I was standing about ten yards from the demolition plunger. As the charges went off, the engineer in charge dropped her binoculars, said “uh oh” and ran for her pickup as the cloud of dust grew. When it cleared, you saw that only part of the walls had gone down.
Did they disclose what went wrong and what could have been done differently? I'll watch the full hour video and see if the footage shows it, mishaps with building destruction come in many flavors
I remember that Morning living in The Field aka Richfield. Got home from Graveyard shift, Living on 63rd and Lyndale. I planned on going to watch but people told me it was blocked. So I watched it on TV With a beer in my hand***BOOM*** about 5 seconds later I could feel the rumble all the way on 63rd and Lyndale. The best part is hearing the loud cheer from on lookers after the dust settled. The Old Met still stood, it refused to go down without a fight😢 #manymetcentermemories
Did the Stars always play at the met? I remember being a kid in downtown St Paul watching hockey, and loving it. Great memories also of watching flat track racing at the Minneapolis armory and getting loopy from the exhaust that wasn't exhausted and clothes stinking the next day of exhaust. Wrestling matches at the Minneapolis auditorium after Thanksgiving dinner... I think I saw John cougar and the grateful Dead at the met. Wild that that space is still unbuilt if I heard correctly.

I saw the shrine circus there in 1993 when i was in 3rd grade.
Why does the Met Building look like an old Macy's building '.' 😂
Especially the Cerritos, CA location. 😊
Someone threw an M80 onto the stage at the Dio/Megadeth concert back in the day and Ronnie got real pissed and was very willing to stop the show.
Dad was an usher. Oh the stories & acts he saw.
