    Love it…I remember when they won the 1000, sand I thought that little Bronco was the ultimate machine and I wanted one badly. But I was a student at the time and had no money…fast forward a few (40+) years and I finally found and rebuilt my dream machine, a 1969 Bronco.

      David, this is before the fire. Jay has had many interviews and been out in public since he got out of the hospital and even did a stand up comedy show in LA the other day. So he's doing ok, heck I'd say great, but yeah he's got scarring on his mouth and side of his face, and on his hands. But his attitude seems to be "no big deal", he doesn't care what he looks like. I think he said that he's gotten skin grafts in the hospital so he does look a lot better, especially on his face.

      Same here, they even show 3 pedals on the floor then in another shot the automatic shifter

      Its had an engine change, the new "crate engine" has an auto box.
      The original engine would have been a manual box.

      When originally raced it had a Toploader 4speed, and never raced with a stock Bronco 302 (which had 200HP in '68), but with a Stroppe built 302 good for typically 325-425HP depending on your abilities, gauged by Bill.

    Bill Stroppe built the Bronco equivalently of the Shelby Mustangs. The Stroppe Broncos were all V8s my friend bought one new in 1971 it had a Boss 302 and a four-speed. Definitely well over the 100 horsepower 200 cubic in 6 .lol

    • @MarianoACV
      @MarianoACV Год назад

      maybe a cobra engine not a boss 302 (unless it was swapped in). Ford only did a prototype with that engine

      @leewilliams2094 Год назад

      @@MarianoACV The Boss 302 was installed new by Bill Stroppe's Long Beach shop. It was available on special order. Standard Stroppe Broncos had 200 horsepower two barrel 302s with headers being the only power adder due to smog regulations. Special order vehicles like those with the Boss 302 power could only be delivered outside the state of California. Much like Shelby he would build special orders any Way you want it. In 1967 one Southern California dealership built Broncos with 271 horsepower 289's.

    As a Canadian it's funny to see the name PUROLATOR as that is for oil and air filters in the States. Here in Canada it's our post office owned courier company. It had been the filter companies delivery arm before it was sold to the post office i believe.

    Jay, consider moving to Florida. I'm in Sarasota, where Brian Johnson (AC/DC) and Jerry Springer live, and people just say hi when they see them. No cameras or paparazzi. Brian is also a car guy. I think your life would be much easier here without people asking you questions every time you're at a gas station. I wait tables/ tend bar when I'm not flying airplanes and have met them both dozens of times and everyone leaves them alone.
