Maybe a camera can capture what eyes do see, but with the passionate artist like you, you captures the beauty, emotion and inner soul of your portrait.
so much skill...so much presicion, such good decisions when they make their marks... this artist feels deeply impressed and a little bit envious of such a dmeonstration of skill.
What is the pencil or the pastel used for the highlight into the eyes? My own white pastel is not as bright as those ones so it cannot get this alive look....
Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Raphael ........? And nowadays THE ARTISTS NEVER WENT DEEPER THAN THE SKIN ! That is my criticism ! George Wu, A.I.A. 2013-12-14 RUclips / georgewu5
georgewu5 This a valid comment. Our work will never be in he same class as the genius painters you mention...but with 30 minutes ..poor light, little space, rain ,wind, try to imagine how hard it is to work under these conditions. We all try to reach the soul of the sitter..That is what I love about portraiture..going behind the surface...going deeper...I have been painting portraits for over 30 years; Even my Dad ,who I painted over and over..... I failed to capture the strength, the gravitas, the sensitivity, the gentleness;the genorosity,,the love of life, the intelligence, the sense of humour, the impudence, the total lack of fear of what others thought of him...We are are all diamonds....the problem is integrating the very subtle flaws every diamond has....especially when most people,if they are honest, don't want to see the brutal truth in their portait..if we are lucky our clients want a something that looks like them..anyway we do our best.

How much would a portrait like these cost?
50/60 euros
Donde es!?
el lugar es 'Place du tertre' en Paris, Francia

What do they use for doing the white highlights?
I believe its white charcoal or chalk or cream color if it's on tan paper
For pure white highlights eg highlights in the eyes most artists use pure white pastel pencils
