It isn’t for me because I don’t do vinyl but it’s still really nice. But how many different ways do we need the Stones’ catalogue? I’m noticing a lot of overkill on box sets these past few years. I suppose if I had the space and the wealth I would spring for them. They’re all really nice and stuff but…. 🤔
I would love to own this box set but just can't justify the ca$h. Not saying that it is over-priced...just a luxury in these times. Thanks for unboxing!
Hi Barry. Really good video and looks a quality item. However, I was mighty surprised at the purchase price even though it covers a classic period of Stones material. As ever, beautifully presented in that wily old style of yours that is so engaging. All the best. Dave✅✅
That I can see taken place two years down the road when there is a big demand of people wishing they bought both box sets when they were available like last years Color Mono box set that I thought was a big joke I myself purchased the CD box set in 2016 had no need for the vinyl set . Abkco can give a us a Stereo or Remixed Stones box set but that will not happen like them focusing on other artists on their lable than just The Rolling Stones .
I thought About buying this but realized I already have every one of these 45s. Would have been worth it if it included Midnight Rambler or other Live versions from "Get Your Ya-Ya's Out"
A Stones fan wearing a - God forbid - a Supertramp t-shirt ; the 'crime of the century' is the Tramp' given a chance to record and their ultimate success...
For the love of god WHY? This is the pinnacle of collection obsession. I get the nostalgia but singles?! The only reason I ever bought singles was because I couldn’t afford the album and I don’t look back fondly on being poor. Money would have to be meaningless to me to buy something like this and there would be no point in playing them.
I am the same. I bought a few singles, about 100-150 tops in my whole life (still got about a third to half of them in a black plastic vinyl covered singles box (you'll remember those) and that hasn't been opened & looked in for decades. (TBH I should sell them) I have Not played a 7 inch single in about 40yrs! I agree with you, money would have to be meaningless (and in great abundance) to buy this box set, because it would just sit in a box on a shelf collecting dust. I only buy albums/cds that I'm going to listen to. Just not got the room anymore for anything I won't be listening to.
Oooooo! You lucky dog. I preordered mine because I like the first set so much. It was one of the nicest packages I've purchased in the last several years. Looking forward to set #2 arriving.
yeah it's funny .. I already have all the stuff I want from all these classic bands, so why am I going to keep buying reissue after reissue .. it's utterly ridiculous. The "remasters" don't usually "fix" anything for me.. These are just cash grab after cash grab. I listen to music, not gawk at pictures or memorabilia or whatever. I barely have enough space for all the music. The only time I even buy one if I have a bad copy and I need a new one, and even then I have to be careful what I buy because a lot of "remasters" actually suck. They're too loud and they sound isn't that bad when the volume is down, but you can't enjoy them louder like you can with some of the original recordings.
Is Street Fighting Man the original single take or the same take as on Beggars Banquet? There is a big difference in the vocal and this original version is quite rare.
A nice collectable box set, more for the completist Stones fan but, not for me. I literally never play 7" Singles. The only physical media I listen to are LP's & CD's.
I have the first '63 - '66 Singles volume. And I would've got this second one, if they stopped at the "Honky Tonk Women" single. A 12 single '66 - '69 set would have been much better to me. The rest feels like fluff. "Memo From Turner" isn't really a Rolling Stones single. And putting "Brown Sugar" and "Wild Horses" on the same single really marres this set for me. And the "Metamorphosis" singles aren't "real" Rolling Stones singles to me either. And I could easily do without the later singles, especially the remixes one. Sometimes more isn't always better. A smaller singles set would have been better. I'm okay with including that 4 song E.P.
I'm really torn over this set of singles. The ones from Paint It Black through Honky Tonk Women are great, but the collection falls off after those ones. As James Wilson 7084 has already commented, they've put Brown Sugar and Wild Horses on one single when they should be two: Brown Sugar with Bitch and Let It Rock (live); and Wild Horses with Sway. Memo from Turner is an okay idea, but none of the singles after it are worthy in my opinion. But those releases from 1966 to 1969 are so damn good....
It's a shame that the songwriting credits say (Jagger/Richards) rather than (Jagger/Richard). Also, I don't know why they are claiming the credit for I Don't Know Why - it's a Stevie Wonder song. At least they are also giving Taylor some of the stolen credit.
My only complaint is why is this box set single sleeves are bigger than the singles in last Rolling Stones Singles box set ? Abkco did a shitty job on this one you can not use the same outer sleeves that you used on the last singles box set you also need inner Record sleeves so the loose 45's does not do any damage the the 45 jackets with them moving around loose .
such a shame .The Klein co. rinsing the stones back catalogue once again Does everyone realise that Mick and Keith have no input or creative control over these releases and if it hadn't been for Paul Maccas perseverance the same would have applied to the Beatles catalogue . Nice looking box but it sours it for me .
Abkco and other Record compenies sends out free box sets two weeks before the release date to the people on here doing video unboxings of their products to the Record Compenies they see it as a better way to promote their products and for sure sell them its not fare for someone that put their order in right away when the ad first hit the web and get it three days after the released date .
There are several strands to music collecting - as there are with everything in life. It's not an either/or thing. There's something for all tastes - a bit like that brothel I've seen you coming out of.
The Jumping Jack Flash sleeve is my all time favorite. I was 16 when it was released.
I would buy this set just for that !
Great review.
It was not released in a picture sleeve in the U.K.
I like the Stones now even more than back in the day. Thanks for sharing this. It's awesome.
Always enjoy the pre-release unboxings. Thank you!
I Don’t Know Why/Try A Little Harder is not unreleased. It was a Decca single in 1975 hence why it is included in this.
I remember as a kid in the 60s my mother liked to have the radio on at breakfast. Takes me back when I hear all these old 60s songs.
Yes, very nice, I'm sure, but it's almost 200 English Pounds. There is a cost of living crisis on here!
It isn’t for me because I don’t do vinyl but it’s still really nice.

