"Thing Tim Burton Said upon meeting Johnny Depp somehow makes its way into the script" in response to "Can I bring him to show and tell Tomorrow?" is the funniest line in this video.
"Edward, that was our last ball!" was the funniest to me.
"Hold Me." "I can't." The most heartbreaking exchange in the movie, I always tear up. Also, Winona really suits blonde hair, I'm so used to seeing her as a brunette, but she's apparently a natural blonde.
I didn't know she was a natural blonde. I thought she went blonde for some movies
This looks rather reddish to me though.
Look at a persons eyebrows. I am naturally blonde and my eyebrows are too.
How dare you sin my favorite X-mas movie! 😂
@@CordeliaWagner u really cannot tell with some people tho, my eyebrows were always brown bcs i had brown eyes with blonde hair
3:35 Edward doesn't age, so the inventer died probably years upon years ago and his body just decayed over time and Edward didn't know what to do. So that could explain why Edward is so timid he literally saw a body decay for him over the course of years.
If you think too much about Tim Burton, your brain WILL explode. He's literally a drug-induced hallucination *within* a narcotic-driven trip.
🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨
@@Novastar.SaberCombat actually Edward was an original character Tim Burton Drew as a young boy Edward is Tim Burton's isolation and loneliness because he didn't go out much when he was young.
Let's discuss your written response to loneliness @@trackmastertheman7801
Excellent point. That should have been mentioned in the movie. Edward could also have found a way to move the body. If not buried it in the ground, then under leaves and mulch or something.
Annnd I absolutely love this butttt.... She had cottonballs and astringent because of Avon I would believe. To remove the makeup she tested? :-) still so glad to finally see this one!
Something that always bugged me with this film is how one moment Edward is incredibly dextrous, capable of sculpting lifelike ice sculptures or styling dogs' fur/people's hair in seconds, and the next moment he's a bumbling idiot with the coordination of an drunken hippo.
To be completely honest Johnny Depp absolutely kills it in this role and the fact that the guy was kept under extreme heat conditions to the point where he was caused extreme discomfort and actually passed out on several occasions. The guy deserves so much more credit than be gets.
Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the Deppaganda is crazy
@@youknowwhoyouare2269oh so it was you who was complaining on Twitter during the trial
You’ve got to credit the make-up artists who helped Depp in his performance. Without them that child like air wouldn’t have work.
Johnny Depp couldn't possibly get more credit than he already does. People worship that psycho.
So cool! Hey if you squint your eyes it almost makes up for the fact he's an abusive asshole.
You MISSED the biggest sin of all at the end of the movie - how did Edward get all those slabs of ice up to the attic, who bought them to him, I have so many questions
16:48
True
could have been that in winter the ice and cold came through the roof at the top there was thevbig hole and hes carved the ice part into ice and it started snowing
@@siobhanmcgoldrick4549be realistic nigga it’s just a movie
I mean he essentially lives in a giant scaled bakery, I’m sure he has access to water and a freezer
TBF, Tim Burton certainly WANTED to use Vincent Price as The Inventor more, but he was seriously ill at the time he was making the movie, so they cut down on a lot of his scenes to make things easier for everyone. This ended up being his final live-action role before he died three years later.
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Fun Fact: The first draft of the film was written as a musical, a concept Tim Burton would revisit for The Nightmare Before Christmas
I have seen a ballet version from Matthew Bourne. It was beautiful and really leaned into the idea of it being a fairytale, especially with the ending.
That fact wasn't fun at all
What's this? What's this? There's sharp blades on my hands! What's this? What's this? They'll slice your I.T. bands!
I'm surprised this movie hasn't been made into a Broadway musical yet.
@@adamgreenwood9785 Recently saw the ballet and it's so good to see some of the plot holes filled in and know that it's been done by the cowriter of the original. Beautiful ballet, one of my favourite of his x
This was filmed in a Tampa neighborhood near me. The people were paid big bucks to have their houses painted like that and then painted back again. Tim Burton said the clouds in Florida, made the sky look magical, or whatever. We do get some awesome looking cloud formations down here almost daily.
That's cool. ❤
4:00 - Is she a real estate agent? 'Cause I thought we'd established she was a Local Avon Representative.
She isn't a real estate agent. Jeremy did not watch this movie. Of course she has skin care implements... She even says "Avon calling" when she enters the house. This episode is confused.
