Aiki Counters | American Yoshinkan Aiki Jujutsu

Skillset denial is a major attribute of the aiki body. One of the fundamental principles of aiki is having more control over your own body than your opponent does. So rather than focusing on what your opponent wants to do, maintain the integrity of your own structure and turn the focus inwards.
In our system, this technique used as a counter is called Kokyu Nage, but in our parent art it's called Aiki Nage... That is, they are thrown simply by your having aiki.
