Best ending is *S* but it varies. If you check the first shower, Laura is dead and Ann is the one you find knocked out in the Clock Tower. If you don't look in the shower, then Bobby drops down from the stain-glass window in the ceiling, impaling Ann with his scissors. So Laura takes Ann's place in the Clock Tower. No matter what you do, only you and Laura *OR* Ann survive.
@@darklordliam i always had concerns about that death. Jennifer should be given a choice between trying to save Ann or leave her, in first scenario she probably getting killed by Bobby afterwards. Could be much more logical and horrific scene
I don't understand ending F. You get into the elevator sooner than you normally would have, so Bobby would have less time to get there. And if Bobby was already there waiting, he'd have killed Jennifer much earlier in the other endings since he'd already be chilling in the elevator shaft. Ending H blows my mind, that's some creepy shit.

Dialogue has never been a requirement of horror, and some of the scariest games I recall date back to the Commodore or Spectrum, and they weren't even horror games, nor could they use much sound at all. So long as something can immerse you in some way, it can draw your feelings and emotions. Most modern horror relies on cheap jumpscares these days, so people eventually become attuned. Games are great because you interact with them, whereas you can only WATCH a movie. There's a lot of interactive horror games like Clock Tower out there - and I wouldn't call them 'scary', but tense and intriguing.
S ending: only see one of your friend die, learn about mary by the secret room, see lotte in the caves A ending: same as S, but learn by Simon Barrows B ending: same as A, but see both of your friend die C ending: same as S/A/B but go to floor 2 instead D ending: same as C, but don't learn about Mary Alternate D ending: Do not see any of your friends die, and escape with the car E ending: same as D, but go to floor 3 instead F ending: Same as S, but don't see Lotte
The first PS1 game released in North America was actually a sequel to this game, not a port. There was a PS1 port of the first game, but it never left Japan and it was mostly the same anyway.
@@aka_hisoka then why does the game's Wikipedia page show that the game has never been released outside Japan? And why make a fan translation for a game that's already localized?

I think that ending C may be the canon one. Because unless I'm wrong, I think it's the only time that Dan is mentioned by name. It'd make sense for the big reveal in the sequel.
I've played this years ago and it scared the crap outta me. My sister keeps wanting me to play it again so she can watch (again) but I just won't do it, lol.
@NewVegasBorder Clock Tower 2 takes place one year later, not five. As for Jennifer not questioning Edward a lot of her memories of this were suppressed due to the trauma, which is why Professor Barton kept hypnotizing her. She doesn't remember everything unless you get the best ending in Clock Tower 2.
Played this game pretty extensively as a kid. I thought I unlocked all the endings, but it turns out I've never seen endings A, D, E, or G before! Why does the clock tower cause Scissorman to freak out again? I vaguely remember something about "time will cause adherence" or something like that written down by Mr Barrows. It's been over 20 years since I played this game.
Bobby's Theme is so much scarier.... fuck jason's theme this is so fucking uncomftable.... thats why when im playing the game im always pissed at the music and spam my keyboard
I disagree. I think the one where you just see her get on the elevator, and then hear her scream, and see blood seep out under the door, is more chilling.
***** I find it unlikely that any of them will survive, in an ending where Jennifer doesn't. Even having a second survivor takes very specific decision making, and as such, is highly unlikely. So if Jen doesn't survive, it's fair to assume nobody does.
No guys its not cannon Lotte's cannon death is when you find her in cradle under the star anne's cannon/true death is her window death and laura's is in the bathroom maries true death is falling off the ladders S-B only
Did anyone notice how on ending S and A Bobby drops the scissors on our right side. When we see Mary fleeing from the crowds or Jennifer runing from Mary in ending A, the scissors are *poof* magicaly gone! 0_o
@shimakouyou Ending G is the ending where you don't see any of her friends die. Some speculate she committed suicide. H is where you do at least one die.
when bobby comes into the elevator at 8:40 you cant see him on top with your x ray vision. me and my sis were goofing off in art class doing a play (assignment - act out a horror movie or game but re do it) and we did this and we were having bobby with safety scissors and mary was like "bobby! Dont run with scissors!" and we give him safety scissors. lol
True. Ending B is the best ending due to Mary GITTING fried to death, but isn't she nsuppose to spue blood all over her face and drop to the floor??? But still... GIT FRIED MS. MARY!!!!!!!!!!!
This game SCARED ME SHITLESS! Yet somehow I managed to get all the endings. I played Resident Evil after and it's nothing compared to this. Endings S and B are my favorites. Ending D made me want to cry and Ending F pissed me off.