I cry everytime I watch this movie, such a masterpiece. I get all the sins but it still has a special place in my heart, plus the aesthetics are just spot on ❤
Especially the end, when Edward is making it snow because he cannot be with Kim, it's so heartbreaking 😭😭
Tosh.0 has a classic video for your sensibilities "I just wanted to make it snow😭" @@dennergas
Me too! Waterfall... Every.. Single... Time... 😭❤️
Damn, you hard on this one. The best way I've heard this film described is, it's a fable. It's not about reality, practicality, logic, or common sense. It's a fable about a mythical being that helps contextualize a moral.
Just tell everyone that you're Joyce and Eddie's illegitimate offspring and leave it at that
You hard on?
I don't even remember this being the premise of the story. I barely remembered anything about this movie, beyond the "And then she took all her clothes off" scene. I totally forgot it was a bed-time story telling, nor that it was a 'moral' on how snow came.
This and Sleepy Hollow were my favorite Tim Burton/Johnny Depp Collaborations. Excellent film!
Johnny Depp must have been eating good if he had friends with Tim Burton!!!
Sweeney Todd is pretty awesome too!
Corpse Bride and Charlie was amazing too. Frankenweenie, as well.... can't remember if Depp is in it. Everyone else is.
Crazy to think that this movie convinced the world that Johnny Depp had scissors for hands.
crazy...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fact.
LMAO!!! The shadow of the Turd lives on.
Amber Heard definitely believes it
In my most recent viewing of the film (which is currently free to watch on yt), I finally realized the older redhead woman rapped Edward, and then told her friends he rapped her when Edward was getting into trouble (previously that scene was always skipped/cut or I must've missed it, cause I don't even remember the scene from before when it played on tv).
And then she never got punished or anything for it. Edward told the family what happened, but the parents immediately brushed it under the rug. At best the kids looked concerned for like 2 seconds, I guess?
I hope he wrapped his "rap" up w some serious beats! 😆 ooooh..... you meant "rape"??
if you only saw it on t.v. the scene would have been cut. because reasons
thats cause the media has decared "women cant rape men"
@@cmdraftbrn yeah, I can see the Disney+ version cutting that scene, but the film also shows on Prime, which shouldn't matter.
@@paul16451 They said TV, not streaming services. The scene is intact on Disney+-
I died of laughter when he said “those are not fucking grapes”and zoomed in 😂 I’m still laughing five minutes after first seeing and hearing this
Jeremy was mad from jump, looking for things to sin😭😭
I was a teen when this movie came out in theaters. I took my best friend to watch it with me, little did she know I was in love with her.....but I couldn't tell her because she had a crush on another guy. This movie stuck a knife to my heart and I went home depressed. Many years later I'm happily married and I watch this movie with a nostalgic smile on my face. I wonder what happened to her, she's not on social media.
Are you married to your best friend (when you were a teen)?
I thought you were gonna say you stuck a knife in the other guy for a second
@@OniDemo We have to know this
@@Inkyinko facts
@@OniDemo I assume not or he would have said "we" not "I".
First of all, how dare you sin this master piece! But secondly can you do Crybaby?
fuck i love crybaby!
Never mind the rest of the neighbourhood, what about the rest of the world? The film seems to be implying that all snow, everywhere, is the product of Edward's ice-sculpting.
I always took it to mean that it hadn't snowed in that particular town because, you know, it's Florida.
I always thought this was a Horror Movie as a kid. Boy was a surprised when I actually saw it the first time.
I just found out half way through watching this video that is wasn't!
This is an unofficial sequel to Nightmare on Elm Street with Johnny Depp's character doomed to eternal torment
Same. I thought Edward was meant to be a slasher killer based on nothing but a sped up gif of him cutting the woman’s hair, cus I mistook her horny face for despair😭I was pleasantly disproven when I actually watched the movie
Peg isn’t a real estate agent, she sells the stuff she applies to Edward’s face. That’s why she has it lol.
22:10 that outtake from Batman (1989) is the perfect touch!
A sin or two off for Danny Elfman's score, which is not only constructed around UNfinished motifs and chord progressions, but has since been used in countless trailers and ads for other whimsical mysterious media.
I actually thought Joyce kicking the dog was a hilarious touch
A part of this movie was shot in a historic shopping center in my hometown in Florida and I swear to god, the people who live here think it's the most fascinating factoid you've ever heard.
Anytime anyone asks about our town's history, we don't talk about the organized crime or the town's founding. They don't talk about a lot of the beautiful nature we have around here and what's been done to protect it over the years.
No, we're interesting because our Publix got a little cameo in a 30 year old Tim Burton movie.
When you see CinemaSins choose some of your favorite movies ever to tear apart:
YESSSSSSSSS
Every time I watch this movie, I have to cry. It’s such a beautiful movie
Yes, I have the right to enter and ascend YOUR staircase.
