Or maybe Bonnie finds a way to 'make' more but she has her own stuff going on. But if that were the case it could have happened in season 4. I really hope they don't just ignore season 4. If they do it'll be blatantly obvious the writers just don't care anymore. :(

About the cure, either they are going back to 1903 and getting the cure that's still in that world, so that they have two doses, or they are going to take it the way Katherine/Silas took it. By that I mean, Elena drinks it and turns human, Damon sucks it out of her and turns human. Elena dies briefly but wakes back up and starts rapid aging to catch up to her real age (like Katherine), but in Elena's case, that's only 2+ years. Elena then ages normally. Damon must keep the cure inside of him, so that he will not rapid age and catch up to his real age, but age normally.
