Looks lovely, mind you the last one you had in silver was also nice! As a suggestion, why don't you do a follow up video on the cars you have bought and sold? A quick summary showing the the purchase and selling price would be good. Also what you thought of it when you had the car.
My 2007 SERIES 1 is in similar condition, I had the use of a new corsa recently and my 14 year old BMW still drove better and felt newer. Fantastic cars and I will get another newer one when needed but not the newest model because its front wheel drive.
Thanks for your comment Tony, I would really like to try out the newer 1 series range too, I hear the 1.4 is a great car, and of course very economical, but still a bit beyond my price range right now.
Thanks for the comment, I did top up the oil a little, and my light went out, but I imagine it came back on again by now. Great cars but they have so many common faults it puts me off!
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes Yeah its a real shame, mine only comes on when its at operating temperature and when I come to a stand still e.g lights, they are lovely cars to drive but shame on them needing intense maintenance 🙈 couple months in had to replace battery, thermostat, camshaft position sensor and coils 🤣🤷♂️
What’s the going price for this car now in 2023. Dealer want near £3.5k on 85k miles on the clock…MOT pass all the years when check also. Still a good car?
I think you have to bear in mind it's a 16 Year old car now, so £3.5 seems a bit strong? personally I think sub £3k would be better, you can find the M-Sport for £3k privately with similar mileage, I would also like to see a camchain change and possibly a clutch been done if coming from a dealer.
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes thanks for the tips…well bear that in mind if ever we decide to go for that one and will see the cars papers on what’s been that to it. Thanks again 👍
Good looking car. I tidied up my daughter's 2006 badly peeled red Kia door mirrors, couldn't get the Kia paint locally, was advised that BMW same era was same red but turned out also unavailable. Online cost of shipping to us here in NI meant it was £27 a can with the new customs charges that Boris assured us wouldn't happen! 😣 Local bargain shop I got a large spray tin of generic red 151 auto paint for £3 and u/c for £2, thought got to be worth a punt on a £250 car! Virtually identical! Mirrors and door mouldings now look the mutts if I say so myself. 👏😁
@@umz2k9 A Goggle search will bring up lots of results, but chain tension is a known failure point, electric modules fail just for fun, so check ALL the electrics such as windows/mirrors etc, but as I said just use Goggle to search for "common issues or faults|" then at least you have something to check for 🙂
TBH most Bmw engines have lots of "common problems" many cam chain tensioner failures, and electrical issues, I personally didn't have any issues with this car, but now it's 16 Years old, you might want to check for any engine noises on cold start up, smoke from exhaust (if it's a Diesel) make sure everything works as it should electrically, lots of sensor issues too, and missing pixel on the radios.
I've seen a 118d really good condition inside and out, no real issues on the mot.. only like £2500 but can probably cut a deal with the dealer. I really hope someone doesn't nab it before I get chance to take it for a drive and decide if I want it.
I just seem to get on better with Petrol cars, and in my mind, there is less to be worried about, no DPF, no ERG Valves, Swirl flaps, etc etc, plus the smell! much rather have a Petrol car. Thanks for subscribing,, and for your comment :)

Yes thought you might like that little analogy haha, great cars on a budget, parts are dirt cheap as there are so many on the road (and off the road) just make sure you ask to hear it start cold for any cam chain rattle, the tensioners often fail on these, . and that's an expensive fix! and if the Miles are over 100k check the clutch for slipping or high bite point. thanks for the comment :)
@@flippingcarsrepairs I've not really had any major issue's with them, and the fees are LOT cheaper than Copart! plus only £30 delivery for me as they are so close to me.
Wow what a steal man.... I mean literally and for what you paid 😅 haha but jokes aside well played you can have some fun with it and make a profit 😉 I liked the 1 series but always put me off a bit how expensive for the age they are and expensive repair costs but looks in fine condition and for the price I would have took a chance also
Actually yes I would, if you can afford the insurance of course, it's relatively small engine at 1.6 and in a quite heavy car, so it's not mind blowing speed! but they are cheap cars, and still pretty sporty for a younger driver :)
It's always just a temporary fix on a low value car, why spend lots of money? It won't add to the overall value in the end , these fixes are just quick and dirty 😉
What a steal!
I'm amazed that shade of Red has held up as well as it has over the years.
Yeah I was quite surprised that the only issue's were the paint on the wing mirrors :)
