Things about this video I find truly amazing: 1) Your skill at cutting and sculpting the foam board. 2) The attention to detail right down to the tiny parts. 3) The overall final effect of an aged vehicle that has seen some rough use. 4) Your patience. This must have taken many, many hours to complete. Great job!
So nice to see something that is not 3D printed or cnc. I tell my sons how we always made things from scratch and the quality it adds to the overall presence of an item or personal possession. It's a quality that cannot be mass produced. There was an old fellow near me with a heavy German accent that used to build things from wood, card stock and any other available resource and make some of the most stunning models. A lot of military planes, vehicles, artillery and locomotives. Some with a diorama setup. All gleaned from photographs. He was a former history teacher. He claimed that this modeling brought him that much closer to the history, which was his true passion.
my god. I could watch you build these forever. I looked at your other vids which were okay but your build videos are the best thing ever!!! please do more!!!!!
this is amazing, and here I am geating my head around a series 1 land rover pickup! wow, so much detail and realism, certainly you are skilled in building and painting. very inspiring
I do not know what to say . . . this is truly amazing and a pleasure to watch you build. As has been said a true master, and not in wood this time too :-)
Man I keep seeing builds that blow me away, but this is some real next level shit. Awesome, absolutely amazing build. Just sat and watched the whole 18 min video.
I've watched this video back in 2014 and now I was re-watching it. Thanks for let all the info in the description, I have plans to start building some dioramas and I guess I can use most of the base materials. You're the best man! I also love watching the trips along the forest.
That was an awesome build! Nothing like a lighter or a fireplace to make pieces bendable....love it! Also loved how you scored the textured seats FREEHAND! Wow! That takes some confidence. And best of all...Bacharach for background music! You can't go wrong. Thanks for showing us your process. Cheers, D
Your talent at making and assembling these vehicles is fascinating. You must not have ever had a cup of coffee in your life. The steadiness of your hands must be incredible! Love watching you work.

i have been doing rc since 86. in the beginning it was rc cars then i graduated to planes now i do both. over the years i have met some awesome scale plane builders. you my friend have surpassed them all. very nice work sir
Enoch001 The song is "Wives & Lovers", originally by Burt Bacharach. But there's like a million different version/covers so hard to say which one he uses in the video.
It's probably "Wives and Lovers" instrumental version, I'm trying to find one similar to that since I kinda recognized that song from the "Goodfellas" film..
Need This In 1/6 scale dude!!! Gonna follow your tips but I'll use 1/4" styrene. I just finished a total scratch build WWII German Late Tiger 1 Tank In 1/6 scale myself!!!
amazing work....but im having trouble finding this komacel. I found the homepage for the company and there are many products they make, but I don't know which you used or where to actually buy the stuff. it looks like it has a thin plastic outer shell with foam core, thus benefits of both balsa and plastic materials.
I'm not sure where to get the komacel new, I get it as scrap from a signmaking business. Its not foam core, its a solid vinyl sheet. I prefer the 3mm thickness best. :)
Headquake137 thanx for replying. iv been wanting to take a 1/8 scale MOA crawler and build a ladder chassis and a '87 Toyota pickup body for it. I wonder if those square vinyl self-stick tiles would work? I don't think they are as stiff as what you were using tho. and im not so sure you could sand/round the edges like you did. that was the cool part, you could form it like a simple sheet good, but sand it like balsa or other wood.
I think this model just looks like junk,, you should just send it to me so I can further inspect it and give you a 2nd opinion...... and I will just go ahead and keep it so that you can regain you respect as a modeler .... lol. Just kidding - that my friend is amazing and well done.
