Gilbert once said to Charlotte randomly “Ere what are you doing here, then?” My brother and I found that randomness hilarious. Now and again over the years I’ve said that line to my brother and we both laugh about it remembering it from Gilbert the Alien 😊 A nice memory trail, don’t know how I ended up here 👍🏼
@@SteveInScotland believe me it was every bit as hard as you would imagine not to loose it completely when in earshot of that daft alien, yep I was a huuuuge fan of our snotty green friend too.
I am 60 now but used to videotape Get Fresh back then purely for Gilbert. No disrespect Gaz, i was too old for the real audience at that time. I still have a compilation VHS i made of all of Gilberts best moments. It was legendary, Phil was a genius. I remember him seriously pissing off Kim Wilde, magnificent.
Have you got any clips of Your numbers up to show? Here's Gaz Top, Here's Gaz Top!! Unused to like the opening part of the show when one of Holywell's most famous sons made his entry, hosting the quiz show on Friday nights. Mid 90s I guess.
Sorry Owen, Your Number's Up (1986/87) is about the only series I ever presented that I don't have any footage of sorry. Probably just as well though, as it was just a terrible mess of a programme .
Got really nostalgic about my youth in the 80s watching this...my god it seems a lifetime away now.

Gilbert: "I can't hear you, I'm a long way away now."
How on earth did you keep a straight face during his bits? I used to be in tears laughing and I was always amazed that you never seemed to crack.

Jeez, I used to watch this when I was younger (I’m 43 now), I don’t know how you could stand presenting with “Gilbert”, continually talking over you.
I actually went to this live recording with my mates. I'd love to get a copy of the episode.
Raven the copyright is owned by Yorkshire TV / Granada which is now part of ITV.com so try them I guess is the best advice.

This edition of _Get Fresh_ was made by Television Simply Wonderful. No thanks to Lennie Bennett for that one.
