In my opinion, best Metalcore solo ever. The switch from the cleans to lead is so good and the melody is so angelic yet fuckin slaps. This song has everything, but that solo is what makes this perfect.
This is the first time I have seen a video of someone playing this song i like since the old Killrbuckeye videos back over 10 years ago now. You nailed it on this one bud. Really enjoyed jaming along with you. Also, was nice to finally see how to play it correctly after all these years of just winging it. :D
The Fall of Ideals and Trivium Ascendancy are the 2 albums I loved the most back in High School and I can still go back to them and consider them favorites all these years later
I remember playing this on Guitar Hero and was immediately hooked after that. Fall of Ideals was the kickstart into my journey into metalcore and I’ll forever be indebted to ATR for providing me an escape when I put the headphones on. RIP Oli. 🤘🏼
This record was definitely the standard bearer for this band and put Oli on a different level. The question that remains to be answered now is what the next album sounds like with Jason Richardson on lead guitar.
Fuck, brings me back. RIP Oli Herbert. Feel like ATR dropped off a cliff after this album but fuck, This Darkened Heart and The Fall of Ideals are two of the best metalcore albums ever.
@@ShadowSlayerSD5 Disturbed is considered Nu-Metal, but still a banger. I still think that solo for inside the fire will go down as one of the best Nu-Metal solos of that time period
'We Stand' and 'This Calling' were the songs that got me hooked on All That Remains. It's been a while since I've listened to them, but this album aged like fine wine.
I’ve been on an All That Remains kick lately, I haven’t listened to them that much since Oli passed because it just bummed me out. But damn man you uploaded this at a great time, great cover as always Nik! 🤘
RIP Oli Herbert. I met him back when For We Are Many was released. He was the coolest dude and encouraged my friends and I to continue to play music with our shitty high school metal band. He made a difference in my life and I’ll never forget that! 🤘🏽💔
As a kid I never listened to metal until I played this on Guitar Hero. It quite literally shaped me into picking up electric guitar and becoming a metalhead.
@NikNocturnal , brotha, if you only knew how much joy and how big the smiles seeing you jam this essential metalcore banger brought me, man. And the fact that you're really feelin' those gnarly riffs and enjoying yourself makes it that much more awesome. Thank you, dude. For real. Also, you taught me how to play it, too, as well as, i would assume, at least a few dozen decent guitarists how to jam the shiz and jam it correctly. So, thanks again, brotato. You da shit. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🖖🏼✌🏼
I love the clean part of this song. From heavy to sweet is so awesome and personally I think more bands should do it. It brings a nice balance. And a huge shout out to Nik for doing a killer job.
Man, listening to this makes me sad that Oli Herbert is gone. I was a huge ATR fan and met the band several times back in the day. Met Oli and the rest, all great, welcoming people. Still a fan, just not as rabid. Was pretty impressed with their last album. Nik, you paid great homage to an amazing guitarist with this. Oli was one of the greats.
OH MY GOSH! I am so glad that you uploaded this! I have been wanting a good tab for this for SO LONG. I remember playing this song on guitar hero 2 so many years ago as a younger kid. Thank you for uploading this!
I saw them for the first time in my 25 years at my local county fair a fucking month or two before Oli passed... I thank God for giving me that moment with my father and cousin after many years as a long time fan and getting to see the man himself before he left us tragically :/ RIP Oli
I don't think will ever get any positive response and think it's a lie but when I was 8th grade my music teacher asked us to do a project on a band you love. I picked SOAD and I was embarrassed that everyone hated my music. I picked 2 songs from the mezmorize/hypnotize dbl album. Not long after that Mrs Pearson asked me to go to her room after school. I thought I failed the project. Next I know I'm in the room with her nephew, Ollie. He was a guitarist in a local metal band called All the Remains and I was like dude fuck yeah. Never knew that the band was as popular and hadn't even heard of them yet. Years later I'm like woah I talked with a fucking stud of a guitarist. RIP but your legacy lives on. And thanks to his Aunt for doing that for me.
I just want to add that i was in 8th grade in 2005, and the local bands around our area were also shadows fall, kill switch, I think acacia strain (Chicopee) and I was just a little too young to go those shows.
Still have that guitar pick Oli gave me back in like 2007 first time I saw them. I was standing front row center. At the end of the show he reached out and handed me his pick. This inspired my long road towards becoming a full fledged metal-head Lol. May he RIP.
I remember seeing these guys live and I lost it when they played this song. They did a meet and greet, and I was wearing a Dimebag Darrel shirt, and the singer stopped me and said "love the shirt, bro!" Such a great teenage memory
I watch a lot of these videos Nik does and sometimes it looks like he’s having so much fun playing. This video looks like that you can see the joy on his face, in between guitar facing. Love the video love the song.great job
Yess. I had a buddy a while back and he was like give me a song to listen to. So I sent him this song haha. Next day he comes to me and told me he was having a rough little breakup and shit and this song helped him feel better when I sent it. For whatever it seemed to relate to him and I was like well damn see that's what metal does. It's always there for you when you need it
Wow... thats all I can say... I've always wondered what this would look like in a chart because I can read music much like Helen Keller can read a map. Thanks for this. Truly amazing and absolute appreciation for those who can play it.
So glad you covered this song. Much of the Fall of Ideals is just pure gold and this song was my first introduction to ATR. Through Guitar Hero, of course. :D
This is why I have a volume booster on my browser. Phenomenal cover, I've ALWAYS loved the solo to this song, it's a great display between pensive thoughs, sorrow and sadness, building into passion and rage. You nailed it spot on.
Amazing cover! One of the first metal songs I heard almost a decade ago, which got me into metal music and playing guitar. Thanks for the nostalgia and wish you the best!
