Idea: Keep the difficulty polls. Instead of using buttons, make people vote on a slider so they can choose *precisely* where a tower's difficulty stands. Then, after the polling period, plot the density of the votes, with difficulty on the x-axis and vote density on the y-axis. This plot should look roughly like a bell curve, where the peak of the bell curve is the average vote (i.e. the tower's true difficulty). Because this system is so precise, it would be pretty easy to identify outliers/troll votes. (Disclaimer: I have not taken statistics)

My idea for difficulty polls: Difficulty polls will be permanent, and there will be a new GUI for voting in the menu. People can only vote if they have completed the tower. People can type the tower name and the difficulty they want it to be (in decimal form) To prevent trolling, the difficulty they can choose will be no more or less than 0.3 away from the current difficulty of the tower. Soul-crushing towers also cannot be demoted to remorseless.

Another problem with difficulty polls is that you can vote once you reach the later floors. The problem is that they may vote on an inaccurate difficulty as they haven't played through the whole entire tower.
they should make all the towers that you have to beat the whole tower to vote on it, because for example it could get way harder in the floors afterwards, and people that fell wouldn't know.
Zone 5 dif polls incident: Many towers got shifted 1 difficulty below from their original placement. People wonder how (insert the hardest tower in Zone 5 when it releases) Insane difficulty since the tower was long, hard, punishing, and had no breaks and jumps ranging from extreme-terrifying. One answer: trolls using many cheeses to vote the lowest option in dif polls. Edit: This incident will NEVER happen because the polls got removed.

Hi logan, I have an idea to fix this. The JToH dev team could revamp difficulty polls to have a gradient and a slider. For your ToBT example, it could fade from a pinkish shade of purple to a bluish shade of purple. You could slide the slider in between the gradient and then submit. This would allow for your ideas, and also have a more simplistic and compact touch.

You said we shouldn't agree with everything as even you don't fully agree, and I guarantee you don't like the idea of removing them completely. Many people like sharing their ideas. However, I feel a good idea is for the jtoh discord to have a channel for difficulty polls, showing proof they BEAT the full tower, by win message with no boost items. If this were to happen, they could list their opinion with reasoning of why. Sort of like a suggestions channel. Joke opinions, such has something super over/under rated, would be banned from talking in that channel. And for the towers, don't give a baseline difficulty, besides the chart itself. The only flaw I can see right now, is people copying images. So, maybe their could be a role added into the discord server, specifically for voting on difficulty in the channel. Highly unlikely, but I feel this would be a great way to remove joke polls
A good solution to the trolling problem would be to have username and account age data to go along with each individual vote. For towers like ToAM and ToCR, this would make it easy for the staff to determine which votes are faked and which aren't. For the lower difficulty towers, it would definitely be a lot less manageable, but I don't see that as too much of a problem, as there will be much more people voting, and thus, much more people voting accurately to their opinion, since trollers exist in low numbers and they'll usually go for the harder towers.
If you ask me, if a solution (doesn’t have to be perfect) for the difficulty polls isn’t found soon, it should just be deleted. With that said, in order to allow people to more accurately vote for a difficulty, adding more options is a good thing in my opinion. Adding a confirmation window and a waiting period would also help with this. I also think that you should beat the tower before being allowed to vote on the difficulty of that tower. Lastly, adding restricted access alongside the things said above could be a good thing if handled properly, I like it as a concept but I hope that it can be executed properly. Thank you for reading.

I believe that putting the curator+ only system AND the difficulty poll system would be the best option for jtoh, because 99.9% of them would be legit. And even if they posted troll videos, they could simply be banned from voting.
if GoE got difficulty polls it would be chaos first people would vote ToPA down to challenging due to how easy it is for intense also many people would vote SoO and SoN to be hard making the area with the most hard towers/steeples and it’s gonna be like Challenging Atoll 2
