    It is proved beyond doubt that a Digital portrait cant compete with this hand made drawing. I like & loved his style of drawing portrait. This video definitely Inspire even to a novice to start some sketching and do some practice. Very intelligent drawing. Artist's hard work, plenty of practice in drawing portraits is clearly visible. Having vigorous practice, he draws automatically like a machine. Thank you Mr Davy Lim. Really I love you. keep it up.

      Thanks for your comment,Chandra.I don't think he draws "automatically like a machine"but I know what you mean:he is technically very, very good. However, he still uses an eraser often for corrections and there's nothing wrong with that;it's very "human".
      Above all, he brings his subjects to life and gives them "soul". I don't think any 'machine' can be programmed to "feel" and create great art alone.
      Digital art is usually created by real artists, often drawing and painting by hand on a touch sensitive screen, and artists CAN put heart and soul into their creations. I have seen some great digital art by artists who know how to fully exploit the advantages of the computer revolution.David Hockney has experimented with all kinds of artistic tools, including an "I pad."

      +geekyorc there are lots of channels that show you how to do things you thought were beyond you.I do not not like artists who show great little clips and then ask for money to see their full version videos.The idea of you tube iis to give free imfo.I have learnt so much from you tube.When you can see it everything becomes easier.

    After watching these videos, I brought a black polychrome pencil and some Canson paper both of which remain unused. He's so good only in my dreams could I draw as well as Gezer does. Thank you Davy Lim for all your great videos.

    Absolutely mesmerizing isn't it? Watching someone able to see so closely and produce what he picks out so accurately with a fat blunt piece of charcoal. It's stupidly good. I love it. Post more!

    Remarkable work! Just charcoal pencil very controlled movement of the hand although the erasing once in a while to mark the lines and shadows. I like his style. Great job! Thanks for sharing 😊

    I was craving for new videos from you all these months. And all of a sudden, I wake up and I see 2 'brand' new. Is this real or am I dreaming.
    Is this creation or am I dreaming (Whitesnake...).

      +Alexandros Makris Sorry for the delay! There is so much raw footage,but it takes time to edit and I've been overloaded with paperwork and lots of boring but must-do stuff.I had a hard drive crash too,and it was more expensive to retrieve the video files than I thought, anway all is well now (touch wood) and I hope to upload lots of vids this year to make up for lost time.Thanks for waiting!

    Hi..sir.. your art....and you explain about unique styles of artist.... it's more inspiring me...but... sir....can you upload one video...how to start live portrait drawing.... for beginners....to know about this and create our own style of art...

    • @DavyLimvideos
      @DavyLimvideos  Год назад +1

      I think the only way to learn to draw portraits from life is to just do it! Making mistakes is part of the journey. Drawing everything around you (not necessarily portraits) will help you, so it's a good idea to always carry a sketchbook whenever you can. Your personal "style" will come with time.