I wish this had been released as Clock Tower on the SNES in North America. Then, what's known here as "Clock Tower" on PS should have been Clock Tower 2 (like it is in Japan.) Then, it would have been cool if they did a 3rd Clock Tower that continue the Scisorman story, and released it on PS (or maybe PS2, for that matter.) That would have been an awesome trilogy.
How to get each ending (taken from whoisthisgit's Creepy Bad Endings #17) To get ending S, you'll need to find secret room before being captured and speak to Lotte in the cave. Try not to discover Laura or Ann dead. Free the crow. Go to floor 3. Ending A has same requirements, except you need to be thrown into the cell rather than find secret room. To get ending B, get thrown into the cell or find the secret room and let both Laura and Ann die earlier on. To get ending C, get thrown in the cell or find the secret room. Laura or Ann's fate doesn't matter. Go to floor 2 instead of 3. Do everything you can to avoid Mary. Throw her away from ladder by tapping B button. To get ending D, don't get thrown in the cell or find the secret room. Make sure to speak to Lotte in the cave and go to floor 2. Ending E has same requirements. Only difference is to go to floor 3 instead. To get ending F, don't get thrown in the cell and don't speak to Lotte in the cave. To get ending G, find the car and the car key. Enter the car three times. You need to witness two of the other girls dying. If you see all three die, the car disappears. To get ending H, escape in the car after seeing only one girl die.
The reason why Scissorman never runs is because it's unsafe to run while holding a giant pair of scissors.

-Whether or not Jennifer frees the crow in the Cage Room
-Whether Jennifer selects 2nd floor or 3rd floor in the elevator in the Underground
The combinations for what flags trigger what ending are as follows:
*Ending H* (Jennifer dies while driving)
-Use the Engine Key on the car 3 times to leave
*Ending G* (Jennifer returns to the orphanage and dies three days later)
-See either Anne or Laura killed either in the Screaming Hallway or in the suit of armor
-Use the Engine Key on the car 3 times to leave
*Ending F* (Jennifer dies in the elevator and her blood leaks outside)
-Do not learn about the switches in the Clock Tower (nothing else matters)
*Ending E* (Jennifer dies in the elevator after Scissorman drops from above)
-Learn about the switches in the Clock Tower from Lotte at the altar
-Do not get drugged (if you get drugged, you cannot attain this Ending)
-Do not find Walter
-Select 3rd floor in the elevator in the Underground
*Ending D* (Mary kills Jennifer with a knife)
-Learn about the switches in the Clock Tower from Lotte at the altar
-Do not get drugged (if you get drugged, you cannot attain this Ending)
-Do not find Walter
-Select 2nd floor in the elevator in the Underground
*Ending C* (Jennifer kicks Mary to her death on the ladder)
-Learn about Mary’s true nature either by finding Walter or by being drugged
-Learn about the switches in the Clock Tower either by meeting Lotte at the altar or (if she is already dead) by checking the books in the Religious Study
-See either Anne or Laura killed either in the Screaming Hallway or in the suit of armor
-Do not free the crow in the Cage Room
-Select 2nd floor in the elevator in the Underground
*Ending B* (Mary is electrocuted on the switches at the top of the Clock Tower)
-Learn about Mary’s true nature either by finding Walter or by being drugged
-Learn about the switches in the Clock Tower either by meeting Lotte at the altar or (if she is already dead) by checking the books in the Religious Study
-See either Anne or Laura killed either in the Screaming Hallway or in the suit of armor
-Do not free the crow in the Cage Room
-Select 3rd floor in the elevator in the Underground
*Ending A* (Mary kills Jennifer’s friend at the top of the Clock Tower but is then killed by crows)
-Learn about Mary’s true nature by only being drugged (If Mary is not in the phone room, examine the wine cabinet in the kitchen and you may be drugged there. If that doesn’t work, you have to restart your game and try again if you want to attain this Ending)
-Learn about the switches in the Clock Tower by checking the books in the Religious Study
-Do not see either Anne or Laura killed either in the Screaming Hallway or in the suit of armor
-Free the crow in the Cage Room
-Select 3rd floor in the elevator in the Underground (if you select the 2nd floor, you will be defaulted to Ending C)
*Ending S* (Jennifer and 1 friend survive, Mary is killed by crows)
-Learn about Mary’s true nature only by finding Walter (if you get drugged, you cannot attain this Ending)
-Learn about the switches in the Clock Tower by meeting Lotte at the altar
-Do not see either Anne or Laura killed either in the Screaming Hallway or in the suit of armor
-Free the crow in the Cage Room
-Select 3rd floor in the elevator in the Underground (if you select the 2nd floor, you will be defaulted to Ending C)
*NOTES*
*If you use the crows in the Cage Room to ward off Scissorman, you will be locked out of Endings S and A
*If you see all three friends die, then the car will disappear from the garage, locking you out of Endings G and H
*Endings S, A, D, and E are the hardest to attain since they rely on a random element that is not under the player’s control (being drugged).
