And that’s cool how Steve just made Stephen go like “Screw it. I’m letting out my inner child.” Steve had an impact not only on the children who watched the show but also the adults watching the show with their children.
Steve wasn’t even on mind… like maybe in the very back of mind but wow seeing him again and hearing his explanation was the closure I didn’t know I needed.
This really convinced me that Steve burns was not just an actor on a children's show but an actual caring sweet human being who appreciates the role he played in the lives and development of so many. It sounds silly but a children's tv show host deserves some reverence because it's not a small title. It's extremely important
Yes! Only adult equivalent I can think of is Doctor Who. It's a role that you take on for a time and have to truly have respect for. These kids hosts low-key raised us!
I cried so much. Everything's really heavy and tiring lately. When I watched his message, I felt nostalgic, I remembered the 5 yr old me, waking up early in the morning, sitting in front of the TV, watching all the cartoons, my Mom doing laundry outside, then after a few minutes she'll come inside with breakfast and I will eat with her. I miss the old me, with no anxiety, disorder and such. I just wanna go back to the old me.

I don’t even think Steve really knew how much we still loved him until he saw how we all reacted. When I tell you guys I couldn’t believe how deep that video hit me. It felt like an emotional punch to my chest. 🤎🤎🤎 We love you Steve!
I literally said out loud “My God, that’s like a punch directly to the heart” and here you are saying everything I wanted to say. Who would have thought of all the world leaders and celebrities, Steve from Blues Clues had such an impact on an entire generation ✊🏽
I've seen it said that, with all everyone's been through these last eighteen months, it was like Steve stood up and said, "I have to address the nation."
they need to bring steve back and do a show for millenials where he just calmly talks to us and gives us advice because hes the only man we actually trust
This is how good that was: not living in the US, I wasn't even aware of "Blue's Clues" until today. And I was still moved by this clip. The kindness is obviously real, and very much there.
Aaawww I live in the Philippines but we still had Blues Clues on local television. It was the shit back in kindergarten. Seeing that guy again now means a lot to me as a 20 something adult. The tears lol
It was a show made just for kids, unlike sesame street which was suppose to be something adults watched with kids. Blues clues didn't play with that...they went straight for making sure the content was only about children watching. It worked! I remember my baby sister guessing everything on the first clue and being annoyed.
I'm from Indonesia, born and raised, but I watched blues clues as a kid, with Steve and Joe. It's Steve. He has that calming charismatic voice that touches your heart. He seems like a really good guy. When Steve quit blues clues, he said he knew it was time for him to stop because nobody should stay that long on a tv show, especially for kids. I'm so proud because he knew what enough was. Eventhough eventually it broke many hearts. Now my kids watch Blues Clues and You. Different vibe, but still good show
I thought Blue's Clues was really popular like majority people of the world know it, like Dora or Spongebob because it reached my country. So glad more people know about it now and moved by Steve's video! He's amazing along with Joe and Josh :) Yes. I watch Josh too even if I'm an adult now.
As a teenager this literally was my favorite show to watch with the kida I baby sat. I thought it was so cute. It was not the same after he left in my opinion
Of course we are crying over seeing Steve talk to us as adults! He was like our Mr. Rogers! Steve taught us about friendship, acceptance, loving others and ourselves, and he taught us about mail. Seeing a video of Steve telling me that he's proud of me and talking about problems like student loans and raising a family just broke me.
Same... the things i dreamed as a Kid didnt happened but still I managed to find a way to make things happen for me. The nostalgia of simpler day just hit me. It was such a sweet gesture of him to do this.
ong bro, i started balling. it was like seeing a long lost family member, n then he said that he’s proud of what we accomplished, life has been so hard man, i needed this
Same here, I was on my last break during work, I saw the video on FB and as soon as he said, “I know it’s been hard.” I was fighting back the tears, so no one else there would see…. Thank you Steve for making my childhood a memorable one! 💚
My sister read a story about how one day when he was still on the show, he had just wrapped up filming for the day and drove by a house that was having a blue’s clues birthday party. He decided to stop in to say happy birthday to the kid. He really is just the sweetest guy. We love you Steve!
I’m 21 and didn’t have a stable father. Steve was who I looked up to. I needed that so bad especially now in college with a job and bills needing to be paid. I was stressed and now I feel hopeful and honestly kinda fucking accomplished. Thank you Steve❤️
One of my biggest childhood wishes was to have Steve show up at my birthday party, but my parents couldn't afford to hire him. By the time we could, I had already outgrown Blue's Clues.
I noticed how some of the comments compared Steve or Blue’s Clues in general to Mister Rogers. And I can’t say that surprises me. Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was actually an inspiration for Blue’s Clues in the first place and Mister Rogers himself liked it. (Not to mention he was one of the show creators’ mentor). Also, I love how Jon Batiste included that “Blue Skidoo” tune on his piano at the end. Such a nostalgic improvisation.
This seriously made my year. I watched Blues Clues when Steve was on it and got too old for the show by the time he left, so his leaving wasn't terribly traumatic, but I did miss him a lot. I loved Blue, the mail song, hopping into paintings... His show was like if Mary Poppins had a much warmer personality and a dog💙🌟. Now that I'm older, I definitely notice the strong Mr. Rogers vibe and remember his emphasis on communicating. Steve understands our problems.❤️ Steve is here for us!💙🌟
This feels like When Bill Nye came back and slapped us in the face with reality, but with a more supportive and kind approach. Both of these men were huge in my childhood and seeing them come back to say hi and help all the people they were such a huge impact for as kids is incredible to witness.
Both amazing people, and now I somehow have BOTH theme songs stuck in my head nice work (fun fact, Bill holds a patent with Boeing as an engineer, in fact he Holds 3 design patents)
Yep. My son is 22 and he *loved* Blue's Clues. I'm not ashamed to say that I sloppy cried the first time I saw Steve's video - especially as it came the day after my son's 22nd birthday.
Same bracket. Steve just had something special. He could get on their level without being condescending. Joe wasn’t terrible but he never quite mastered that.
My mom cried more than I did as we watched Steve talk for the first time together. Probably partially because now she babysits my son & watches Blues Clues with him. Kind of incredible.
It was genuinely traumatizing to me as a kid when Steve left. I was a 'put them in front of the tv instead of parenting' kid so tv was actually a form of family to me. Him leaving oddly stuck with me well into adulthood, and watching his recent video brought tears to my eyes. Childhood neglect fucks with your head lol
Same, I had separation issues. I hated the idea people leaving me and not being around. So when Steve left, the show never felt the same. Joe was awesome, but it just wasn't the same.
Same dude. I grew up an only child and both my parents worked so I was often left to play by myself. TV was my babysitter for the bigger part of my childhood.

