For the following Event you'll need
A PlayStation 3 console
A copy of Killzone 2 any region
Wired or wireless connection
Set your DNS to the following
Primary DNS 67.222.156.250
Secondary DNS 1.1.1.1
A PlayStation 3 controller.
You can also play KZ2 via emulator. If it is your first time playing on the server I suggest you attempt to join a game with the following search criteria and confirm your are able to search for games.
Matches "ranked"
My rank range only "no"
Region "worldwide"
This is a private public server and anyone is welcomes to use. Just remember to set the DNS to the correct address. Happy Gaming!

Those wepon animations were way ahead of their time, reminds me of MW2019
Playing this on an HD tv back then and noticing the engraving on the M4 revolver truly shocked me at how well designed Killzone 2 was. Kudos to Guerrilla Games.
This game looks incredible, i'd say a decade ahead of it's time.

Indeed! You can really feel the passion and the effort of the developers in older games like this. Take for example the og Gears of War trilogy or Bungie Halo on the first Xbox/Xbox 360. Even now they are simply stunning. And most importantly, fun to play. Recent Gears or Halo are a hot mess, lore-wise and/or on a technical level (physics, attention to details etc...). It really saddens me.
Gaming is no longer immersive, sadly it’s all about the live service model.
@@Donut_VanguardMan, I remember the massive controversy about KZ2 being revealed with CGI and then being blown away that they actually managed to make the real game look like that. The 360/PS3/Wii era was the golden age IMO.

Killzone 2! The best entry in the series. I wish more games had a botzone or horde mode like Killzone and Gears.

The level of experience is a mix of both casual and hardcore veterans so no need to be timid. You should emulate it and join the mayhem!

Nah, that largely adds to the atmosphere and gameplay, and this is coming from someone who typically despises low FOV's. It's largely why the game is so weighty-slow, always gave me hardcore metal-futuristic-BFBC vibes.

We really need more games like this. I remember playing 007 goldeneye on the Wii and it was much more unique and fun to me than the tradition COD game. Maybe it’s just me but I am completely burnt out of COD and would love to see more games like this from other developers come out with their own twists on gameplay and gadgets.
Unfortunately many small studios are bought by AAA companies to continue working on the same franchises that people are burnt out of.
Never played these games other than the first one but I gotta admit I regret not being able to and you can’t deny how immersive these games strive d to be especially considering the tech the devs had to work with
Very true, PS3 was a difficult console to develop for. But you are welcome to play, it’s a public server. If you have a good computer you can always emulate the game. And if you need a saved data to unlock all the soldier classes and abilities there is also a solution to that.
Damn man I had no idea you could still play this! I like late last year went back and watched a bunch of videos on KZ2 gameplay because it is still amazing to this day, so glad you and others are still playing

How are you still able to play it online? I still have my ps3 connected online and it's not letting me play any of my killzones online.
We play Killzone 2 courtesy of 1UP and K3rberos who built a costume dedicated server. There are other handful of games available to play online as well, not just KZ2. You only need to change your DNS. Here is a guide to help you to connect. psrewired.com/guides/ps3

No sir, the input delay is what gives the game the “weapon weight” and is what makes the game unique in my view.
As an Xbox owner, I always look at Sony and just don’t understand how they haven’t taken over the multiplayer shooter scene.
If they made a modern day ps5 exclusive socom

Not sure if Bungie can do well with KZ, I played Destiny for year and the game has become a micro-transaction hell. Profits over service..

lol! I experience it when your faction does not destroy turrets. Rockets are the counter to turrets but enabling the assault class makes the lobby extra laggy..

I am playing this on my original PS3. Lobbies are full on weekends and small lobbies pop up during the week as well. You can’t play this on PS5 unfortunately.

How are you so good with your aim? You're playing with a controller, right? Never got used to aiming with controllers since mine was not of good quality back then.
Yes sir, I am using the original DualShock 3. The only advantage i used to get my aim on point is playing almost every other day 😅
@@Donut_Vanguard Most DualShock 3 I bought are fakes nowadays, can't aim properly since the sensitivity of the thumbstick is stupidly bad.
Wonder if I can emulate it and play with mouse and keyboard instead. Wouldn't that be a bit of a cheat though...? Hmm...
@@sebastercats6123 Yeah Sony is missing out on money, people play PS3 a lot of the lack of Dualshock 3 controllers is baffling. You can play with the mouse and keyboard but is very janky. Cheating happens when you play the game at 60 fps lol. Good luck finding a controller my friend. Or turn up the sensitivity on your fake ps3 controller. hope it helps!
Confused, to emulate do you need ps3 still? Ive been craving this game again for like 10 years
No need for a ps3 if you use the emulator. The only thing you need to keep in mind is to install all the emulator updates one by one. After that you need to get the ROM and also update the Killzone 2 version from the first release to the latest update in order to prevent display and gameplay issues.

Killzone 2, 3 and Shadow Fall servers are all officially closed. Killzone 2 is played via a fan driven server and KZ3 is in the works to be brought back online but no timeline has been given. Just got to wait for now.

I miss these games online, it’s kinda sad that they look better than modern FPShooters like COD and Battlefield, I remember playing Killzone 1 and MGSO on PS2 every day after school lol they were both ahead of their time in different aspects.
Truly gaming has regressed and the new “live-service” model is driven by profit. A sad day for sure.

The official servers were shutdown about 7 years ago but now the community plays via the PS Rewired server. The discord to the official PS Rewired has all the info and is on the video description.
I remember my disappointment in the PS2 when in the game we don't play as the helghast😂 "I want to play as the one in the cover!" I don't remember if it was Killzone 1 or 2 though.

The leader of the red eye rangers was DJ Tony Carter. He was co-leader with someone else but I never knew who it was. I did hear clan matches were canceled at times but don’t recall. I am more surprised you remember me being in the red eye rangers.

Man I think I played this with my mate like 15 years ago on Xbox 360, such good times talking shit in cod n halo etc, he had a projector in his room and we’d just play until his mum called us for some food and then we’d hit the herb and maybe go skating or keep playing, this just made me happy and kinda depressed 😂

killzone 2 made me buy a ps3.
Same, I even burned my disc ready because I played this game too much.
Game is great butt controls and aiming feel off compared to other games.
Slight input delay, is what makes the game special but it can be annoying.
My first 2 games i purchased for ps3 was out of the bargain bin killzone 2 & fear 2 my 2 all time favorite games.

Looks astonishingly similar to Killzone 3, which I thought would look years ahead of 2. In fact, there's hardly a difference!
Killzone 3 has a more lighter color tone compared to KZ2 but the it did not revolutionized or innovated much. KZ3 is a good game but compared to KZ2 it’s inferior.
Gaming is a money making machine now. It’s all about milking the consumers for every cent they got. It’s no longer about making a quality game with a lot of content to make us happy.
Now, they release a game half way done, and they just charge you money for the rest of the content. It’s absolutely pathetic. This industry is at its worst right now. COD with its stupid battlepass crap and all these stupid skins that cost a ridiculous amount, EA just announced that the new BF game will be a live service game, Halo is a live service game, you got Ubisoft making you pay well over $100 for a complete game, sports games are trash, racing games are pretty trash as well now….i can keep going.

No joke, I play the multiplayer every week. Join the PS Rewired discord and put the DNS address into your network configuration and that will connect you to the multiplayer on the PS Rewired server.
