I think it’s SO FUNNY how much you guys think Walker looks different this episode even though he did have a big growth spurt while filming he’s had an even bigger one since filming if you don’t want a big shock do not look him up now lol. Also what’s crazy is they made the tunnel of love scene darker. Technically in the book ananabeth and Percy just get a bunch of Love arrows thrown at them and a bunch of mechanical spiders and they were broadcasted to Olympus. So it was silly in the book so this change has way more depth than in the book. The books get way more darker as they go and the show will as well. Like “people will die darker”so yeah.
It is, as you say, very hard to find good traits in any of these gods historically, but I always felt the whole Hera's chair story to be kind of just. As I recall it (admittedly, a long time since I read any of these myths) Hephaestus was deformed, and so his mother Hera threw him off Olympus in disgust. He fell for a very long time and was further broken on hitting the sea, where Thetis found and raised him. The chair was revenge for Hera's rejection. As far as asking for Aphrodite in return for releasing Hera, I seem to recall that he was not the only god who wanted her, and their marriage solved the problem of many conflicts on Olympus. So his mother despises him, in most myths Aphrodite cheats on him, in some where he is wed to Athena, she won't consumate the marriage ... If any of the gods had a justification for thier pettiness, I would have to say Hephaestus had something of a case.

Hey great reaction been awhile ❤ not that I condone it, but there are some legends where Aphrodite was forced into a marriage with a Festus even though she didn’t love him so I kind of see it as a grey area. Please don’t come at me. I don’t think cheating right, but if you’re forced into a marriage they’re not very nice people either