Damn Jennifer in ending B is just straight up savage
2:00
"Next time...YOU're getting adopted."
*BADUM-TSH!*
In ending F, how can you not know someone is in the elevator? Unless he broke through the vent again but still...
This game has no spoken dialogue, yet it still manages to be scarier than most horror games nowadays.
S ending: only see one of your friend die, learn about mary by the secret room, see lotte in the caves
A ending: same as S, but learn by Simon Barrows
B ending: same as A, but see both of your friend die
C ending: same as S/A/B but go to floor 2 instead
D ending: same as C, but don't learn about Mary
Alternate D ending: Do not see any of your friends die, and escape with the car
E ending: same as D, but go to floor 3 instead
F ending: Same as S, but don't see Lotte
she's a few feet away, I still got time!
*climbs ladder very slowly
almost there only got 3/4 of ladder left
Ending F is a wonderful example of "leave some to the imagination".
I had a dream one time that I was in that same elevator, but Bobby didn't come through the ceiling... he cut the elevator's cord...
The SNES version is scarier than the American PSX version O_o
The first PS1 game released in North America was actually a sequel to this game, not a port. There was a PS1 port of the first game, but it never left Japan and it was mostly the same anyway.
The one that never got out of japan was the snes version. The ps1/windows port was also translated and given the subtitle "the first fear".
@@aka_hisoka then why does the game's Wikipedia page show that the game has never been released outside Japan? And why make a fan translation for a game that's already localized?
@@Nikku4211 I know this is an old comment, there are a few differences in PSX version of this game compared to the SNES.
One of them does lead to part 2, or Part one in US.
its pretty cool in a way
the PSX port version of this game is named the first fear and the sequel was named only CLOCK TOWER that's what makes people confused
first fear is enchanched version of this game for ps 1 pretty much but sadly its only in japanese , good thing there is a patch for the english now
It would be awesome if they made a remake of this
That was great.
It's nice to see them all on RUclips!
And in one video, at that! Kudos.
awesome! thanks for posting this. it must have been a pain in the butt to get all of these endings!
12 years after this video, they finally making an upgrade version with better music and animation cutscenes
A is fucking brutal. Bye, Ann...
*_this happened to me_*
*_....using laura_*
8:00 in this ending you've never been attacked by Mary so you dont know she is the "bad guy"?
-I’m the bald guy-
I'm the bed guy
3:15 This bitch's empty! *YEEEEET* !
Jennifer? More like Jenni-FIRE! Hahaha!...Am I fired?
Okay, take it easy.
+The AngelAJPwny Who is she on your profile pic?
This lovely young lady is known as Ladybug, from the _Miraculous Ladybug_ show. It's pretty cool! They have a lot of different villains. Weird villains, cool villains.
@JohnACorp782 r/whooosh
I like the car scene the reaction on her face while seeing the scissors pop out was just disturbing
As soon as I saw the scissor man came out if shower I was like fuck it and drove away...
Jennifer: Mary!!
Mary: Your safe now!
*stabs*
Jennifer: Why...
Mary: *Trollface*
Ok I came here from JonTron's vid about this game and when I was checking the comments apparently he got the S ending without him knowing. S ending, in my knowledge, one of the hardest endings to achieve. I just wanna ask if it was truly hard to achieve this said ending
Dude, ending A... she totally ducked the grab and let Ann take the fall. Some heroine.
You're quite the button tapper. I couldn't tap that fast (on a keyboard) to save my life....Literally! Bobby and Mary got me enough times it's enough to go insane over.
*Bobby breaks into elevator.*
Jennifer: EEEKKK!!!
Bobby: Phew...*Pants*....Finally...Here, I was chasing you all around to give you this.
Jennifer: My purse! Thanks Bobby!
Bobby: Don't thank me! Thank satanism!
*Epic cheesy high five moment!*
10 years ago was a better time
@@noxturne16 I was ready to cringe looking back at this but "thank satanism" is honestly still funny to me.
