5 years away from when the pandemic hit. Can only imagine how many more players could've join PS Home when people were stuck in the homes without being able to leave. I would imagine PS Home would've been perfect in that scenario.
I'm an officially recognized Senior Master chess player, close to the level of a Grand Master. Years ago, inside PlayStation Home, I used to play people in chess, there was a board. And one day i met this person... That beat me swiftly! I was actually a bit shaken, and we played again and it was a more protracted game but they still beat me with ease and grace. It was the only time I ever lost there. Edit: there's so much footage here that I had no idea existed inside home before, i never saw much of this. And this video reminded me of that memory that I had forgotten about. Playstation home was absolutely incredible!
Yes PS Home was so ahead of its time, pretty crazy looking back on it, and the fact the PS3 even handled it considering it couldnt even do cross game chat. 7th gen was definitely a special one
It had a voice chat party feature, cross game. I guess even cross platform cause you could get on the chat on a vita? People just didn't use it a lot. Wasn't as popular as it was on xbl for sure but I used it
@@chiefpacman um PS3 did not have cross game chat, it did have a party feature which i used, but you could not use it in game, it was basically its own app. In PS Home, it was essentially, in game chat, since it was all in the Home app
I miss PS HOME and LIFE WITH PLAYSTATION... I miss old Sony in general. Such great company back then.. All those neat littlr features on ps3. You really felt the love they put in. Same on Xbox 360. The two best consoles ever released
It was a nice time in PS Home. I had so many friends there from all over the world and we had so much fun there. It's just a shame that it was discontinued. That's it for the Little Big Planet servers, where all the community's work in levels and so on was simply ruined. Sony today is no longer what it used to be and will probably never be again. 😒
PlayStation Home was ahead of its time and unfortunately of it's time in the fact that IT SUCKED. Every time I was allowed to finally connect nothing was happening, nobody was talking except trolls and the promises Sony was making never delivered. We were supposed to be basically Fortnite when they have concerts for an artist on a grand scale. What we got was a pool game and a glorified hub to walk through unless you paid Sony for each thing you wanted. Those things that you did want was very little and overpriced
Ya think this may comeback in ps5 life cycle or something they me be prepping for ps6 ? I think it’ll return on next gen i think it’ll be ready by then with all. The innovation with ai and chips
It's being brought back by fans but theres already 2 different factions with their own different versions and the 2 get in fights just like toxic fams back in the day. Can play them on a ps3 emulator or a jailbroke ps3.
It's rediculous how much I would spend on this stupid, wonderful game lol. I got my first job in high school just to help pay for houses and clothes with my friends. Playstation Home was an absolute boon to the system in between major releases. It felt like a second home I could go back to when I was done playing, full of events that were actually relevant and engaging to people who liked to game. Home worlds sold me on like half of the games I ended up buying for the system, I even imported Siren Blood Curse from Japan to have the physical version because of that stupid hospital world I loved to hang out in so much. Alas, much like everything Sony does, they love shutting down their projects, studios, and products the second things don't look like they'll make them immidate massive profits. Now they don't have a market in the handheld space because they immediately gave up on Vita due to their own faults. They don't have a steady release of first party titles because they laid off everyone making the games that defined their brand. They don't even have a console that can do half the things the PS3 could do almost 20 years later. And they don't even have their own metaverse because they threw away this beautiful community they had. Rest assured you can trust them to increase the price of their subscriptions and controllers without any added benefits though, and don't forget about pumping decades of playstation home server costs into games they keep online for a week before shutting down because they don't even know what kind of games their consumers want. At this point, Sony might recover eventually, but this generation has been the generation that they've shown that they'd rather erase everything that got them to where they are, in order to chase trends that never existed, and end up with an entire catalog of cancelled games that they know wouldn't sell. I wouldn't count on them ever making another home, and if they did, it would be the furthest thing from what we actually wanted. The devs were ahead of their time, but Sony does not want a community. They want you to know you're only a wallet to them.
Sony needs to bring back the PlayStation 3 design it was simple modern and futuristic at the same time why the fuck did they give it up for this mediocre minimalistic bullshit?

@@billyboy17ifyin just a sense of community and making money off customizing would make Sony top tier
London studio died @@billyboy17ify
Ever since PlayStation moved to California they've been making horrible moves They wouldn't make such an intelligent move like that.
I miss this.
I logged on every night for an hour or two.
It was the best. I wish they would bring it back on the PS5.
@@thaistomp its still active on pc and ps3 with crossplay
I was a teen playing this and never had so much fun on a game since

nice video!
Just like everything good that falls into their lap, Sony didn't put enough effort into Home.
They need to re release it and hire Destination Home team.
Bring back home!!!
Sony should definitely make a Playstation Home game with characters making their own avatars. It would be a massive hit!
I miss it.

…how is this video so small? Very little likes and comments after 4 days! Tf happened?
A lot of people seemed to enjoy it so that's good at least.
To think in 2024 meta cant even match this lol
Commenting for reach
Always appreciate it!
