This is a 10 years video from my other (now defunct) RUclips channel where I am testing my 3 finger picado speed. For online Skype lessons please visit my website www.grishaguit...
_"I can go beyond this. I am nor sure if I should or not"_ Strings might melt ? Fingers might fly off ? The cat might have a seizure ? The swat team would break in because they detected a new sound weapon ? :D
You are not from this planet! ❤️ The speed, the clarity of the sound, how to get your right and left hands in perfect sync, and how to easily control the accent of each note. Amazing
@@ChrisWinter_ The real masters of speed are playing across all 20 or 24 frets and all 6 or more strings up and down. Grisha is a top player, but he is too proud and he is BORING. ruclips.net/video/6TU_VK9NCXM/видео.html
Grisha, it looks like you are playing rest stroke with 3 fingers - is that correct? I always though that Serranito and Paco and Gerardo used only free stroke with 3 fingers.
Could you share the actual method you use for sharpening shaping your nails for playing? Everyone has a style but as guitarists, we need a consistent method to ensure perfect shape each time.
Can you play at the same tempo for example scales of Entre dos aguas? also depends on what you play, it's easy to play on one string, especially when you play triplets :)
Were you thinking maestro Grisha bout creating some consistent DVD step by step programme to buy from you, with your personal take on the basics of flamenco technique? Kind regards from Poland
Grisha plucks the first string only. To cover all the strings including all frets of the guitar one has to use a dual technique. It never works with 3 fingers. Finger picking is good for polyphonic play. Using a pick is good for real speed. ruclips.net/video/tgbqsQvr-aI/видео.html
No, he used 2 fingers for rest stroke picado. He could, however, go just as fast using free stroke with 3 fingers. He did it often during his improvisations with the Trio.
hey maestro, do you do the fast picado always with three fingers or with two? and could you be same fast with 2 fingers like 3 fingers? very nice video always here love your technique ❤️
@@davidszirmai Why use 3 if 2 does the job? One will be easier than the other depending on how many notes per string you are playing (even or odd) as you move through the run.
@@Mike-pv3hg Well, he said himself that 3 is a lot faster and easier. That's why I wondered why he said he usually plays with 2. Those two statements together don't make sense to me.
@@guitarista666 economy picking is like 3 finger picado. You can break 300 without tensing up, but it’s not punchy like 2 finger picado or alternate picking. We all got our tricks!
@@guitarista666 Listen here: ruclips.net/video/P5_boUYRQA0/видео.html using a pick is faster especially 3:55 till 4:25 in the video. The superiority is due to the dual movement.
I do a little bit of that. I showed a friend of mine how fast I could play a simple scale. He said, " That's just a blur!" What Grisha is doing is a triple blur!!
Do you think that it would be possible to get much quicker at picado speed runs if I adapted to the 3 finger technique? I feel that if I can get more comfortable with that, it should be a lot quicker. Love u grisha
Maestro, can you make a version with a camera from the neck? So we can observe too how it looks as the fingers touch the strings at those lightning speed. Thanks for this video! One of a kind!
Thanks! I recorded this about 10 years ago, and only did this one take. You can watch my fingers in my intro to 3 finger scale video, or in my flight of the bumblebee. There is also this video, not sure if you've seen this. ruclips.net/video/AKoOsJAulAw/видео.html
@@guyscounter I do have the score. The only thing is, that was created in a collaboration with my friend and duet partner Jerome Mouffe. He currently is a guitar professor at the New England Conservatory. You need to get his consent.
I am not sure if I should, as that arrangement was a collaboration with me and Jerome Mouffe. You can contact him, and if he is fine with it, then I will send it to you.

HAHAHA! Or I get too nervous and start messing up!
Sounds incredibly even in 16th notes, amazing
Well, he could do 230 bpm with 2 fingers. But he'd rather not go beyond this because his guitar would break😀. Indeed he's the greatest of all time!
It has a reason why Grisha stays on the first string and doesn't skip strings.
I wouldn't call him the greatest paco is
But he's 2nd indeed better than sabicas
Hw would be better than paco tho he still has a lot of time
Impressive. You didn't miss one single note in the whole video. The coordination between the left and right hand is also amazing.
Great to see how a master develops their technique. A truly inspirational player!!!
An amazing display of skill, and very informative. Thanks Grisha! Would love to see more technique videos.
I'd like to know what do you eat
Coffee beans for breakfast???
My guess would be energizer bunnies
Unreal
Thanks! You've just gave me such motivation after so many years to finally quit guitar!
😂
😂
Don't do it!
🤣
Grisha, just amazing to see! Thank you so much
Incredible.
Amazing
You could do a speed test with 2 fingers too
I am pleased to let you know that you passed the test.
Outstanding
Amazing … I’d be happy to achieve half of that speed and precision

Be careful or your fingers will break the sound barrier and cause a sonic boom.

3 finger picado has problems with string crossings

Me parece que nunca has escuchado a paco tocando en directo ..

Insane maestro
Would you recommend teaching an absolute beginners 3-finger picado or 2-finger picado to start?
Hi guys! I think, first teach 2 finger picado with all 3 combinations, and then introduce the 3 finger pattern.
Grisha, it looks like you are playing rest stroke with 3 fingers - is that correct? I always though that Serranito and Paco and Gerardo used only free stroke with 3 fingers.
Rest strokes. I practiced all 2 and 3 finger combinations and directions with rest and free stroke as for many years.
@@Grisha_Goryachev ...and it shows! Thank you - all the best to you.
Amazing...
Grisha, George the instructor from Las cuevas de carmen, said use it as imai like flamenco tremolo, but you use it like classical tremolo ami?
It depends on what the scales is, how many notes it has, how it crosses strings, what the accents are, etc.

That's right. The same argument goes for entre dos aguas, because the fast runs are on adjacent strings.

Yes, I think so.
Are there drills to even be remotely that fast?