Behold the power of AVON💅🏾
* Sorry the costume department was phenomenal in this and since I'm biased towards this era of fashion early Avon was bananas in their marketing and sales strategy!
Watching from Asia, continue to sin away 🌺
10:26
Another SIN for the fact that every single kid is looking in a different direction.
A beautifully tragic movie. Burton in his prime. 👍
In defense of the globes, in 5th grade, Ms. Myers had a bunch of globes for each student. We only used them once but it still stands. minus one sin
Unlike the classroom in this movie, it really cut me deeper than possibly unwashed scissorhands that my childhood classroom didn't even contain one globe thereby making me less worldly than students who had a globe (or multiple globes) in their classroom and ultimately resulted in me trying to buy my first car with cookies.
You can buy a car with cookie-shaped coins, though. Especially if they're stored in a cookie jar. Just smash that thing right into the salesman's nuts; yeah, right in the nutz. Break off a piece.
"KEEP THE *CHANGE*, BEOTCH!"
This is real, "everywhere, such as, the Iraq" energy, don't overexert yourself sweetie
Now that's a run on sentence i can respect.
Ah Edward Scissorhands, another one of Johnny Depp's most memorable roles!
Still love Jeremy’s Edward Scissorhands vs Freddy Krueger line like he said good callback to Johnnys first ever role
I'm surprised they didn't make a backstreet boys/Nick Carter reference. Seems like something they would've known about
GRANDMA JUST TELL THE STORY ALREADY! YOU KNOW YOUR GONNA DO IT ANYWAYS!
She was the original tik tok story teller
It always kills me how she just takes Edward home like he's a stray dog
Every scene involving Vincent price should’ve had a sin removed, especially since he was in frail health at the time. Also, it was nice that he starred in a movie directed by someone who considered Price an inspiration
3:56 This is actually kind of brilliant. She sells Avon, so yes, she has cotton balls and astringent (probably as part of an anti-acne skincare routine).
Ahhh yes. The love child of Freddy Krueger And Tim Burton
You forgot to sin the fact that the cookie making machine never cleans the cutters or other things using the process of creating the items, so you know they are most likely very dirty.
They totally missed an outtake opportunity with Winona holding up the scissor hands like Woody holding Buzz's arm.
So...Edward Scissorhands is a Christmas movie.
If we can call Die Hard a Christmas film, we can put this one in the category as well.
How dare you.
I agree
Throw the whole pagan holiday derived from Roman saturnalia all-inclusive sex rituals away🚮
Well calling die hard a Christmas movie is F'n moronic....but whatever makes you feel better. Everything is a Christmas movie...why the hell not
It recently occured to be that one of the Lethal Weapon movies was a Christmas Movie, too.
love this movie they literally don't make them like this anymore
About the movie having Vincent Price in just three scenes. From what I've heard, there were originally going to be more scenes with the Inventor, but actor who played him, the Late Vincent Price, was sick and frail at the time. Edward Scissorhands was one of his last three movies before passing away in 1993. Which makes the Inventor's death scene more heartbreaking, not the fact that Edward Scissorhands lost both his chance of having hands and the only person who he has to a father, but the actor playing him dying three years after this movie came out was also depressing
I literally just watched this last night for the first time and was bummed that there was no cinemasins for it what are the odds?
I love how the grandma says "he gave him everything, but he forgot one thing" "he didn't have a name?" "of course he had a name you dumbass child what gave you the idea that he didn't"
According to IMDB, Vincent Price was supposed to have a larger role, but he was suffering from Parkinson's and emphysema.
Avon sells makeup, not real estate!
Jeremy watched a different movie. He sins whimsy... he sins whimsy in a tim burton movie
To answer your question about why Edward doesn’t speak. Yes, you are absolutely right. Quiet in mysterious characters will always be loved more than ones you are inside the head of or who get a chance to speak. That’s why people lose interest in quiet, mysterious characters, when they are suddenly the main character.
Isn't the little boy running for the slip and slide Nick Carter?
Reading the comments, I see that some people are missing what this is actually supposed to be. Don’t take all of the events/ Elements in the movie as some literal thing that happens throughout the story. In concept, I believe that it’s supposed to be more of a modern fairytale, that a grandma is telling to her granddaughter, that combined the story of her first love and loss with snow falling. Like there are some elements that are supposed to be mystical Which aren’t going to make logical sense, like Edward, being ageless and blanketing the town with snow every year. It’s all one big fairytale.
There's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORNG WITH THIS MOVIE!!!!!!
Anyone feel old when Edward Scissorhands first came out on theaters?
👴🤷♂️guess I'll just reply?
That was a young Nick Carter on that Slip & Slide.
