    The glow of dawn is amazing. To me dawn represents new opportunities ahead. Rest up and enjoy your ride over to Hokkaido. I’m sure lots to reminisce upon as you cross over where the Pacific meets the Sea of Japan. Live your dream. Rooting for you all the way. Go John!

    Hey John. Nice Video. Enjoying watching your travels. Say, you mentioned at 5:58 about the trucks taking the ferry because it is cheaper than the tunnel. Actually, however, the tunnel is only for trains, so the ferry is their only option to get to and from Hokkaido.

    Have fun John. You look good for someone getting up 3:30am! Shoe Goo is what I use on my hiking boots. Don't know if they sell it in Japan.

    I wish you a good sleep in the boat and a happy traveling in hokkaido. I cant believe that your journey comes to the end soon. I saw all your livestreams and I am a little bit sad at the moment, but I am happy too, because you show us the beautiful of Japan. :)

    Great as usual John. Please elaborate on the shinkansen and tunnel I don't think many of us know much about it. Thanks

    • @ashboon1625
      @ashboon1625 7 лет назад

      Xcaliber Trekker The shinkansen John is talking about is the Hokkaido Shinkansen. It runs through an undersea tunnel called the Seikan Tunnel that links Honshu to Hokkaido. It is the world's longest undersea tunnel.

      Welcome! I think I was subscriber 174 for this channel, and somewhere in the 70,000's for the main channel. It's always neat to remember how long you've been following someone. And since RUclips doesn't give you start following dates, this is the next best thing. :-)

    I wonder why they would schedule a boat so early if it wasn't economically practical since there's such few passengers. I know they will still run a scheduled ride but over time they should have a good expectation of the number of passengers unless this is also a car ferry. Never mind, it is a car ferry and it makes more sense now.

    You are travelling quite far north. Sapporo is even higher than Oslo, Norway. So, the higher up you go the longer days will be for you like here.

  • @colincofield3747
    @colincofield3747 7 лет назад

    Hayabusa! That's the name of the Japanese pro wrestler. Other than that, it means " The Phoenix 3". Phoenix as in the mythical bird that burns up when it gets old then, is reborn from its ashes.

      Colin Cofield
      hayabusa is a japanese Peregrine Falcon that is known for flying rediculously fast. It's also the name of a well known Motorcycle.

    • @colincofield3747
      @colincofield3747 7 лет назад

      Your right my bad. It is a Japanese Peregrine Falcon. It also can be the unman spacecraft launched in 2003, but I liked Hayabusa or H the Japanese Pro wrestler. He was a really nice guy, not to mention his wrestling moves.

      Andy P could be :) I live stream to be spontaneous and bring a story live OR get a chance to talk with people and share an experience. Being live is much more interesting to me, to see comments and adjust to viewers feelings, share more of myself n a freer medium. The main channel is certainly more polished and story driven. Together, it’s a nice combination or free & formed stories.
