Thoughtful review. I think your point that Fascination Street not being up to the high standard of the rest of the album is pretty accurate. Pictures of You is my favorite.

Disintegration definitely wasn’t a single. (Although it should have been) It was my foray into the Cure and it could’ve been for more people. One of the most spectral tracks I’ve heard and in terms of brevity and intensity, nothing comes close. The album’s sound hits early on like cold dusk and rises into high humidity under a full moon. Finishing with a lightning storm of chorus and abyssal emptiness. A real spectacular sadness, and a highly stylized tour de force.

hey man, it would be interesting if you checked Charlie Megiras stuff. you can get into a big rabbit hole into his stuff, and the live videos are interesting. over all a mysterious figure, who sadly decided to end his own life.
