Their sophmore was a mixed bag and when The Discovery came out, I was back even though it was more structured than their debut. But after that, yikes. So many ideas that with stronger composition would have been cool but just a lot of meh songs.
Honestly, I think that Jason deliberately pumped the brakes on this track. That's not to say the writing is negatively affected, just to say that he knows what All That Remains is and has been over the years and wrote riffs that have his own JR spice, but fit right in with the ATR canon, so to speak. These riffs are hard, but there are plenty of players that could easily play this in the future; even the solo. Well executed by JR. This is a great demonstration of how he's maturing as an artist. I'm sure there's gonna be a few absolute face melters from him, but I'm willing to bet there's going to be more digestible and appropriately written tracks just like this one.

Then Jason walks out and Im like "wait a minute. Is that who I think it is?". He is so fun to watch. Such a technician. No unnecessary fluff.
Saw you guys in Tampa in late August. You guys actually crushed it. Thanks for stopping in, even though it was such a small venue and I bet you guys were dying in the humidity, even though that place was air-conditioned. As a fan, I love the smaller venues!

However, i believe the addition of Jason Richardson has revived the legacy of the band Ollie helped create, bringing them back to their roots, with an updated feel to the genre. ATR is so BACK!! And I'm here for it!!
I love how Jason joining didn’t change the classic sound that All That Remains has always had. He’s simply building on what they already have and enhancing the guitars. Truly talented to learn their style and begin writing with them like this. Also looking forward to more music.
I love how you kept Oli's flavor in your riffs. It has that Fall of Ideals vibe, and just adapted so well to the band's sound to where this kind of sounds nostalgic

Jason is an absolute unit on guitar, dude is so technically proficient and also an incredible writer and performer.
