt Bike Weekend in Jim Thorpe, Pa. Went on for 20 years and drew a thousand riders every year.
Thank you for sharing some of that history with us! We didn't know much about the history going into this weekend, and from the people we met and the commenters on RUclips we now have an idea of what Dirt Fest must have been like! Wish there was something like those festivals around today in PA. Sounds like a good time! Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment!
Dang! I think something caused the event planning to have a few hiccups this year so there wasn’t much talk about it. We were keeping an eye out since people have been telling us to go for a few years now!
It’s a great spot! And not sure! You could call the seven points marina visitor center and ask. That way you will know for sure. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching! 🤙
That’s awesome! Can’t go wrong with any of those activities! The kayaking was super chill in the morning hours. I was surprised I could even do the one legged squat! I can’t usually do those on flat ground, so don’t know how I pull that one off! 😂 Thanks for watching and hope you have a great time at Raystown! 🤙
I’ve heard of the trail days before I didn’t think much of it because there’s not much info on it like you said but it looks pretty fun I’ll definitely have to try to make it out next year. I was also hoping I could ride the big ride that you guys Did a video on a bit ago I was planing on bringing my bike on my vacation down to raytown in a few weeks but of course I just snapped my derailer hanger bent my derailer bent my chain and my chain ring and I’m definitely not spending $300 on that so I’ll do it next time
Yeah man that’s exactly why we went! So many people over the years have mentioned something about it but it seemed to us like a total mystery, and we wanted to demystify it! And dang dude that sucks. Hope you get it sorted soon! 👍 Maybe we will see you at Trail Days 2024!
Was cool seeing you two, wish we could have rode together but its such a big place its east ro see few people other than at the few points people tend to gather. Talked ro the guys from Rothrock Outfitters and it sounds like the person that was supposed to do all the planning just moved out of rhe area months ago and never really said anything to anyone. We rode before the rain on Saturday and then just chilled at our camp i that relaxing rain. Still had a great weekend, those trails always payoff :)
It was rad meeting you too man! Definitely would have been cool to get a few runs in with you and your bro! And that makes sense, it definitely seemed like there was some confusion in the organization of the event. The homies from Rothrock Outfitters made a solid effort to rally a few people around the visitor center and create the camaraderie were hoping for in a MTB festival. They were super cool. You're lucky you got a ride in before the rain! I was hype to get some laps in at the skills park after. That dirt was primo! We had a great time too. Allegrippis doesn't miss! 🤙
I was there! Never ran into you guys though. We were riding most of the time lol I didn’t come out to the festivities on Saturday night, one of my friends is newly sober and we were supporting him by staying away from alcohol. It would have been neat to meet!
Most people we talked to seemed to spend the weekend riding which totally makes sense! We didn’t drink either so he would of fit right in! We stuck to coffee to manage riding all weekend! 😅 Maybe we’ll see you and your friends out there next year! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! 🤙
Used to be Dirtrag Dirt Fest until Dirtrag went out of business a few years ago. The event was in the Susquehannock campground and every year had 2-3 thousand attendees, bands, multiple breweries, tons of vendors and the biggest bike brands in attendance offering demos. A shame how it died out

Great video! I'll be going to ride those trails soon and maybe get some kayaking and hiking in as well. One leg squats though...yeah nah! Lol!
