Thanks for a great day and great video, Paul! As an ex-engineer, designing and installing upgrades (with the help of Patrick @ Shoreline Yamaha) is a fun hobby in and of itself. I'm very happy with my rig... a single vehicle that I can just as readily fish anything from shallow creeks to deeper water offshore.

Lots of thought have gone into the new unit and I intend to explain all the decisions behind the new build. Thanks for subscribing and keep coming back!
I did almost 3 years fishing/diving off my Yamaha fx cruiser. Storage, towing was a plus. I did plenty of days off Moreton and even did 2-3 night trips sleeping at Lady Musgrave. Line fishing wise I’ve never caught more fish than I did with the ski. I now own a Kevlacat and storage and towing are a pain but I can now take 3 mates to the reef and my back isn’t getting destroyed when the ocean plays up. But the ski was great aside from getting soaked. If I went back it would 100% be a fish pro.
Everytime I am out I say to myself :"I am so happy I sold my boat and got a jet-ski"! So much more fun and flexibility, also way faster to get to my fishing spot. I do a lot of mechanical jigging, and having the seat in-between my legs keep my balance, being in the center of mass at all time is way better than being on a back corner of a boat fighting kingies! Great video again! Thank you for sharing those awesome setups!

Great ski Dave - and great catch with your Snapper PB. It’s early days for pimped up JetSki vids - will be great when everyone looks back and sees these great videos.
@@visionhomesjetskiadventure2302 absolutely... the tuna on the northern Sunshine Coast are quite prolific- and somewhat less pestered so also easier to catch!
Yes that's a lot of electronics, and he (and Shoreline Yamaha) have done some great work. Dave has caught some decent-sized Barra and Jewfish on that rig to make it all worthwhile.
The reason why I decided to trade in my power boat for a jet ski (FishPro) is as follows: 1. The cost of maintaining, servicing, and fueling a jet ski is significantly more economical. 2. It is convenient to clean, launch, and store in the garage, which also leads to lower insurance costs. 3. A jet ski offers a variety of enjoyable activities, from fishing to towing with children or simply cruising. 4. Perhaps the most compelling reason is that when it's time to clean the boat after a fishing trip, all my crew members seem to conveniently disappear.😅😅😅
boats are so much more input, money, insurance, gas, time, ... coming from a boating family (complete with a Donzi and a few other large boats) the costs spiral out of control fast. especially when something breaks.
damn, im some asian dude in america, been fishing for awhile mainly for pan-fishes like Crappies, and ive been thinking of getting a jetski and modifying it with 2 pontoon pod on the side for stability... see, i knew there would be something on the market like these skis here in the video with those float pods on the side, that is amazing. it is exactly what i had in mind
If someone wanted to become a millionaire...they would open a dealership network on the Atlantic coast of the USA that sold these PWCs all outfitted. You would be filthy rich!
I agree. There’s a huge market for a better fishing PWC and I think this style I use with Tubbies comes very very close to being perfect. I have some ideas to make mine better but no manufacturer to tell it to! The Fish Pro comes close but without factory-delivered side pods and some other refinements it will always remain a compromise. Thanks for your comments.
Thanks Charles. yes mate, been terrible weather, colder than I can ever remember, but also my job is keeping me very busy and off the water. Hope the new life in the west is coming together for you and the family.
the limit here in VA USA is that jetskis are not allowed on the water before sunrise and after sunset. boats might be considered rather than a jetski for this reason. i was seriously considering 2 skis to with others but with the restrictions. i will probably stick with a boat.
New to jet ski world and enjoying watching these videos. Hoping to have a basic set up for fishing in coming months. Based in Cleveland. I have an SVHO and keen to know how many km’s you get out of tank.
Hi James, we mostly have naturally aspirated skis (FXHO) and we work on around 2 Litres per KM. So you might see a bit more consumption on the SVHO. For me, it's probably more like 2.5km/litre actual, but when trip planning its always good to allow a lot of margin. Most of us also have Shoreline's aux fuel tank, which adds around another 27litres, so we carry up to 95 litres on these trips allowing for some expansion in the tanks. Most of the longer days out east of North Straddie and Moreton Islands are around 60-75 litres depending on how far we go. If you don't take spare fuel, it limits you a bit out there because it's always on your mind!
@@Jetcast thanks for reply. I’ve noticed if I stick around 50km/hr I’m getting around 2.1km per litre. I bought my ski from guys at shoreline. Patrick very helpful. The setups are really inspiring. I live in the USA and am interested in those tubbies. Sent a message to the manufacturer. Have you ever seen anyone mount a trolling motor to the bow of a yamaha fx?
To the bow? Not that I’m aware of but there’s nothing stopping you doing it. There’s even a few places to bolt a bracket. But you’d need to make the mount or find someone to do it locally. Trolling motors are great for flat water and when the seas are calm but the added weight of the unit and batteries -not to mention cost- has always made me hesitant. I’ll explain more in a future video when I go through the decisions of my new fishing rig. That’s a few more weeks out though. Thanks for viewing the channel too! Good luck with your own fishing!

Hi mate, it’s certainly possible depending on what sort of distance you’re talking about. if you carry additional fuel, and safety gear like PLB and 25w VHF., it’s no different to a boat except a bit more wet and bumpy, and less fuel! It could get a tad uncomfortable if the weather gets bad, so you’d want to pick your days. We regularly travel over 100km in a day trip fishing..what’s you closest distance to reef for diving?

They are made with a bash guard suitable for boats and skis generally sit lower to the water on many and can get scratched on the barnacles.