Fair enough!
They could have had Brian on the poster 😢
They had him on the last singles poster .
Why did they go back to mis-crediting “I Don’t Know Why” to Jagger/Richards/Taylor on this single version? It’s a Stevie Wonder song.
Because that was how it was originally released by mistake I suppose.
An absolute disgrace that, at $160, these singles don't have a protective inner sleeve!
I know I used mine up but where can I find the right outer sleeves that fit over those big dam big sleeve Jackets ?

Once again ----------------- NO protective inner sleeves --------- BUMMER!!!
I'm sick and fed up of these boxed sets and anniversary editions put out every ten years in an effort to make money.
Me too.
Exactly!
What a beautiful box set
How come this box 2 costs so more than the first box set ??????
My favorite Stones track is very early "Come On" which I think was a Chuck Berry number.Just thought I would be random sorry?
You're correct. It was written and recorded by Chuck Berry. The Stones' version was their debut single.
Next up! The colored discs versions! Duh! We've all been here before! 😂

It is!
Really, no poly-lined inner sleeves? I cringe every time one of the records gets pulled out of the cardboard 😢

Thats the box to own. No complaints.
Love the photography and graphics.
I can't wait to listen to all this new releases.

Hope you enjoy it!
The last great era of the Stones in one box!
Hi :-)
How many boxes are released ?
What is limited edition? Is that 1000 or 100.000 boxes? :-)
Judging from the fact that the first box released in 2022 is still available, I’d say they don’t limit them too strictly.
yeah it's funny ..

Great item, but I agree there's always the latest and greatest I must have 4or5 reissued collection plus vinyl stop the madness 😅

Looks brilliant. Good video.
does it not include 19th nervous breakdown? the US b side is quite rare
How can the Stones be a singles band yet have made four solid legendary albums?
Way more than just 4.
@@Skycladatdusk78 I disagree; I mean, four great albums worthy of classic status Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main St, Let It Bleed and Beggars Banquet
As I have had the cd box for many years I refuse to pay stupid prices for the vinyl.
Nice!!!

Interesting that the spindle hole is small like an LP.

All you need is Hot Rocks from this period.
Don't forget More Hot Rocks is a must own as well .👍👍
No it misses the last time and little red rooster.
Other good videos would be 'first album masterpieces'
Thanks. I’ll have to get this. BTW, I’ve just Christgau’s verdict on ‘Hackney Diamonds’. He’s not happy.

If the release date is Feb 2nd. How do you get them in advance ?
I've got friends in low places

i don't believe anybody plays this stuff-they must just look at it-is that really what music collecting has come to?how much the record is worth?
Not speaking for everyone, but I play the first singles box set, and will be playing the second.
There are several strands to music collecting - as there are with everything in life. It's not an either/or thing. There's something for all tastes - a bit like that brothel I've seen you coming out of.
Why wouldn't they play them?
I bought the Hot rocks sets years ago and have no need to buy it again at ten times thec price.

as George said beware of abko
Abkco, why oh why. Again and again the same stuff. Over and over again. For Christ sake stop and put out something new.