You’re not missing anything with the slip and slide. I was maybe about 20 years old when i first tried one and even at 20 I could NOT move the next day! 😂😂
You don't dare talk shit about this Classic!
first time ive caught a upload so early, but this wasnt the christmas movie i was exspecting to see from CS, but not dissapointed
22:07 “we were wondering if we could borrow some brown sugar?” Lmao
1:42 😂😂😂😂😂 I can’t stop laughing
Stranger Things 4 is just like this movie if Chrissy didn’t die in the first episode. Kim (Will's mom - Winona Ryder) is Chrissy, Jim (Not Hopper) is Jason, and Edward is Eddie Munson (same names, long hair, and considered "freaks"). I also never realized there's a character in this movie named Joyce.
Bonus double sin for the end: "And again, where is he getting those giant blocks of ice he's carving!" *DING*
OKAY BUT NO SIN REMOVAL FOR STAN WINSTON????
Also with the demon cut hedge how did Edward manage to put string lights in the eye and nose positions without sending a shed tonne of voltage through himself...he blew himself half way off the stage on the chat show by touching a mic :D
This movie made me fall in love with Johnny Depp and I've been a fan ever since
I admire how even a iconic movie like this can be sinned XD
Every Depp is with Sin
3:32 lmfaoooo yoooo im weakkkk me being in sales n marketing her pitching and trespassing has me SCREAMING 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 SHE WENT UPSTAIRS N TOOK HIM HOME PLZZZ I LOVE THIS MOVIE, BUT THIS CHANNEL IS ICONIC AND AWARD WINNING TOO
8:47 Because, despite the scissor hands, he's still Johnny Fucking Depp.
“A block of ice the size of a large phone booth” 16:57 ummmm sir what giant phone booths have you been using!?
This is the best yet.
Been watching you for years finally going to say something great 👍 work as usual
They could have called the crossover Freddy Vs. Eddy!
Jim's death is not supposed to be satisfying, it's supposed to be shocking. The town and Jim drove the pure-hearted Edward to murder, because he cared too much about Kim.
Wow, reading the comments makes me think about how underrated this movie has become, it's a classic, grew up watching it! My mom hates it because of the bully Edward gets, she always cries, I do too... The soundtrack and overall setting is amazing
“You want us to sell Amway” loved the GO shout out in the outtakes! You gotta sin it some day
Astringent and cotton balls are used for removing makeup! She has makeup samples.
Yesss! I’ve been waiting for this one!!
I SWEAR, I saw this cin already!!! WTH and WHY is this dejavu!!??
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Something you forgot to mention is where did Edward get those blocks of ice at the end to make those ice sculptures? It’s not like he can pick up a phone and have someone come deliver blocks of ice!
Here's a tub full of diarrhea's worth of Sins for not watching the entire video💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩
He did sin the one he had done earlier though. 16:48
I expected him to sin that too!
Definitely in my top 20 list 🤙
I watch this episode and can’t help but think of the music video Blackhole Sun- Soundgarden because it feels so fitting
I watched this while movie 3 hours before this was uploaded and got totally spooked to see this in my recommend
Takes a sin off for the stranger things joke 😂👌🏾
you are especially salty this time. loving it!
I love this movie so much. Ok, I had a terrible nightmare when I watched it for the first time when I was a kid, but... Now I love it!!! How can you not love Edward? ❤️ Plus, Johnny killed it. It's my fav Tim Burton char by him.
jeremy literally never misses
Thanks I was looking for this video
They should have removed a sin for Vincent Price. Because Vincent Price.
Sin-ona Ryder. Yup, correctomundo. "From this day forth, Sinona Ryder. So it is written, so shall it be done." Haha
I love listening to these while I’m driving around in my work truck
13:00 - The last time I stared into a camera like this, I was charged with multiple restraining orders. ;)
Are we not going to sin the fact that the grandmother thought this story was appropriate for a four year-old before going to bed???
Holy Hell!
I was just looking at the cast for the movie, and the boy on the Slip 'n Slide is one of those Backstreet Boys 😆
All the sins in this video is what I had for it
Half of the sins for Edward are dumb, acting like this guy who has grown up in near complete isolation will have common sense or understand social cues.
I would retract the sin for the TV and couch placement lol back when tvs were on the ground, viewing it wasn't the center point
cInEmA sInS
Something about this movie made me never like it. The idea of person living with screwed up scissorhands never sat well with me even as a kid. Felt too much empathy, so I guess that makes it a great portrayal of a ridiculous character.
THIS MOVIE IS GOATED
Been waiting years for this one
I was shocked when I found out the pastel suburb is not too far from my hometown. I have to go see if that subdivision still exists 😅
