    I always TSP them the sand. That way I don't smear grease all around and on some cabs it pushes grease into the open grain where the previous finish has sank. Mucks up your sand paper also. After sanding I blow them off and use tack rag prior to spraying. Lacquer is always the better finish rather than paint.

    I always heard clean with tsp first so grime isn't pushed into the wood. So which is best.b

    What if you cannot spray paint the cabinets.
    What brushes to uses?

      If you can't spray, but 3/8 nap roll from Sherwin Williams... the best one... is like $3.50 in my market...
      I like the 2.5 inch sash brush... it's on angle... by Purdy... again buy the best one... it's about $15.00 in my market

      Roll 95%, then cut in just little... to lessen brush strokes...
      Also MAKE sure it is fully dried before second coat
