#ClassicMonday #Standard #Jazz
Bean. What a player. I have listened to this for 40 years and it always has me stopping my very breathing while it plays. Bean. He refusal to seduce with a weapons-grade-beautiful melody, probably the most seductive melody in all American music, is just SO DAMNED SEDUCTIVE. One word: gamechanger.
I was a 14 year old jazz freek when I got hold of this in 1975. Still great after all these years.I was young, and desperate for a girlfriend. I did get one, but they weren't into jazz, so I had to listen to a load of crap just to get my jollies ! Hey,we live and learn !
I always knew I was born in the right year - 1939
Merci 🙏
good songs never die
COLEMAN HAWKINS, Body and Soul, Outubro de 1939!
this is the greatest, beyond all doubt.
One of the giant songs and performances of all times

Masterwork: simply perfect.
I first heard this in the beginning of the 50th and we digged it for years.
He was a master of controling and develloping the cords.