Perfect person to play it to, he grew up playing Sonic the Hedgehog music on piano to entertain himself and includes it on albums sometimes. You know, it wasn't until just now I realized how much I wanted a Jon Batiste album of video game and cartoon music - Sonic, all of Nintendo, hey Arnold, even mr Rogers even though it was a real life cartoon.
@@elathos fred rogers played in all the music on his show and wrote a lot of it - he played the piano, and much of what he wrote was very jazzy. i only realized later in my life that my love of piano and specifically jazz piano probably started because of him. he was such an amazing man in so many ways. i ended up buying a couple of his albums which are still available from the mr. rogers foundation i think!
The last several years have just been hell on earth for me. I know that it's dumb and childish, but stuff like this really means a lot to me. I've still got a bit of little kid left in me.

This is a good thing to process with my therapist. They watched it too when they were younger. My therapist is young-ish so they know about the show lol.
I’m a therapist, but I work with mostly kids and teens who didn’t grow up watching Steve as the host for Blues Clues (or maybe didn’t even grow up with Blues Clues). But I did process this with some of my coworkers, cause we all grew up with Steve in Blues Clues. Really great (and emotional) nostalgia trip.
I’m about to be 24 and I’m still bawling my eyes out everytime I see the video from Twitter and this video as well. He really impacted my life. I watched him in Blues clues when I was getting beaten and abused by all my family and being disciplined til I had bruises everywhere. I was also bullied all my life in school so I didn’t have a break when I came home and didn’t have a break when I went to school either. This show was my escape from the real hell I was living… I had learning disabilities too so the mannerisms and the way the whole show was set up was perfect cause I got to learn slowly and with patience. So to watch this show and remember how comforted I truly felt by Steve and Blue really hit my spirit. This show really saved me and got me through the worst childhood of my life. I’m a better woman now and grew from it all and actually am living more peacefully and gracefully 🥰💯

Sometimes the world feels like it is pretty bad. What makes Steve’s message work is that it is a reminder that there are good people, and maybe it’s more people than you think. The world feels indifferent, but people can care about you if you find the right people and let them in.

I would revisit the older ones though
I'm 21, and I used to watch that show ALL THE TIME!!! I was shocked when I heard he was leaving for college, and never seen him again until now!! #NOSTALGIA!!!!!
I think the reason Steve is going viral is exactly because all of us were left with many abandonment issues as kids. We all had that person who just left for no reason, and to have this fictional character come back after all these years and say ' me leaving wasn't your fault, I'm so proud of you, look how much you've grown, I'm glad we're still friends' is actually the healing closure all of us wish we could get from a lot of real people in our lives.
She’s still there. Hold her hand, tell her you love her, and let her come out every now and then.
You can you just need to feel everything and know that it’s you healing through the traumas of life. You’re still that child inside. ❤️

He's amazing along with Joe and Josh :)
Yes.
