Excellent review. I purchased one and have been enjoying it, but there is definitely room for improvement. Another alternative that you didn't mention at the end is the Life Behind Bars Transition Tote, which I think is an even better tote/backpack combo.
Cool review as always. I can personally only see one function for this bag: Taking it to the beach! Or am I thinking too simplistically? It looks great but I can't really think of any reason to use it other than the beach (and yes, also because it easily holds a sixpack :P) Cheers, Chris
This is a dealbreaker for me. I won’t get it for this exact reason. Too many good alternatives out there, where you can also fit the essential camera cube.
Love the idea and I had my eyes on this for a while. Thanks for the review! However, I think it should be smaller.. a bit more compact for a daily carry and it can be expanded for a day to the beach, as the items you would bring, would be lighter, rather than items you would bring on a hike. Shoulder straps wise, I would have loved to see them more padded to support the extended mode. As I don't think would be comfortable to carry in tote mode while fully packed and extended. Also because it is not a packable daypack, shoulder straps wouldn't impact the size or portability. Packable daypacks are useless to me, I would rather fold/press flat a good backpack like the Victorinox Altmont Active Lightweight Compact Backpack 18L, rather than a Matador or Osprey packable daypack.. Yet ,a great product and looking forward to trying it out if it is not more than 200 EUR XD
Got my bag and was a tad underwhelmed. Your review made me feel better about it. I will get use out of this when I travel. It’s not life-changing but it’s good enough. Pros: feels majorly sturdy and can take a beating. Con: It could be smaller and therefore a tad lighter. And doesn’t that G hopk feel like it should be facing the other way?
looks good for travel - stick it in your travel bag and it can help out in a few ways when out and about on a trip. looks like it can fold pretty flat to be able to stick in a travel bag.
It's interesting that these Tote's/packs are coming out more and more. I'm still a meh. I don't love the roll top. I think Peak Design or Bellroy are a little better. I think I still stick with packs :)
Roll tops look cool but are highly inconvenient vs. a regular zippered bag. You do get some extra capacity if you actually unroll the top but then it's completely unwieldy
Any bag that advertises features such as any alternative way of carrying the bag should never compromise on comfort. This is a personal pet peeve, because if any carry mode isn’t comfortable it’s basically useless unless it’s an emergency and should be designed and advertised as such 😂
I wouldn’t say it’s useless… just less comfortable lol. But totally get what you are saying - the whole fusion doesn’t work very well if comfort is compromised
I dont get it. Do you go shopping and then turn it into a backpack? I recognize I am the ignorant one here. The Belroy tokyo looks nice though. I am averse to all black anything.
Do you want to see the backpack that I'm making? 👉🏼 nomadsnation.com/building-a-backpack
In backpack mode, you can wear the tote straps around your neck and unlock insane mode
😂

Thanks so much, and I'll be sure to check that bag out

Def a great beach-er bag! I’d also say as a packable bag for when you are traveling
Fantastic review - I do wish it could zip up in tote mode- totally didn’t even think of that when I got it.
Looking forward to what you hear about it when you get it Bianca 💪🏾
Same! And it could be smaller. Haha

glad to help! I don't think it will cost more than 200 EURO, but you never know with your guys' high custom fees!
Flat backpacks ftw! I hate how the packable bags look packed out.
@@semzip8558 yea they look better flatter for sure

Not sure about the G Hook but glad the review helped clarify some things for ya!

Exactly - great to compress and use for day trips as a tote. I’m not as sold on it as a backpack though
Just received the bag. Backpack mode is ok. Most likely using it as tote. Look good to have on travel.
💯
Love the idea, if i didn't already have the ultra packable Veer, if consider this one since it looks like it would pack well.
💯
How does this compared to the Bellroy Lite Totepack?
I prefer bellroy personally

Yea it’s a great idea, I’m just not sure about the implementation
Roll tops look cool but are highly inconvenient vs. a regular zippered bag. You do get some extra capacity if you actually unroll the top but then it's completely unwieldy
agreed, but roll tops also give you extra weather resistance and less zippers that can potentially break - pros and cons to everythin
Life behind bars makes a much more elegant tote former the Transition
I’ve heard good things about it

It’s just to have both I think. Sometimes you need a tote (beach, shopping, etc) sometimes you need a backpack (day trip, hiking, etc)
That's mom's work bag.! Cowabunga..!!
moms got good taste!
Wandrd IS a little extra on the branding. Big ol branding on travel pack is too big. Wish it was tiny, subtle.
Agreed
