Unfortunately I am not the artist, just the husband taking a video of his wife. However, when we got this framed they indicated that it looked like charcoal and chalk (but certainly could be soft pastel). Sorry I do not have the exact answer for you.
I pride myself in being an animator and motion graphics artist...but then I look at videos like these and ask myself..."what the hell have I done in life " 😅
It's a tough business because the usual expectation and result is big on commercial appeal. I think most of these street portraits are too big, for starters.
@@mykaguidry5903 My view is that this type of artist works rather large to give the customer the feeling that they get more for their money. Which in reality is exactly the opposite of what happens. I have been asked many times to draw portraits and I turn down every commission request. Once the person said "I'll pay whatever you want to charge". I just prefer to pursue my own art without getting sidetracked into portraiture where the buyer really knows little about art. But it's fine if artists want to work publicly. We have different goals.
instead of making your customer sit for a period of time can't you just take a picture and draw off that so she can't have the trouble sitting there still.
It wouldn't be as good as the original. If you're looking at a beginer artist's work you can tell if it's drawn from life or not. You learn alot more from drawing from life.
This is the work of an experienced artist, with years and countless hours of practice and learning. Excellent portrait.

The bigger you can go the better the detail and freedom of curves..just gives artist more freedom
Only my opinion

A fotografia é uma abstração distorcida da realidade, os olhos do leigo estão conformados como absolutos.
Thats the art. Youre a model of your own

You will have a great and better understanding on the subject if it is from life