@@ToastedWafflez woah ur still alive! tbh it’s funny cringe in my eyes, gave me a chuckle
*Ending H is like:*
But... The others...
...
...
...
Fuck it
**GETS OUT OF THE TOWER WITH THE CAR**
aside from the sound being a bit off, you should really watch this in 1.5X speed
Ending C is my far my favorite of all of them, I love the ladder sequence
I think that ending C may be the canon one. Because unless I'm wrong, I think it's the only time that Dan is mentioned by name. It'd make sense for the big reveal in the sequel.
I've played this years ago and it scared the crap outta me. My sister keeps wanting me to play it again so she can watch (again) but I just won't do it, lol.
9:55 Certified Hell no moment
@NewVegasBorder Clock Tower 2 takes place one year later, not five. As for Jennifer not questioning Edward a lot of her memories of this were suppressed due to the trauma, which is why Professor Barton kept hypnotizing her. She doesn't remember everything unless you get the best ending in Clock Tower 2.
he doesn't like the sound the clock makes, and without looking where he's going he tries to walk away from it, but falls to his death.
I watched a Let's Play of this and I totally expected Bobby to be in the elevator. I was totally right... for 2 endings :p. Awesome video :)
Oldie but still a goldie
this game creeps me out more then the newer horror games...
Even Ending S is creepy, and that one doesn't have a single death onscreen. also Bobby's theme is possibly the most terrifying thing ever.
The twin’s deformities kill them. The clock tower causes time to resume.
@@Henrykrinkle5 Ah, got it. Thanks!
Ending C is the best ending out of all to me
Bobby's Theme is so much scarier.... fuck jason's theme this is so fucking uncomftable.... thats why when im playing the game im always pissed at the music and spam my keyboard
That was very informative, thank you. That never made sense to me before xD
best ending is the one at like 5:41
I disagree. I think the one where you just see her get on the elevator, and then hear her scream, and see blood seep out under the door, is more chilling.
***** IF she lives. Which is highly doubtful. XD
***** I find it unlikely that any of them will survive, in an ending where Jennifer doesn't. Even having a second survivor takes very specific decision making, and as such, is highly unlikely. So if Jen doesn't survive, it's fair to assume nobody does.
If Clock Tower was a real horror movie, C would be the most likely ending
12 years later
Damn.... This game has just given me nightmares, and i haven't ever played it. Thank you RUclips.
They should make a movie based on this game..
Opens the jail cell. If you have the key in your inventory, Lotte won't come and break you out.
6:54 get out of here stalker
Y'know, despite apparently being cut viciously in ending F, Jennifer can sure keep a very content face.
Such a classic
The sound of the bell disorient Bobby enough, so he fell.
Is the ending S is a Perfect ending.
9:29 pause here and what does it say?
Endings D through F get the awards for being the 'fuck you, you lose anyways' endings while actually reaching the end
Personally, I believe Ending F is by far the scariest. Ending H is the worst ending you could get.
Jennifer looks like Alessa Gillespie from Silent Hill.
when bobby comes into the elevator at 8:40 you cant see him on top with your x ray vision. me and my sis were goofing off in art class doing a play (assignment - act out a horror movie or game but re do it) and we did this and we were having bobby with safety scissors and mary was like "bobby! Dont run with scissors!" and we give him safety scissors. lol
Always remember to check the back seat of your car. Ya never know if you maybe carrying a unexpected passenger.
@jpmurphree You may not hear it, but the bells are chiming when she turns the generator on! It's too much for him to bear so he blindly falls.
Oh yeah nothing scarier than two midgets with giant scissors with the most terrifying names...Dan, and Bobby... muhahahaha!
Saw someone gets pecked by birds and fell to their death
*Walks casually and slowly*
How to get each ending (taken from whoisthisgit's Creepy Bad Endings #17)
To get ending S, you'll need to find secret room before being captured and speak to Lotte in the cave.
To get ending H, escape in the car after seeing only one girl die.
never played the game before But it looks great im gonna try it when i get my hands on a copy lol.... and scissorman is uber in my eyes lol
Anyone else notice how the music at 0:21 is pretty much always like that on a play through on just this side of the ClockTower?
Its some sort of remixed version of Don't Cry Jennifer
I don't know about you guys but is I was Jennifer when Mary gets electrocuted I wouldn't have taken any chances and thrown her over the side.
Thank you so much
Oh my god!
She killed Bobby!
They should remake this game
