I was debating between the two on the 2020 models of the Fish Pro and Yamaha Fx Ho last year. All in all it’s just your personal preference on what your primary use is going to be. I ended going with the Yamaha Fx Ho. For me , I wanted something not truly for fishing or says “Fish” pro, I wanted a cruiser that I can ride on the water and if i was going to go fishing. I can transform it to a fishing boat if I needed. Again it’s just preference
Shame you didn't wait for the 2022 Seadoo line. They came out with a new model of Fish Pro called the Scout that does exactly what you described. It's based on their GTI rec models so It can be used for fishing or recreation with ease.
Fishpro has a waaay better hull, I stay dry in ocean chop, huge front storage and the extended deck is huge the yamaha is quicker, faster and might last longer as I'm a huge fan of Yamaha engines but the fish pro setup is by far the best, huge deck, stable and you ride high.
I bought the 2021 fishpro because access to storage and cooler packages vs Yamaha fx I don't want to fall off trying to reach my gear in the middle of the ocean
Seadoo is not an option. Poor quality construction and engine/cooling design. Far more likely to get stranded. Get a Yamaha and deck it out to your needs.
Lol Kevin, this was actually very clear who you would recommend. Love the podcasts and quick topics. Keep em coming
Was it? He'll never tell!

And that's the reason why Yamaha won't make a dedicated fishing ski.
